Realistically, Cole Beasley has reached his potential in the NFL. He’s not a Thielen or Edelman talent that can take over a game. A 5’8” undrafted White wide receiver as starting slot receiver on the Dallas Cowboys is a great gig. 50-80 catches and 500-800 yards per season is outstanding. He will be 30 next year and would be wise to stay put. He could sign with another team and easily disappear into oblivion.

Beasley might’ve reached his potential in the NFL in its current caste-loving state, but he’s barely been tapped if we are talking about true potential. despite his small stature, he’s frequently regarded (certainly by any who aren’t enamored with chocolate-colored skin) as possibly the best athlete on the Cowboys, with the rare combination of elite speed, leaping ability, AND short-area lateral quickness. he also has good, if not great, hands, the ability to get open over the middle, and above-average run-after-catch ability. if he were more of a featured component of a team’s passing attack, there’s no legitimate (physical talent-based) reason why he couldn’t replicate the production of a Wes Welker or Julian Edelman. after all, he’s faster than either of them, and isn’t that the narrative that we’re told over and over? speed is the “reason” White athletes aren’t “good enough?”

now if he’s as clutch and tough as those two dudes, that’s a different discussion, but i’ve seen nothing to indicate that he shouldn’t be given the opportunity.

Both Hartline and Decker faded out without making much of a fuss. Beasley does not want to go the wallflower route. Not afraid to speak his mind remember last year he jumped on Deion Sanders for dismissing him as a white nobody. Beasley has been one of the few white athletes who isn't going to make one of those " I am fast for a white guy" remarks. He prides himself in his athletic ability.

Beasley also represents what is becoming a growing pattern among white slot receivers. By that I mean and they are used pretty much exclusively as dink and dunk targets. Rarely do you see deeper crossing patterns for white slots anymore.

Beasley despite his production has always seemed like an afterthought in The Cowboys offense. Sure he would often pick up a critical third down but if you look at his actual targets the past four years they are pretty damn low for a "possession" receiver. Antonio Brown doubles in targets and slot Jarvis Landry averages about 150 a year to Cole's 80.

To further my point WR Ryan Switzer finally got to catch some passes this year with the Steelers. Like Cole, Ryan is a swift and very quick player but most if not all of his passes traveled two to seven yards. Dink and dunk. Keep in mind Switzer in college was a big play threat.

Obviously given these player's size you don't expect a multitude of deep patterns and long sideline jaunts due to their limited wingspans but throw the dog a bone once in a while for crying out loud. These white slots are being utilized like old time fullbacks, three yards and a cloud of dust. Which is why perhaps the black teammates tolerate them.

So this begs the question why are these dynamic white slots who can run pretty damn fast (Switzer pulled away in the open field on a Redskins DB who ran a low 4.3 at the combine on a TD punt return last season) utilized only as dink and dunk artists?

I suspect it would make the black WRs uncomfortable since that is "their domain" and they don't want some damn honky taking away from that narrative. The long TD pass is the "glory" patch. Imagine Antonio Brown's reaction if all of a sudden the Steelers used Switzer in more downfield patterns?

And remember the Cowboys have never made Beasley feel comfortable. They drafted over him by bringing in Switzer in 2017 so it could be Beasley has been reading the tea leaves and knows his days as a Cowboy are numbered? Perhaps I don't know for sure although I tend to think they won't resign him.

That said my biggest concern with Cole is he tends to be injury prone. Only time will tell whether Cole sticks with the Cowboys or lands on another team and is utilized better or sadly fades out.

Given his age though a nice three year contract would seem appropriate and like some have mentioned a team like the Jets are an obvious choice but we will see. Young QBs need stability slots and Cole fits the bill.

I find it very annoying when announcers see a white slot and say he is Patriots material. Demeaning. What they are really saying is white WRs, now that they are making some inroads, are nothing but small gain types intimating leave the big boy long TD stuff to the black wide receivers. Pigeonholing white WRs as nothing but three yard pass catching mini receivers. "Quick" but by God never described as fast.

So despite a greater white WR presence in the NFL, the same old caste talk filters in and erases the gains to some degree.

When Spagnuolo was the head coach of the Rams they started 5 Whites on defense, and I recall a game where they had a majority White defense on the field! I know we wrote about it on CF at the time. I can't think of an actual majority White starting defense going back to the mid-1980s when teams like the Packers, Jets and Dolphins still started a fair amount of overachievers on D. Like Eric Mangini when he started Peyton Hillis and four or five Whites on defense, Spagnuolo seems to have been "rewarded" by never getting another opportunity to be an NFL head coach, which is why I don't expect any changes on the Chiefs, especially with Fat Bastard calling the shots.

There's been rare occasions over the past 15 or 20 years when teams have gotten up to 5 White starters, with the Bills, Titans, Browns and Falcons coming to mind, but it didn't last long. Five seems to be the maximum number of Whites starters allowed on these outliers; go over that and you have a majority of White starters, much like teams on rare occasions flirt with having a majority White roster but never violate the unwritten rule that blacks must always be the majority on defenses and rosters as a whole, and of course are the overwhelming super-majority most of the time.

Yes sir, I think you have it right. Went to school with a lighter-skinned mulatto who had an African father and a white mother. His father was an Ivy League professor (allegedly) and he came from an affluent area, perhaps 99% white. Thankfully, I never was real close with this person, but he resided in the same area. On the surface, he did not seem that bad -- much more articulate and intelligent than the other blacks. But his impulses, when it came to everything, were just so different than even the most idiotic whites. Around good friends, he'd get aggressive real fast for little reason, on rare occasions, and just start fighting like a rabid dog. A minute after scuffling for no-reason he'd hug and apologize to them. Around girls (particularly white girls) he'd be extra aggressive in terms of grabbing, touching and kissing them without permission. Had he gone to school (at any level) in the last decade he'd have been expelled within a month. He also would do weird things in public, like sing moderately lewd songs in front of crowds. If this mulatto was the best blacks could offer I was not impressed.

Shadow, as far as the Patriots mascot video, I saw that a few days ago. At the time, I assumed it was clearly staged -- he privately forewarned the mascot of what he was going to do. If not, and he really did ambush the mascot and hurt him even just a bit, there should be swift action taken. Either the league hands down a heavy fine or the mascot sues for damages. Simply can not let that happen in a civil society.

As far as Spagnuolo, I don't see how that can be construed as bad news when you look back at his time with the Rams, particularly relating to Daniel Sorensen. No reason to believe Daniel will be "cleansed" only due to race, as Steve seems like a fair-minded man who will play the best players, regardless of race. Problem is, will the Chiefs GM and front office draft or sign any notable white defenders for him to play? He's the DC, not GM or head coach, so his input vis-a-vis the construction of the roster will be very limited. Only place he might have some input is free agency and that might also be limited to just suggestions?

Don, that absolutely explains why Steve has never received a second chance to be a head coach in the NFL. At one point, he was considered a defensive genius...Same with very popular Rams (ex) head coach Mike Martz, who was considered an offensive genus and had a lot more success than Spagnuolo in the NFL -- in terms of wins. Martz was relegating to being an offensive coordinator in Chicago for racist Hatie and for some crappy, mostly-black San Francisco teams he had zero chance to win with. No way Martz should not have had a second chance to be a head coach, the way Hatie Smiff, Dennis Green, Jim Haslett, Jack Del Rio and all the other ultra Caste coaches did.

It might explain why all the assistant coaches in Bill Belichick's extensive "coaching tree" go on to studiously ignore what works for the Patriots on offense when they get their chances. If Josh McDaniels ever decides to be a head coach again, after all these years working with the Patriots' White receivers and running backs, it'll be interesting to see if he goes right back to his failed formula when he coached the Broncos. The Eagles recently added another white face on D to their active roster, in 25 y/o LB Alex Singleton 6'2 233 the CFL's former "Most Outstanding Defensive Player" in 2017 finishing with 123 tackles, 11 tfls, 5 sacks, and 1 Int!

Undrafted out of Montana St. Singleton found better luck in Canada as he went in the 1st rd of the CFL's 2016 draft to the Calgary Stampeders. In just his 3rd season Singleton had already cemented himself as Canada's best defender and needed a bigger challenge.
Alex Singleton is an underrated pickup by the Eagles, and he should challenge for a starting spot immediately!

I still feel even when things seem pitch black that the white fan base could reach a sort of tipping point. I think the greatest danger to modern day sports is the alienation of the white fan.

As for the black fan in general they will always side with their "black teams" and you can bet your ass that black fans and black media figures who aren't invested in either team will be rooting for the "blacker" team which in the Super Bowl will be the Rams.

It isn't talked about much but black fans in general, (there are exceptions of course) enjoy seeing black teams and players win all the glory for it feeds many things including the floating idea of black superiority. They get off on that idea in spades!

White fans in general aren't as race conscience when it comes to rooting so many root for black teams (see SEC football) like there is no tomorrow.

It is riddled with stereotypes and just one passing comment that there might be a white running QB but the gist of the article is that the "athletic" black QB will take over the league because they are simply superior. It is blatant. It reeks of that menacing overtone we have heard for years that black athletes will make white players extinct. It also reeks of some desperation since none of "their" black QBs made it to this Super Bowl.

The QB position I have noticed is a very sensitive subject for black players and black media. White media does their part too. They are just salivating over the idea of a new black QB hero.

Now in the past QB's like Lamar Jackson would fail. But keep in mind this new variable. With all black defenses and their general ineptitude that past history of failure might change.

Horrible stuff I know but if the NFL becomes even more caste entrenched than it has been I still feel, perhaps naively, that the game will lose white fans. And to the extent where it makes the NFL industry nervous. One thing you can bet on, if the NFL goes down the caste hole like never before, it will still feature white OL and kickers which is scant solace. And the drop back white QB won't disappear because players like Antonio Brown will still want the ball on cue.

I do not agree with Male cheerleaders in the NFL or any pro league, college is okay as they are not prancing around like little queens. Question for Old Scratch: how do you know they are homos? Maybe they were offered a chance to earn a decent salary for cheerleading/dancing.

Having female announcers, sideline reporters and now as an NFL referee is just a travesty to sports. As soon as I hear the sideline reporting, game announcing tv goes on mute. Women reporters should never be allowed in a mens locker room even if the dude has a towel on.

A few have asked about this story so see below an update on the Patriots mascot's health condition which includes soreness and possible concussion. Adams claims he didn't want to hurt him which is plausible. But no excuse for pulling a stunt like that on an unsuspecting mascot because jumping on him and nailing him to the ground like he did would most certainly cause an injury. Even a serious one.
