I hope Usyk can keep it up for a little while longer.

As for Manny's fight, its theorized to be due to the money he spent in his political bid.

Usyk is a 4 to 1 betting favorite and should do what he did before to Dubois who admittedly has looked better against decent opposition but had to eat a ton of leather to out last Miller and Hrgovic. He did blast out Joshua but Joshua made novice defensive mistakes that a former heavyweight champion should never make if he is fresh early in a bout unless I suppose he is shot to pieces.

Pacman has squandered at least 100 million net dollars what is a few million going to do for him?

It's the equivalent of Holyfield in the end chasing short purses after he squandered similar money, Barrios is viewed as so bad that Pacman is viewed as a live dog. The prime version of Manny would do a speed bag drill on Barrios but this version should lose a wide decision.

Also Tim Tszyu is in cross roads bout against Fundora, another loss for Tszyu and his career could be in a free fall. Tszyu is a marginal favorite in the bout but that might be due to his last title bout loss which was as bad as the Joshua loss to Dubois.

That's a good analysis on the fights. I too think Usyk should be able to handle Dubois but you never know, he is getting older and he's been through a lot. You can't say that he has ever turned away from a fight or ducked anyone. I hope he wins and retires. As for Pacquiao, I agree that he'll be in tough against the younger Mexican. I have a friend who was a pretty good amateur boxer out of Oregon years back and he said he travelled to the Philippines and spent time training down in the Pacquiao gym. He has some cool pictures with Manny and Freddie Roach and he mentioned that when a training session would get done there would be a line of people outside the gym waiting for hand outs. I'm sure you can burn through money really fast when everyone and their mom is looking for a hand out. I'll be rooting for Usyk, Pacquiao and Tszyu wins this weekend, but unfortunately it has the potential to go completely opposite.

Updating the Usyk vs Dubois II undercard and Vladyslav Sirenko was largely boxed out of the ring by the mediocre Solomon Dacres who just did basic gym boxing without much power but Sirenko who was impersonating Robby the Robot couldn't raise his game beyond one punch in the 8th round that cause Dacres to lose his mouth piece. Sirenko instead of pouncing on the possibly stunned Dacres pointed to a mouth piece on the floor and the moment passed.

Sirenko will need to go back to the drawing board as you can't be out boxed by a 2020's version of Derrick Williams and be a factor in the heavyweight division.

That was really the last chance for the DWFs and black supremacists who were bellyaching about the "bodyshot". ;)

That should end any discrediting of Usyk.

Interestingly, Usyk had an easier time hurting Dubois than his other opponents which may or may not say something about his chin.

The wet ring must have hampered Usyk the first time.

He took Dubois to school I knew the fight would be the same after the 1st minute less a weird bomb that Usyk didn't see but unlike Joshua he isn't reckless to land a shot. Usyk seems like a cat playing with a mouse when he has a guy hurt and until that moment he is cat clawing at the dog.

If Dubois could take bombs from Hrgovic and Miller flush and barely give ground and wilt like that with Usyk it's a sign of losing heart with being concussed. He had no answers similar to the first fight less the bomb to the soft pelvic area.

He is doing things that are unprecedented for a 38 year old heavyweight that relies on his legs, as I said before Holyfield was looking slow and past it against Lewis and Ali was literally a human punch bag against Holmes at the same age. I hope he retires soon as I wouldn't want to see him to lose to a lesser guy who caught him at the right point in time rather than being truly better.

Hopefully he watches the Pacman fight and sees what can happen when you hang around well past your best buy date...

I have been watching boxing for over 60 years, and Usyk is the best heavyweight boxer I have ever seen. He is technically the best HW boxer, and he is the smartest HW boxer I have seen. There are only two or three HWs anywhere near him. He is simply the best at the age of 38!

Only Ali had his guile but Ali bent the rules with excessive holding and pushing down the head of Frazier whenever they clinched but as I stated before he was a mummy by the time he challenged Holmes at 38 for the lineal title in 80'.

Usyk doesn't bend the rules at all as I have never seen head butts, low blows, hitting on the break or when an opponent was down.

Great outcome. Seems I saw a video of Usyk holding up two fingers with one hand and three on the other and a little smile on his face. His skill level rivals Loma.

When he first moved to the HW I wouldn't have predicted his success. I figured get a few nicer paydays, then a big one and dismissed by a real heavy. I had missed the subtleties in his game. And I think he came in heavier to put some more weight behind his punches.

That last finisher was wicked.

Great watching Usyk blast out Dubois. Im happy Usyk improved his punching power over the years. He really threw with Intention to kill

Yes I agree I didn't see him having the size to take power shots from a Joshua type or Wilder but his ability to roll with power shots is uncanny.

It's amazing but beyond securing his future economically he really had no need to fight at cruiserweight when you look back at what he has done at heavyweight. I think if he did this we might not have had the brief 3 Kings era in the heavyweight division as Usyk probably could have boxed Fury silly around 16' and certainly would have done this to Wilder around 16' less a bomb he didn't see landing on his chin and he would have probably thwarted the ascension of Joshua in a similar manner to Wilder.

Updating the PBC card in the opening bout White Mexican-American Brandon Figueroa pounded out a decision over a game Joet Gonzalez I didn't watch this fight beyond in passing but it seemed like he was given the benefit of the doubt as every time I looked at the television he was getting beaten to the punch. I did pay more attention to the fight later in the bout and seemed to be rallying late.

Figueroa won a WBC eliminator so at some point will get a shot at the WBC 130 pound title, he will be a live dog against anybody but a true P4P candidate has he has tendency to force his opponents into phone booth fights regardless of the natural style of the fighter.

Tim Tszyu lost a fire fight to the ascending Sebastian Fundora as he was dropped early in the bout and battered around the ring after the knockdown but Tszyu rallied with violent power combinations to the towering but spindly Fundora's head and seemed to be getting on even terms in the bout. In the fateful 7th round Tszyu's rally seemed to have sapped him of energy and he was battered around the ring late and had problems sitting on his stool and told the worried referee he had enough.

The road back to contention let alone a championship might be a road to far as he has now been in violent fire fights in two of his last 3 fights and lost both. These fights age fighters and he is now on the wrong side of 30 so unless he develops a new skill set I don't see a return to his previous form.

In the main event Manneee was shockingly spry for a 46 year old fighter that relies on movement and timing and seemed to have an overwhelming lead against the much too respectful Barrios. Only when the Barrios corner read him the riot act did he try and out work the 46' year old late in the bout and swept the last 3 rounds of the championship bout and secured a draw.

History was thwarted in the bout and when the scorecards were being tabulated I roughly had a similar score to the judges but I wondered if the business of boxing would give the legendary Filipino the decision and the WBC title as rumors have been circulating that Pacman and Mayweather would engage in rematch for similar money to their first bout if Pacman looked spry even in a loss.
