Probably because it doesn't fit the narrative of AR-carrying white supremacist gone berserk. Truman Sports Complex where the Chiefs and Royals stadiums reside (and the Chiefs training facility) is in a less-than-desirable part of town. It's a great place to see a game, being easy to get into and out of, fantastic parking for tailgating, great stadiums. But you don't really want to be there outside of game time.
When the complex was first created in the early 1970's the plan was to have hotels, shops and restaurants all in the area. Unfortunately the locals managed to drive away any significant development, surprise surprise.
