I saw a good half-dozen robins flying around my yard today. I can't recall ever seeing them this early. And it's not like it's close to spring-like weather as we have a healthy snowpack and today finally marks the end of a long period of sub-freezing temps. Anyone else seeing robins, or recall ever seeing them in late January/early February? They seem to be about three weeks early this year for some reason. . .

There must be berries on some trees nearby.

American Robins would not be migrating north this early, but a few of them actually remain farther north, wandering around in small flocks during the winter looking for crabapples and for berries (such as on holly trees).

It's possible your area has become an area in transition with warmer temperatures year around the flocks that inhabit your area may have changed their migratory patterns. I know where I live Orioles and further back Cardinals never used to inhabit it but now I see pairs and males flying around as the winters on average have become shorter and not as harsh.

It's quite a transition if that's what it is, three full weeks earlier this year, seems more like something freakish to me.

I always wonder how birds that stay around here feed and shelter themselves this time of year.

Not seeing robins the last few weeks but it reminds me of about a month ago. We had a huge rainstorm. The next day I saw more robins than I’ve ever seen before. Probably 50-80, all trying to get fresh worms I guess. It was a bit unsettling seeing so many birds in one area. Like something out of the Hitchcock film.

Makes sense, except the ones I see never use my bird feeder, they're just looking for worms all the time and the ground is currently packed with snow. I haven't seen them yet today, maybe it was a one and done.

Most of them migrate south. A few do hang around woodlands where they can survive on berries.

Thanks EP, but this video should probably be in the Covid thread or some other. It is very disturbing to see and that this is what Justa TurdO wants for his own (mostly White) citizens. He did nothing but coddle BLM burning down the cities. I hope this turns on him. However, these "police" are some of the lowest form of life in the universe. Completely traitorous scum.
Edit: The lady survived but has a dislocated shoulder. The other older man on the ground is possibly still hospitalized with no further news on him.

Honestly, it’s foolish to ride a bicycle anywhere near automobile traffic. U.N. Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development has been subsidizing cities putting bicycle lanes on their roads. Save the planet, but sacrifice a bunch of human road kill.
