Rule change approved outlawing the infield shift. Two players must be on each side of 2nd base. Pretty pathetic, in my opinion.

Agreed. The shift could have been remedied if batters went back to using the whole field rather than pulling the ball and trying to hit homeruns all the time (resulting in higher strikeouts). Also, you would think the stolen base would come back to keep defensive positioning more honest.

It amazes me that the sports I watched as a kid all have been undergoing constant rule changes rather than just keeping them as they were.

They can tinker with this and apparently are obsessed with shortening the game with a clock between pitches. What about getting rid of the phantom baserunner in extra innings? That better go and they can also get rid of the DH in NL. I don’t know any baseball fan who wanted these things.

Texas rookie third baseman Josh Jung hits a home run in his first MLB at bat! Hopefully it's the first of many.

I did the math, and if Trout had as many at-bats as Ohtani, he would have had roughly 45 home runs already and the same number of RBIs (86). Ohtani is a phenomenal player, but his hype has over-shadowed Trout’s a bit. Mike being injured far too often the last few years doesn’t help.

I would agree being injured has put him behind in what could have been, but at the same token it may be a blessing as he has missed a lot of games over the past 3-5 years. It could work out in the long run as he doesn't have the everyday wear and tear that would normally happen over the course of a 162 game MLB season. I believe that's why he's so hot right now. He has missed roughly 25% of the season, so he's well rested. It would be a phenomenal season if he could get to 40 home runs despite missing 40 or so games. He has a good chance with 24 games left. I've noticed he's not striking out much since his return, which obviously helps his chances.

Agreed, I think he reaches 40-45 home runs. He is on absolute fire, seeing the pitches well. Even tonight he went 1-4 but the three he flied out… his bat is finding the ball with regularity.

I’m just kidding around.
Mr. Carolina Speed, I do not mean any disrespect.

I was just hoping for some White bros. on my hometown team which always leans “south of the border”

Another note on Riley Green, his dad is a hitting instructor, how about that for good fortune!
Flint, I don't know if this will help or not about his race but this is an interesting article on Green.

Just watched Trout hit his 34th home run. 6th in the last 6 games!!!!
If not for the time missed I have to wonder how close he would be to Judge if he had played the whole year.

Speaking of Aaron Judge, he passed Arods single season record but can he catch or pass Ruth or Maris? I sure hope not.
I'm sure he is a great guy but the media will never let us here the end of it if he passes those all time legends!

By all accounts Judge is a decent guy. Hard to not feel good for him having the season he is. His white genes are clearly dominant.

That being said, I also hope he doesn’t reach 60 but odds are against it unless he has a poor streak to end the season.

Woohoo. Now that's a game I know you wish you were at. You and me both! :)
Yessir WL. It would be cool to hang out at a game with some CF friends someday.
BTW, Texas rookie third baseman Josh Jung hit his second homerun in his fifth game as major leaguer. Looks like another star to watch in the future!

Mike Trout is 1 game away from tieing the all time Major League Record of 8 straight games with a homerun shared by 3 guys in history. It
would be a fitting last month of the season to see him tie it tommorow & then break the record the next day. Good luck Mike Trout! :)

I always kinda feel bad, you could almost copy the same headline for any given Angels game:

"Mike Trout does something unbelievable; Angels lose 5-4"

Mike Trout goes deep again today. That is his 36th homerun on the year. He has hit homers in 8 of his last 9 games!

Are you sure WL? I looked at the box score and it had Trout going 2-4, 2 singles and an RBI. Mickey Moniak homered.

Dang it. Yes I read it wrong. I'm sorry. I've had so much incredibly bad luck for 2 to 3 months now. Not gonna go into it but it's been
a very tough time. Not sleeping much and alot of stress and anxiety. Personal and financial troubles. So murphys law has been beating
me up pretty good. That's life. I will get through it. Sorry I posted it wrong. I must have been sleep walking. Lol. At least he had 2 hits
in 4 at bats. It's sad though as we always say that the Angels just always find ways to lose baseball games. How can the games greatest player have such bad luck to be on a team that is the bad news bears of baseball. Now that was a good movie from way back in the days.

No worries there at all WL; I’ll pray for a turnaround in circumstances.

Trout, despite missing around 40 games, is sitting in what 3rd for HR as wells as slugging and OPS and over 5.3 WAR. Even missing so many games, he is still atop the production.

I'd say Gunnar's career has got off to a good start. He's been a difference maker in his first 50 MLB ABs.
