What I meant is that Amendola isn't a wide out, he's a slot guy. And does Hogan start?

Hogan was their number four receiver, moved up to three when Percy Harvin, he of the eternally unrealized upside, sustained his annual season ending injury.

Hogan was far and away Buffalo's best receiver in the game. And New England's passing game ended the instant Amendola was injured (Gronk for some reason looked lethargic the entire game). New England's sumo speckled o-line kept Brady unprotected the whole game, thankfully he wasn't injured, but Danny was the only receiver capable of getting open. And he and Brady were robbed of a touchdown by a terrible officiating miscue. The entire game was poorly officiated.

Danny walked off without too much of a limp, didn't go to the locker room, and was seen sitting on the bench after the injury. Doesn't look serious, but who knows...

Instead of praising Hogan's ability to get open and become a target, catch the ball and stretch the field...basically being productive far beyond his pay grade...nope forget that, force the ball to Charles Clay and Sammy Watkins instead, whether they are open or not. Amazing the amount of placating that needs to be done to satisfy the fragile ego of these "supa affletes".

The early wire reports are that it was a knee injury. . .

A minor update on Amendola...

According to NFL Media’s Albert Breer, Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola will have an MRI on his knee Tuesday to assess the damage from his injury suffered in the win over the Bills Monday night.


Fox Sports’ Mike Garafolo added the belief it is nothing major, but obviously the MRI will tell the whole story.

Amendola was injured in the Patriots’ win during the third quarter, although it is unclear exactly what play it was on. Amendola stayed on the sidelines the remainder of the game, but didn’t speak to reporters afterwards.


The Patriots cannot afford to lose another wideout as they lost Julian Edelman against the Giants and Aaron Dobson earlier in the game against the Bills. They finished the game with just two healthy receivers — Brandon LaFell and Chris Harper.

Usually, when a player is believed to have a ligament tear of any kind, they are immediately taken to the locker room (typically on a cart or walking slowly) for a proper evaluation. After fielding a punt, Danny jogged off the field and briefly reached for his left knee. He was then seen being examined on the bench by 2-3 trainers for several minutes, and sat there for the remainder of the game. Hopefully, he was merely held out as a precaution.

The Pats offense has looked dreadful enough since Edelman left with injury against the Giants...but at least Amendola was holding them together and moving the chains. After Danny left last night, the Pats were as feeble as any offense you'll ever see. With former 2nd round bust, Aaron Dobson, likely out several games, (or possibly IR) with an ankle injury, the Pats will have LaFell, Harper, Gronk, and Chandler.

Did anyone notice the truly abhorrent manner in which Rex Ryan conducted himself last night? Literally every single time ESPN cameras panned to the rotund Caste-a-holic, he was seen mouthing every imaginable curse word in succession. I’ve seriously never seen any professional act this way and I’m somewhat surprised that ESPN didn’t edit out the footage for TV. A very small example of the constant mouthing of curse words (he called the Pats “punk-ass mother-ckersâ€), this time seen live on Monday Night Countdown…

Ryan was also flagged for a 15-yard penalty later in the game for his imbecilic antics. It’s fantastic to see his squad’s playoff chances take a major hit last night. Too bad WR Chris Hogan (6 catches, 95 yards), the team’s real deep threat (despite Gruden and Turdrico pleading with Watkins to do something, anything), is stuck on such a disgusting franchise. Hogan is literally uncoverable on deep routes, but needed to slow down several times due to Tyrod’s woefully underthrown balls. I couldn’t imagine what this undrafted speed-maven would accomplish with a capable QB…

I unfortunately missed the game last night. It's great to see Brady continue to dominate. I really hope they whiten up the team in the offseason though. The black drafts of the past few years are begining to catch up with the patriots because in all reality it is the white players on offense that make that team go.

Glad to see Hogan had a huge game and I guess the idler arm underthrew him on what could of been a td pass...hilarious. I guess he didn't flick his wrist quite enough.

Pig Ryan apparently caused the "inadvertent whistle" that cost the Patriots a long touchdown. Brady had extended the play and threw to Amendola along the sideline, who was wide open with just one remaining defender way downfield in the middle of the field, who was defending another Patriot receiver, who presumably would have blocked the defender enough to allow Danny to scamper into the endzone untouched. On the replay, Pig is on the white chalk near the field of play, obscuring the view of and nearly bumping into the official, who then blew the whistle. Why did he blow his whistle? He must have been rattled by Pig's antics. That's the best explanation I can think of.

BSPN's game-long drooling over Pig, with countless shots of him cursing and carrying on, was disgusting.

Looks like Manziel is in trouble for doing legal things again. Hanging out with people his age and having a few drinks. Its amazing how they try to vilify this guy. Pettine who has not shown himself to be a very good coach is now not sure if Manziel will be starting qb.

The media and fans are trying to tear him apart once again. Meanwhile much worse people continue to play in the league and no issues are made of it.

Yes it's a very unfair double standard, but Manziel has to be aware of it and deal with it. He's making it easy for the league to discard him. The truth may be that he values partying more than being the best NFL quarterback he can be, or that he just can't control his impulses.

Good news concerning Amendola's injury, as he may not miss more than a week and could even play against Denver...

Patriots fans can breathe a little.


According to CSNNE’s Tom E. Curran, Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola has a knee sprain, but he’s not expected to miss extended time.


Curran adds his availability against the Broncos will be determined by how he responds to treatment and an increase in work load as the week progresses.


The news is not as good for Aaron Dobson, as he is expected to miss the Broncos game with an ankle injury and “perhaps more than that.â€￾


As it stands now, the Patriots have two healthy receivers in Brandon LaFell and Chris Harper and then Keshawn Martin working his way back from a hamstring injury along with Amendola and Dobson.
The Patriots travel to Denver to take on the Broncos Sunday night.

Maybe so but many qbs like to have drinks. Brett Favre liked to party. So did Troy Aikman, Tom Brady and many others. You can't tell me that he can't be a starting qb because he has a few drinks. I'm not talking about being an alcoholic. I'm talking about a social drinker. There is nothing wrong with that. He isn't breaking any laws.

Manziel threw for almost 400 yards against the Pitt. Steelers Defense. Not an easy feat. He also completed 73% of his passes. Yet because he has a few beers on a bye week he is public enemy number 1. I'm sure Cam Newton and countless others like to have a few drinks at a club. Just not on the night before the games. The Browns are stupid. They deserve to lose. Cut him and let another team sign him. This is complete b.s.

Manziel is an exciting quarterback and is one of the better young White QBs, and we all know that he's got a much shorter leash then a comparable black player. That being said, for him to keep going out and drinking when he knows what the media reaction will be is immature and self destructive. Manziel underwent a lengthy rehab several months ago for a drinking problem. By all accounts, he was a lot more interested in partying his rookie season than learning the playbook. He had a huge party at his place one Friday night before a game and ended up missing a team meeting. At this point it's fair to say he's an alcoholic and should not be drinking, period.

We may have to consider that Johnny is a loser when it comes to character instead of a ritual cry of "Caste System discrimination," especially since he's being replaced by a White QB. He was set up to be the team's starting QB the rest of the season but is back to giving partying more priority than being a great pro quarterback. If I was the head coach of the Browns I'd be exasperated with him too.

Do you think Brady and Aikman gave a higher priority to partying than being a great QB? Wouldn't it be nice if Manziel showed the dedication necessary to be on the level of Brady and Aikman?

So what did he do? The accounts I've read don't say. They just say he partied, whatever that means.

Judging from the video I saw it looked like he was doing some karaoke or something. One reporter said he was in the DJ booth at the time of the video. It is disappointing the Manziel can't stay away from that atmosphere altogether. I was thinking the other day how Pettine has the same dislike for Manziel that Whisenhunt had for Matt Leinart. So, I'm not surprised by the move from the hard a$$. A significant fine would have been appropriate.
