I’d like to watch some baseball. Who are the Whitest teams? I think I’m going to follow one of them.

@Flint I’d say as a whole, the National League overall is much better than the American League. Dodgers are usually a good team by CF standards. If you don’t want to be seen as “bandwagoning” the defending champs, I think the Phillies look good, anchored by Harper and Realmuto. These days I follow individual players more than specific teams so I don’t really know, but those are starts.

Edit: Looks like the Reds are also another good team for you. Braves were good last year with Duvall and Markakis manning the corner OF spots but with both gone they’re not as enticing.

The Dodgers seem to have this endless supply of white guys. Lux and McKinstry have been in the lineup a lot these first 6 games - both played sparingly last season. And both are off to good starts at the plate.

To me these Dodgers are up there with the 80s Celtics and the Patriots of the 2010s. They are the best team in baseball and also the whitest. It's great...like Larry Bird great.

As others have mentioned, the Dodgers are probably the whitest team. Most of the time they start eight white players. Mookie Betts being the only exception.
There are several teams that start between 5-7 at any given time:
Dodgers: 8 most of the time. Kershaw get the win last night.
The Reds. Mentioned by snowplow. Generally, start 6. Tyler Naquin had 7 RBI yesterday!! Leading the league with 12 on the season already.
San Francisco: 7
Colorado: 6-7. Ryan McMahon starting well. Leading the league in HR's, 4 and TB, 22!!
Texas: Has recently gone white starting 6-7 this season. They've added David Dahl from Colorado. 1b Nate Lowe starting the year hot. Leading the league in HR's 3/RBI 14.
Arizona: 5
Philadelphia can start 5 or 6 including the pitcher. Realmuto, probably the best catcher if not one of the best in MLB right now.
Mets: Started 6 last night. Pitcher was black. They have one of the best white pitchers in Jacob degrom.
Cardinals: can start 6 and 7 including the pitchers.
Cubs: with 5 and 6 including the pitcher
Angels: start 4 whiteys regularly plus 1 if the pitcher is white and Ohtani is Japanese. So, 4-6 depending on how Ohtani is designated.

Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Probably missed a few, but I'll research the ones I'm not sure of.

if you enjoy the game of baseball and are looking to cheer on some White athletes, i encourage you to watch collegiate baseball. most teams are completely White, and at most only have a bare scattering of diversity. my home-state Razorbacks, for instance, are currently #1 in the country and only have (i think) two non-Whites on the roster.

Thanks guys that’s very helpful. In the past when I followed the game it I’d catch a game nearly every day, listen a little on the radio while puttering around or at the gym. I’d tune in to sports talk and read the paper/internet to follow the club. Maybe catch some on tv before bed.

It was always the local club but I think I can make it work for another team. I’ve got an app that gets any radio station, MLB network lets you watch out of town games live and papers are all on line now anyway.

I’d like to follow the Dodgers because I admire how they feature white talent that can appeal to their fan base in Southern Cal. That’s where most of the good US ball players come from.

However I don’t know about a west coast team. Time difference is too great. I’ve always kinda disliked NY and Philadelphia. Maybe the Cubs. I could even go to games once in a while.

An AL Central team would be nice. There are a lot of games played with the Tigers so I could follow them easily. I know Cleveland sucks, but what do you guys think about Minny, KC or the Sox?

Sadly Flint, the AL Central might be the worst division in baseball from a demographics point of view. The Twins only start 3 White position players. The Sox 2-4 depending in on how you view Grandal and Madrigal. The Indians are similar. On most nights only 2 or 3. Their catcher Roberto Perez is a redhead who I’d classify as a White Hispanic. The best of the sorry lot might be KC. They start 4 and some of them are more high profile players. Merrifield is a perennial allstar. Hunter Dozier and Andrew Benintendi are also above average players who could break out. The rotation is also 5/5 White as well as the top 2 closer options. Go Royals!

That’s awesome. I knew they were building a new ballpark a couple years ago. I assume that’s why they want to let the fans in. I hope their attendance is awesome, and they can rub their revenue in the other teams’ faces. One by one, the rest will follow.

Trout would've went 4/5 and a possible triple to complete the cycle; however, Toronto's white CF Randall Grichuk robbed Trout of a game winning hit with an excellent diving catch. Grichuk has the distinction of being selected one pick ahead of Trout in the 2009 MLB Draft.

Toronto, starts 4 white players and a white pitcher, last night including Craig Biggio's son Cavan.

Lynn, pitcher for the White Sox pitched a complete game shut out and 11 K' in the win last night.

Good point! I checked out the Reds roster and you are right. Very CF friendly. Three pale faces in the outfield, very rare. And Castellanos I remember from his years in Detroit. Definitely white, I think his name is Greek?

The Reds are in the lead among the teams I have looked at. While I like the Cubs, the problem with Chicago sports media, is the White Sox are covered as well and from my checking out of their radio and news they are covered as much and more then the Cubs.

That and it’s Chicago ....

Nick Castellanos is of Cuban descent on his fathers’ side (though the name Kastellanos can be found among Greek people), his mother I think is Greek, and originally from Michigan (she passed her Tigers fandom to him, part of why he signed with the Tigers out of HS instead of going to college). Definitely one of our guys; he, Senzel, and Naquin form a rare “snow patrol” in the outfield. CF (along with SS) is turning into a “caste” position these days it seems.

The Sox covered more than the Cubs? Really? I know they have a lot of hype, and LaRussa, but the Cubs have always been far more popular. That really shocks me.

Decided I’ll support the Reds.

So will I. The Reds were my favorite team growing up in the seventies. The Big Red Machine it was called. Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, and Joe Morgan were the heart of the team. Along with supporting not so caste friendly line up. Concepcion, Perez, Griffey, Foster, and Geronimo. I remember pitchers Jack Billingham, Don Gullet, and Rawley Eastwick.
Rose was my favorite player.
Anyway, the new look Reds look like a team to follow:
Tyler Naquin leading the way having a career year so far, hit his league leading 5th HR and leads the league in RBI"s, 14 and SLG% 1,000.
LF Jesse Winker BA: .545. Red are 6-1 with

I’ll have to check out some Reds games! It’s nice to see Billy Hamilton is gone - looks like they got rid of him a few years ago and they never signed Puig to a long term deal. Puig is probably the most overrated player of the last decade and Hamilton is a good field but very bad offensive player who has only offered stolen bases.

The next tier of good teams to support are the Cardinals, Rockies, Cubs, Mets, Mariners, Giants, Rangers, Phillies, Pirates, Athletics, Diamondbacks and Red Sox (note their contingent consists of 4 “White Hispanics”). All of these teams start 5 or 6 of our guys on the typical night. I’d probably bump Philadelphia up in interest as all their White players are very good / star players: Harper, Realmuto, Haskins and Bohm. I’d also offer a word of warning on the Texas Rangers. They have 2 blacks that will likely regain starting roles when they come of the IL (Calhoun and Kris Davis). But it is great to see the Rangers playing to a full stadium of fans!!

I watched a little of the Rangers game last night and indeed it was nice to actually see and hear actual real fans as opposed to the the piped in noise and cardboard cutouts.

For the short term, Maddon said the Angels will use a combination of Juan Lagares, José Rojas and perhaps Jared Walsh in right field

That is very good news for Walsh! He was a late (26th?) round steal out of Georgia, drafted as a two-way player, but has showed a lot of promise at the plate and has given up pitching. Figures to move to 1B full time next year when Pujols’s contract expires. I like watching him play, looks like a future star in the making.

Walsh should be an everyday player now with Pujols as DH. Pujols is a 1st ballot HOF as long as PED issues aren't discovered with him but has been steadily on the decline for the past 5 seasons which has also hurt Mike Trout during his peak years.
