I see where Clarett is suppose to be released by Denver. Apparently, he was slow to rehab from a groin injury and his "work ethic" was questioned. BIg Suprise. I can't believe Shanahan & the Denver front office could waste a third round pick on this guy.Of course I'm certain this stiff will get another opportunity somewhere else.Shanahan isalso giving a second chance to another bum named Ron Dayne. He must have a thing for plodding black running backs.


Ironically, the primarily white offensive line that has been a fixture in Denver for the pastdecade or so has made stars out of justabout anybody they put back there to carry the ball.


The hypocrisy that bums like Clarett andLawrence Phillipsget multiple chances and the Luke Staleys, Chance Kretschmers & Jesse Lumsdens of the world never get a fair shake. Other than the astute individuals on this site,no else appears to give a damn.

I agree with everything you wrote.

Clarett is slow, fat, lazy and spoiled. Also, turds like Clarett get a thousand times the media attention they merit.

Clarett is a lazy slow bum. Had he the brains and guts to graduate from Ohio State his chances at pro football would have been much improved. The honest truth is Clarett couldn't carry Kyle Eckel's jock strap! Kyle is 5'11 240lbs bigger,stronger,faster and smarter then Clarett. Clarett did one year at OSU-Kyle did four years at the Naval Academy. Phillips is a born criminal-Dayne is fat,slow and over rated. Not even giving Staley, Kretschmer and Lumsden a fair chance is pure racism. White fans should boycott the NFL until more Whites get a fair deal at running back and defense.

This despicable cretin had one good season at Ohio State and ever since then forests have been cut down singing his praises and following his every move. Besides being criminally inclined, he's fat and lazy as a football player, yet the Caste System media just couldn't get enough of him.

I can't think of someone who had more advantages and then threw them away! He was on the Denver Bronocos for crying out loud, they produce good RBs (especially from the 6th rd.) like crazy thanks to the unique zone blocking schemes they use and STILL Clarett TNBs it!!

Maurice Clarett was the most over hyped piece of trash ever. As a runner he had no moves and was slow. As a personhe turned out toto be a criminaly inclied buffon. I got a good laugh out of his last escapad when I herd it on the news.

A female sportswriter from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Shelly Anderson,wrote a piece about Clarett the other day called "Clarett's Fall Sad but Familiar."Given the title, ifit were anything remotely objective one would expect to find a listcomprising atiny fraction of theparade of black athletic "heroes" charged with serious crimes each year, along with a mention of Mark Chmura or Jeff Reardon thrown in to cover the "diversity" needs of PC totalitarianism.


But Shelly went well beyond the call of duty. Here are Clarett's fellow "fallen athletes," in the order in which they are mentioned -- Pete Rose, Art Schlichter, Darryl Strawberry, Denny McLain, John Daly, and Lawrence Phillips. Four of the six singled out for mention are white, going back 20-30 years in the cases of McLain, Rose and Schlichter, when at least 98 percent of the athletes arrested for serious crimes are black.


And has John Daly ever been arrested for anything? As far as I know his most serious "crime" has been drinking to excess. To lump him in with Lawrence Phillips is obscene.


Of course, it's a lot tougher for a black to be a "fallen athlete" than a white. John Daly has a drinking problem and has been divorced a few times and is pronounced a "fallen athlete" while accused murderer Ray Lewis and a small army of black athletes with felonious backgrounds can't get enough love from the media, so maybe Shelly has a point.
