3 great things about tonight's unfolding. 1. NE wins. 2. Dinglaf**k is gone from the airwaves. #. Austin Collie contributes and hope a S.B. ring for him awaits him!

FEI: That hot blonde Bartender was GOA. No worries there is always tomorrow night. !!!

Nothing dirty about this Colts defense.

I wasn't able to watch the game; and although I'm glad to see that the Patriots won but looking at the box score what the hell is up with LaGarette Punch scoring four touchdowns and Ridley getting two ? I'm sure Danny Woodhead would have gotten those same opportunities if he were there

On a few drives Brady and receivers did most of the work and Blount just punched it in. On a couple of other drives the Patriots started out deep in Colts territory because of turnovers. Blount also had a ~70 yard TD run.

I'm sure he will. As we all here know when the Chargers really need to win they play Woodhead a lot.

That's what I figured.

FTR, hoping that the Chargers win, and Woodhead has an epic game similar to Blount's.

Bittersweet victory is an understatement. The Patriots, without Welker, Gronk and Woodhead, are simply not the same offense. They have reverted back to their old, boring ways, back when they had slow, plodding runners like Antwan Smith and uber criminal Corey Dillon. Yes, I know they won Super Bowls that way, but were they a team any of us really rooted for?

And now they have perhaps the NFL's most odious player in Lagarette "Lightning" Blount. It's bad enough that he's mixed in the game plan, but for the past several games, he has been THE focal point of the offense. Why has he been promoted over the more talented Ridley and Bolden, and the infinitely superior Vereen? I'm sorry, but I can't get past how offensive this clown is. Without the NFL, there is no question he would be in prison.

And once again, we are treated to a long TD run from the league's slowest "halfback." How many times can one RB be that lucky, to waddle through a huge hole and somehow have the entire defensive backfield disappear? By contrast, how has one of the league's fastest runners, Danny Woodhead, never had this experience? Does this make any sense at all?

If Blount weren't there, the Patriots would be my unquestioned favorite team. But alas, this one particular player is in the Lawrence Phillips category, in my book, and he has now inexplicably gone from being inactive some games to becoming the star of the offense.

This really shouldn't surprise me, as Blount has plenty of company in his category; the undeserving, the unqualified and the unlikable. The NFL, like the NBA, is so thoroughly criminal, so intrinsically corrupt, that it has to reject the rare Tebows, and just as surely has to keep extending opportunities to the Blounts, and his fellow criminal teammate, Aquib Talib.

As for the other game, I didn't see any of it until the last few minutes. I'm guessing that the Saints defense, like every other defense the 5'10 Wilson has played, was somehow unable to bat down any of his passes. I think I saw a stat that said Luck had 8 passes batted or deflected tonight. And we are still awaiting this midget's first batted down pass?

If the Patriots get to the Super Bowl, of course I'll be rooting strongly for them against any of the three despicable, black quarterback-led NFC teams. But it just won't be the same with Blount waddling into the line time after time, and no Gronk, Welker or Woodhead. Yes, Edelman and Amendola being out there is great, but they will never be allowed to be the focal points of this offense, in the way that Gronk and Welker were. And how can anyone maintain that Kembrell Thompkins should be playing ahead of Austin Collie?

Okay, enough negativity. It is great that the whitest team in the league won, and is on the verge of another Super Bowl. Maybe I am just that hard to please.

Bigunreal, place yourself in the the "hard to please"category." Why can't you appreciate the NE for the amount of White players starting/playing? And yes, Blount is having an incredible run, after his transgressions. but as men, WE can't hold down men who have repented. Get a F'n clue or is this some BS of yours?

Bigunreal, I'm focusing on the total yards gained by white receivers, and the fact that there were three white WRs on the field at the same time for the same team. How often do we see that happen. One thing about Talib and Blount on the Pats is that it might be the Pats much whiter team culture which is helping to keep them in line and is allowing them to play to their abilities. If they were playing on the Steelers or Buccaneers they probably would have gotten involved in a bunch of off field incidents I'd bet and would be underperforming.
on the Pats I'd like to think that both white and black players are in a team situation which allows for talent to show itself, at least compared to other teams.
One more thing, on most of the Pats TD drives there were key receptions to white WR's that were pivotal in keeping drives alive, or that represented the biggest plays on those drives.

It was indeed the Edelman/Amendola show in the passing game, plus Collie had a key 15 yard reception for good measure. The only other black player with receptions was Shane Vereen with 2/16.

When was the last time an NFL team had zero black WRs with any receptions?

The running game was only such a focal point because the weather was so bad. Plus the Colts never showed they could stop it. Brady had 13 completions for 198 yards, and the Patriots white WRs had 10 of the receptions for 174 yards. Luck had 20 completions for 331 yards and his white receivers had 12 receptions for 148 yards. The Pats white receivers will continue to dominate the passing game and make them very easy for us to root for.

The fact that Blount is playing well makes the team that is easily the most white-friendly in the league that much more dangerous and able to defeat whatever black-dominated abomination that emerges from the cesspool that is the NFC.

I still cannot believe the Saints could not put away the blackhawks. Disgusting. Now the media is going to be hyping up the game managing black quarterback that makes it to the superbowl as elite talent. A disaster has developed in the nfc.

Just get ready for it, because this is the year the NFL goes over the top. The Super Bowl winner is going to be from the NFC, meaning a black quarterback. The black quarterback will win over either Manning or Brady (because their defenses will be absolutely horrible), prompting all sorts of stories about how the quarterback position is different now, revolutionized, etc... Get ready, it's coming. There is no way the Patriots or Broncos will be allowed to win it. No way.

Yeah, it would be better if it were Peyton Hillis running for NE, but it could be a lot worse. What SF and SEA are showing is that in today's NFL defenses are built entirely to defend the pass and any team that sticks a decent, hard running RB and runs power formations at the opponent all day long can exploit that. And play action and screens and roll outs can get you a long way with a subpar QB's if you have that type of running game. Belichick already has a quality OL, and a TE that can actually block, why not pick up some random power runner like Blount on the cheap and run over some sissy coverage defenses.

It sucks that Blount was the one to benefit, but I personally enjoy watching Logan Mankins getting to the second level and shattering the dreams of safeties.

Even the Saints managed to have success running at Seattle with downright awful running backs. What was amusing was Jimmy Graham, the most overrated TE in the league, possibly costing them the game. They could run the ball, but couldn't depend on his blocking, so had to put in someone else who could passably block but isn't much of a receiver. Saints would have had a fighting chance if "the best TE in the league" even approached being a complete player and didn't have to leave the game on running downs, only the come back in on passing ones. You aren't going to have much success against a quality defense that always knows what's coming. Teams have figured Graham out now. Just play him with a physical coverage man when he's outside and threaten to blitz over him when he's on the line and he'll spend the game crying into his gatorade on the bench.

Rain probably would have crippled the Saints "dainty-dome" style of offense no matter what, but at least a real TE would have kept things less predictable.

So now there's complaints about the Patriots winning because of the character of their black running back? Please, Negro. Do we really know or care if Ridley and Vereen are "better people" than Blount? Vereen had his chances to shine but kept failing to make catches and Ridley has been a serial fumbler this season. Blount is a power back who has some running skills. I guess it will take an all-White roster that goes 17-0 every season to pacify some.

Going to a great neighborhood bar in Simi Valley. Looking forward to 3 things. 1. Great game by NE. 2.A great beer buzz. 3. Inroads to a great looking blonde girl who is a bartender there as her second job. Not much to ask for.

good win by the Pats and all that, but the real question is:

how did it go with item number 3 on your list?!

Agreed. I am not a Cam Newton fan but maybe the Panthers would be the best choice in the SB representing the NFC. DWFs in Seattle have to realize MetLife Stadium is not Century Link and if the Patriots are in the SB there will be more Pats fans there.

If Gronk hadn't gotten hurt, a lot of Blount's touchdowns probably would have instead been passes to Gronk because he was such a huge target. He was the redzone guy. Let's face it, without Gronk around the Patriots don't have anybody HUGE to throw to. So they changed their tactics and have to use their running game more to get touchdowns. *shrug* I'm not upset about it, they are rolling with the punches and doing what they need to do to win.

Rain probably would have crippled the Saints "dainty-dome" style of offense no matter what, but at least a real TE would have kept things less predictable.

the Saints do have a te that can do both, Josh Hill, who had a very acrobatic 24 yard catch putting them in scoring range, he is just barely used, except for a few crucial situations, since he is technically the 3rd te. They have Ben Watson who can block, but is still more of a receiver than blocker, and of course Graham, who is basically a big wideout that can get jammed by guys that are 50 pounds lighter than him.

If Payton didn't try to get too cute with different personell packages every play and stuck with Josh Hill and throwing out of power formations then they
would have had a better shot.

it was Hill's first year and I believe an UDFA that was on the practice squad, probably the best we can hope for is a David Thomas type role next year. This will give the Saints more cap room, because Graham wasn't looking for top te money this offseason, he was looking for top wr money. If they pay him that then they are stupid as hell.

Kuechly with the sack!
