You make a valid point,
icsept, but a lot of wide receivers (of all races) drafted in the 2nd and 3rd rounds take at least two years to fully develop into a top notch starter. It took slightly longer for Nelson. The fact that he missed the entire 2015 season with a torn ACL did not help either. Factor out that 2015 season, and Jordy had
4 out 5 season where he gained between
1,257 and 1,519 yards. Those 4 years he averaged 12.5 TD's -- he was simply dominant. In 2012, he
missed 4 entire
games and only played a few snaps (0 targets) in another
due to injury. Those 5 games likely cost him 5 consecutive 1,000 yards seasons and possibly another 10 TD (plus) season. Thanks to racism in voting, Nelson only made one Pro Bowl during his career, which is terrible.
Nonetheless, I still believe he could've
overcame that 3 year racial apprenticeship and
still made the Hall of Fame with a little luck and a better agent -- steering him to the team which was a better fit, not the team offering the most money. That horrible 2017 season in Green Bay started out fine -- Jordy was on pace for another 1,000 yard season until Aaron Rodgers got hurt week 6. That was "bad luck" for Jordy and Packers fans.
Brett Hundley, simply put, isn't a NFL caliber quarterback -- starter or backup. Debatable if he's even a AAF caliber starter? Stunning the Packers, a Super Bowl contender in 2017, didn't have a better backup for Rodgers.
Then signing with Oakland over the less Caste New Orleans squad was catastrophic. I honestly believe with Brees he would've easily had a another 1,000 season -- Jordy had 739 in that dysfunctional cesspool out in Oakland. He might have even put N.O. over the top in terms of getting to the Super Bowl, which would've extended his career.
First time I saw him was as a junior at Kansas State. Couldn't believe how good he was, but figured, like most whites, the NFL would find a way to screw him over. Glad he "slipped through the cracks" and got a fair chance!
