I've been watching old movies. Old movies are almost universally better than current movies. I watched four old comedies.

1. The Devil and Miss Jones, 1941. Starring Robert Cummings and Jean Arthur. A store owner goes undercover in his own store. Recommended.

2. I Married a Witch, 1942. Starring Veronica Lake. A witch decides to torment the descendent of the man who denounced her but things go awry. Recommended.

3. Champagne for Caesar, 1950. Starring Ronald Colman and Vincent Price. A well educated ne'er do well goes on a game show. Recommended.

Some Like it Hot, 1959. Starring Tony Curtis, Jack Lemon and Marilyn Monroe. Two men dress like women. If you find men dressing like women funny you'll like this movie. I don't so not recommended. Not recommended even though it has Marilyn Monroe in it.

Synopsis:

Give it a rest already. Thankfully, it only garnered a pathetic 7.8M at the box office.

The holocaust never happened for the simple reason that the Germans, even if they wanted to pull off such a project didn't have the logistical ability to do it. The logistics of doing such a thing while fighting for their lives on multiple fronts were far beyond any nation at the time except maybe for us (we were never fighting for our lives as a nation) or the Soviets.

I was perusing some local and some not local primary (not the cheap secondary) theaters last week and some were playing old movies like "The Sound of Music" and the "Lord of the Rings" movies from over a decade ago. They are getting desperate.

At some point, these brick-and-mortar monstrosities are going to go belly-up. It's just like the NFL, they could make a product that could pack the seats (and the stands...saw quite a few empty seats in the top level at Heinz field during the Steelers game) by having a more White-friendly or traditional product, but they won't, because it doesn't fit their long-term agenda of White dispossession and displacement.

Exactly. I see by the headlines currently on Drudge that the Emmys predictably were another far-left political "resistance" show, and the ratings were bad. But they don't care, just like Nike doesn't care if its stock and sales drop some after hiring Kaepernick.

The corporate communist outlets -- Hollywood and much of Big Business including the NFL -- will continue to support the same message, and advocate the same narrative, and they'll consolidate around their remaining audience, which is still substantial and which is their "base" to put it in political terms. Our side only has the much smaller alternative media, which is being marginalized and deplatformed whenever possible by the left, which makes it very difficult to consolidate and organize our "base," which is roughly the half of the country that voted for Trump. As long as they dominate the main institutions of control, no matter how discredited and illegitimate they are in the eyes of Trump's base, they feel they're still in charge. Hopefully we can continue to nibble away at their credibility and build the alternative media before the end of the Trump administration, whether one terms or two, because if not we'll be out of time.

There have been quite a few others with sympathetic Germans: The Eagle Has Landed, Decision Before Dawn, A Time to Love and a Time to Die, The Last Valley (Thirty Years War), Waterloo (Prussians save Wellington), Stalingrad (1993) and a better Stalingrad film around 1958 Dogs do You Want to Live Forever?, The Bridge, Straf Battallion. Those I could think of off hand, all or nearly all on DVD or youtube.

Saturday night TCM is showing Ten Seconds to Hell (1959), directed by Robert Aldrich, who made films of hard men in conflict. This time they are Germans played by American actors, Jack Palance and Jeff Chandler. The story is about German POWs coming back to postwar Berlin and taking jobs in bomb disposal. They had done the same work in the German army.

Ten Seconds to Hell is on TCM at 10:15 ET Saturday night, September 22. It is also available on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Nearly every Vietnam movie before We Were Soldiers showed American soldiers as psychos at worst, witless dupes at best. And several 50's American films on WW II gave an unflattering view of the US Army; From Here to Eternity, Attack, The Naked and the Dead.

BTW a staple of Cold War era movies was the Good German; Hell and High Water (1954), Jump Into Hell )1955), China Gate (1957), The Bedford Incident (1965), The Defector )1966).

One of my favorite pictures is “Gods and Generals”...which (rightfully) portrays the Confederacy in a positive light. Showing the heroic character of great Americans such as Robert E Lee, Thomas J Jackson & James Elwell Brown Stuart.

I don't know why you ask "Would you prefer Waterloo without Blucher?" Blücher barely makes an appearance in the movie Waterloo, but in real history he was instrumental in the defeat of Napoleon.

I'm not especially sympathetic to Germans, I have no German heritage, and I don't like Adolf Hitler. But I would sooner see the regular German soldiers portrayed realistically as the ordinary and often brave men they were, rather than as evil caricatures.

My point is that although in movies made by non-Jews, Germans from time periods other than WW II, including the time directly after the war, are not necessarily portrayed in a negative way, there's not a single movie set during the years of WW II where most Germans are not portrayed as evil or insane. There are a few movies not made by Jews or people who work for Jewish producers where there are some decent German characters, such as in Cross of Iron.

True, those who ran Hollywood did all they could to demonize and/or degrade white American soldiers.

Good examples are Platoon by (((Oliver Stone))) and Casualties of War from a book by (((Daniel Lang))), and also as you mentioned From Here to Eternity by (((Fred Zinnemann))) and The Naked and the Dead from a book by (((Norman Mailer))).

My wife and I went to the local multiplex cinema a couple weeks ago to see Alpha. It was a pretty good movie. The thing that stood out, however, was how empty the movie theater was on a Saturday night. The concession workers were huddled up, talking when I approached; they were startled and glad to have a customer. Last time we went to the movies, EVERY time we've even gone to this theater, 5-6 concession lines are each 4-8 customers long! I'm glad if this a sign that we are at last starving Hollyweird.
I recorded and watched the movie Rocky Balboa last week. What a turd. Besides being a disorganized non-story, the widower Rocky is now chasing some mudshark with teenage mulatto son. The mixed kid added nothing whatsoever to the plot, except that good ol' gratuitous Hollyweird miscgenist poison.
