I watched the highlights of the clown show boxing. The Paul brothers and their cronies have found a nice scam, i.e., box with people who cannot box, but still fall under the label of fighter. They thought they had a perfect dupe in Tommy Fury because he has a big name, but can't box. However, it's kind of backfired on them in that he knows just enough to get by. Any judge with even a minimum understanding of the sport of boxing, could not give points to KSI for throwing a wild haymaker, then running in and grabbing over and over again. It's just a stall, and an avoidance technique. A good boxer would just step back and set him up (Tommy is not a good boxer), instead of allowing himself to be tied up. Good for Tommy to pick up some big pay checks he'd never get in real boxing. He's a good looking guy. He should retire from boxing, find something else to do. He has no future in real boxing.
In terms of Logan, he has impressive physique, but none of the snap of a real puncher. He is just an arm puncher. Dillon Danis was a human punching bag, yet Logan could not take him out. I'd like to think that after this farce, these events would lose their popularity, but in our WWE world, I suppose more will be coming.

Missed the Tszyu fight. Be interested in how he looked..

The Paul boxing spectacle is quite appropriate for the times we are in.. superficial no substance..

He was very savvy and polished in his ability to slowly raise the heat on his game opponent. At first it looked like Mendoza might be able to steal the fight with a higher punch volume but Tszyu similar to Alvarez does in many fights slowly raised his volume and intensity and had his game opponent on the verge of stoppage in the 10th and 11th rounds. He seemed to back off in the 12th round to avoid a miracle home run punch.

The Tsyzu I saw last night beats Charlo unless Charlo can magically raise his game and even if Charlo wins their unification fight he will have to walk through extreme fire and nobody so far has been able to do so.

Updating the ESPN main event Janibek “Qazaq Style” Alimkhanuly was too powerful for the defensive minded ethnic Italian German national Vincenzo Gualtieri . It was the classic bringing a knife to a gunfight and once the Eurasian focused his sights on the defensively tricky German it was only a matter of time as Gualtieri had nothing to earn the respect of the now unified champion. I though the stoppage was probably slightly premature but a violent stoppage was just a matter of time even if the German seemed to absorbing the punishment of the Golovkin clone.

On the undercard Guido “The Gladiator” Vianello out boxed game veteran Curtis Harper but never had him in serious trouble and from what I read of the reports looked flat considering Harper has been starched by other prospects. It wouldn't shock me if Vianello was sacrificed to fellow prospect Richard Torrez Jr or fought in a quit the promotion match against fellow disappointing prospect/contender Efe Ajagba who himself has looked flat since he stepped up to live opponents.

I would say Ajaba would be the betting favorite as he was still blowing out Harper type opponents when he was dubbed a modern George Foreman clone.

Finally Richard Torrez Jr. blew out his opponent and looks ready for live opponents, but considering his age and lack of fights he may stick to the Curtis Harper level of opponents but he hasn't had one moment of danger in his pro career so far.

Yes on the DAZN and in the US Peacock has the Boxxer card with a bumped semifinal bout as the main event. The Hearn DAZN card has White prospects too but once again the Boxxer card seems to be devoid of White prospects. In the evening DAZN has an Oscar card but as far as I know no White fighters are on the card.

PS Showtime is getting out of boxing and it looks it's for similar reasons to HBO. The signs were there over the last year or so with cheaper Showtime cards and they didn't send a team over to OZ to cover the Tsyzu fight. I remember HBO refused to never send a crew to cover a fight in Europe, Asia or Africa as it created a cheap low budget look.

Updating the Catteral vs Linares fight and it was basically a live sparring session and the Brit won a boxing match going away. There was an argument that in the 5th round that when Linares hung on the ropes with his arm pit that it could have been a knockdown as the ropes technically held him up. Catteral seemed to be willing to box rather than press his advantages if and when he gets another title shot the lack of urgency could back fire against.

With Haney and Prograis fighting in a PPV I suspect Hearn has Catteral lined up for the winner for a voluntary defense in England.

Boxing schedule this weekend most of which is taking place in England.

This weekend is headlined by the all time carnival fight in terms of sheer size coupled with pay less Mayweather vs McGregor. On the undercard of Fury vs Ngannou Arslanbek Makhmudov is in a showcase fight against somebody named Junior Anthony Wright. This fight should be ugly as Wright is an undersized journeyman. I would have loved to see the Russian national bomb thrower against a live opponent but eyeballs on the contender are important too for marketing reasons.

Franco Canadian Simon Kean is in a make or break fight with the still lively Joseph Parker. Kean is a 8 to 1 dog but Parker took the worst beating of his life when he lost a war to Joyce. It's a possible that both Parker and Joyce wrecked each other's chins so Kean should be a live dog early or even late if he is fresh.

In the main event Fury looks like he is using this fight as live sparring session with his body looking like he could still drop at least 10 pounds of pure fat but supposedly he is two months out from the big one against Usyk. This should be a live sparring session with the cat playing with a mouse.

PS I hope Ngannou has a non heroic corner as he could be battered worse than an UFC opponent ever did to him. I think the referee for this fight might have a short hook similar to Holyfield in his last bout against Belfort.https://fightnews.com/fury-ngannou-weights/154202

Also the Carnival card has decent fights with Blacks and mullato's too with an all British clash with Wardley vs Adeleye which has been built up to a grudge match and Bakole vs Takam.

Updating the Saudi spectacle card and Arslanbek Makhmudov disposed of his undersized opponent in a little less than a round. After a knockdown Junior Anthony Wright was out on his feet and the referee jumped in to stop the fight, Wright was so wobbly he stumbled back to the ropes just by being brushed by the referee.

Joseph Parker had too much fire power for his Canadian opponent and felled him with a series of vicious uppercuts. Keane was on one knee for the entire 10 count.

It seemed like it was a matter of time for Parker when he hit Keane and the Canadian half froze but he never wobbled and even landed a few crosses and power jabs but once Parker landed the uppercut twice it was violently over.

Fury needs to get his act together. So far, Ngannou is winning this fight. Fury has already been knocked down.

After the 5th round it looks like Fury is finding his rhythm and has weathered Ngannou’s power. I expect Francis to start slowing down as his conditioning is MMA level and not boxing.

Fury has taken the 4th and 5th rounds. His superior conditioning and boxing ability taking over the fight now.

What an embarrasing display. The guy is a head case. He cleary didn't train and will probably now officially announce his retirement - but he's been retired since his last real fight.

This is the thing with Fury, you do not know which one is going to show up, he didn't take this fight seriously.

We need to see Ngannou against someone like Whyte/Chisora/Wallin to see his level in boxing.

Usyk should refuse to fight Fury now. Nobody wants to see that fat blob again. He jumped the shark.

This fight was closer than it should have been. Glad Fury pulled it out as even the Klitschkos at times didn't look good.

In my honest opinion Tyson Fury has a chance to go down as the Greatest Heavyweight Champion ever! Finish out your
career strong. Then Fury, his wife and 7 kids can ride off into the sunset! We may never see another fighter like him in our
lifetimes. Not gonna be too hard on him as a win is a win even if it was an ugly win. He controled most of the fight outside
of the one big punch that dropped him.

People that layed 14 to 1 on Fury to win this sweated that one. I don't think Fury thought Ngannou had much fundamental boxing memory and thought he could walk through him after he softened him. This was close to the most embarassing performance in boxing history worse than Tyson vs Douglas as Douglas was a legitimate contender. If the WBC had the title on the line Fury would have probably won a wider decision as Ngannou was tiring but with his sleep walking it's conceivable he would have been counting sheep too.

Fury didn't realize what kind of strength Ngannou had nor his conditioning, things that worked on Wilder with wrestling on the inside was nullified.

PS the odds will tighten on the super bout now as Fury needs to be full engaged and to drop at least 10 pounds of pure flab.

Agreed on some aspects, such as every fighter can have a bad day. But it is infuriating that Tyson Fury, for all his skill, doesn’t respect himself or the sport enough to get in better shape. He clearly didn’t take this fight seriously. Ngannou did and it showed.

Fury has the chance to cement his place in history and he allows a guy who has never boxed before to as split decision?

Yes he fought very poorly but I've seen countless champions do the same thing. To say it was the worst performance is an exageration.
When Wladimir Klitschko fought Tyson Fury all he did was punch at air the whole fight and he was champion coming into that fight.
Wlad looked worse than Fury tonight. I could bring up M.Ali fights and countless other guys. Fury did overlook him but he won an
ugly fight between two very big guys and it was a sloppy fight on both sides.

I thought this fight was an odd move for Fury to make with the high stakes Usyk fight at stake if Fury lost. They must have waved some big cash in his face to consent to this semi debacle. He claimed to have been in camp double his normal time spent training. Maybe he ate twice as much to make up for it. I never say the other guy as a pushover but like Ali our Irishman was able to pull it off without looking good.

I never forget that Fury is of Traveler descent. Not the most stable people and not to be relied upon to say the least.

We'll see which Fury shows up against Usyk. If he does show up.

I meant if he lost and the guys Ali looked terrible with were pro boxers. As well as Ngannou did he still threw some combinations like a novice. He's just STRONG and powerful punching like an elite boxer but Fury should have just popped him with the jab like he did to take the lead in the scoring after the knock down.

The only reason Ngannou was a 14 to 1 dog instead of a 50 to 1 dog was because of casual fans who don't understand the difference between boxing and MMA striking. In my mind this was a fight where I needed to collect 30 to 1 or longer to bet on the MMA fighter.

Agreed that Wlad looked worse, but I think the difference here is that this was Ngannou’s first boxing match. He is not (or was’t) a boxer prior to tonight.

Fury can sometimes be frustrating in his tendency to perform up to or down to his competition.

I agree because of the opponent it was embarassing but at the end of the day he won. Very relieved to say that.

Wlad was clearly at the end of his career because of advanced age for a boxer - not lack of dedication. Big difference - and he fought a young Fury and it was a close fight. Fury has turned into a clown plain and simple. He should just retire and should have already retired. Now if he suddenly gets in great shape and beats Usyk how does that make our champions look? Either way I will be pulling for Usyk and hope that Francis gets completely schooled by Usyk later on. Not to mention that Fury lost me when he bragged about Francis' BBC. What a cuck homophilic statement. No thanks. He can go back to the gypsy carovans for all I care.

Fury is an embarrassment. He displays tnb which we so much despise here. He barely beat McDermott who is C level at best. Wallin gave him all kinds of problems. No way he should have struggled against an MMA fighter. I will never forget when he was losing on the cards to Steve Cunningham who move up from cruiserweight. Cunningham was 205 pounds maybe and beating Fury and even dropped him once. Think about that. This guy is a clown and bum of the highest order. I literally hate him now.

McDermott he was a prospect and eked it out so I can't fault him there but Fury just isn't switched on unless he knows he is in danger. The whole fight reminded me of Rocky I with reversed ethnicities. I remember the line of Apollo's trainer of "he doesn't know it's a show he thinks it's for real".

Well what about Cunningham knocking him down and outboxing him until Fury knocked him out. That was horrible. Cunningham moved up from cruiserweight and was maybe 210 pounds that fight.
