Well youtube has taken it down saying copywright infringement yet there are tons of highlights of affletes in the nfl on there that remain there. Does anyone know of another outlet to put highlight videos that a large amount of viewers would see? or how to get around the youtube copywright for the nfl?

well i uploaded my video to megaupload if anyone if familiar with that although it can be tricky to get a file off of it, you just type in the 3 letter code.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JKL1JBRR if anyone is interested.
I would upload it to youtube again but i dont want to be banned and i dont know how many chances they give you, plus i have tons of college football players highlights to make so i dont wanna be banned yet. theres got to be an alternative for youtube but everyone i find has nothing to do with football

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8851334142718890727& hl=en

i still find it odd that my video gets taken down off of youtube after 25 views when tons of other nfl players get to stay on. what gives? Do they take down more White players highlights?

Thanks dwid. Looks like Jones is really developing as a wide receiver. I expect a pro bowl season next year. Don't underestimate the difficulty of converting from qb to wr. A lot of great affletes have tried it with minimal success.

Thank you dwid: Garrard looked good as a QB in this video, but overall he is too inconsistent. Garrard is in the middle of the pack of QBs in the league; so it will be hard for Jones to make the Pro-bowl unless Garrard improves some. Jones really came of age last season and looks like a future star in the making!

Excellent work, dwid!

I hope Jax uses Jones more as a downfield weapon this season. That will make his shorter routes and YAC even more deadly. Unfortunately Garrard is better at the dink 'n dunk than stretching the field.

thanks for the compliments guys. Yes Gerrard is in the middle of the pack when it comes to qbs and is inconsistent (mainly on longer passes) but has some good moments, but he often chooses to throw a short safe pass when something deeper is open (maybe he has accuracy issues with throwing deep), the dinking and dunking to the safety valves got so bad going through the videos i just looked up the play by play logs and did Ctrl Find Matt Jones and scrolled through the video with any pass to him that went for more than 5 yards.

Wow simply ridiculous. I hate to say it, but again Canadian law handles stuff like drug addiction better. They treat you as an addict for even the hardcore drugs and you don't become a convicted felon for it for 1st offense like you can in many states in America. In Canada they also wouldn't invade your privacy for something like Drinking alcohol if you are an adult if you're abiding by the law. Smoking Weed (considered a light drug) is only a ticketable offense now in Ontario where I come from and if you do it in your home they normally won't bother you.

They also can't drug test you in Canada for a job without a legitimate reason. For instance a safety job like airline pilot, police officer or possibly doctor. On other jobs if I recall they would need to present evidence that being under the influence of something was effecting your work performance to a judge to drug test if they wanted to save themselves from a possible gripe for firing. Tell me if I'm wrong here fellow Canadians; it's been a little while now since I've lived there permanently. Do I have the law correct?

I guess this means Matt Jones is faced with having another shortened playing season this time for simply drinking a beer...

It wasn't a drug test that revealed the alcohol use. Jones simply admitted to the judge that he drank beer on a golf outing; probably in response to a direct question under oath. I have never seen someone's probation revoked for drinking beer, even though it is often one of the stipulated prohibitions. The bottom line is he is stupid for admitting it to the judge. As this is a high profile case, the judge probably felt obligated to follow the letter of the probation agreement.

Unfortunately, Obama and his cronies will only make the police state bigger and more intrusive. Using the economic depression as the means, who knows how far they will take things.

As for Jones, does anyone know if he will be suspended for any games for this "despicable" offense?

Yeah they certainly couldn't invade your home. An asthmatic neighbor or something would have to be really plugging away with complaints and they'd have to see you when they came to the door or something.

And, yeah this past summer when I was back in Canada, I went to a bar briefly one night (FYI the drinking age is 19 in Ontario, 18 in most of the Provinces) and when I came out to the Parking lot there were a bunch of young people just smoking weed right there in the parking lot.

I saw a cop drive right by the lot on the street when I was getting in my car and this group didn't panic at all. The certainly weren't too scared. I couldn't believe it. I don't really get out to bars in the city much, but I must say I was a bit surprised their lack of reaction to the cop.

I would be willing to bet on it that Jones will face another suspension (and probably more than one game again) since it's violating his probation for his last offense. I think this situation is pretty ridiculous myself.

Just as we knew would happen, Jones is now routinely lumped in with the league's worst felons. Mark Chmura must be relieved, looks like he's off the hook now, a decade after beingacquitted of the charges against him but often included in lists of criminals anyway for racial balance:

<H1>How next few months look for Vick</H1>

Then again, there have been other NFL players with serious legal troubles who readily found employment in the league. Running back Jamal Lewis, for instance, served a four-month prison sentence in 2005 after pleading guilty to charges related to cocaine trafficking. The Baltimore Ravens welcomed him back. They also welcomed back linebacker Ray Lewis after he pled guilty to obstruction of justice in connection with a homicide. The Ravens aren't the only forgiving franchise. Other teams have employed Adam "Pacman" Jones, Travis Henry, Matt Jones, Larry Johnson and other players with various legal woes. At the end of the day, teams seem most interested in pursuing the obvious: winning games. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/michael_mccann/05/20/vick/?eref=T1

As pathetic as that is, it isn't even accurate. Jones was not employed after his "various legal woes." He was suspended by the league and then cut by the Jaguars and remains unsigned. Edited by: Don Wassall

The most pathetic thing is that all he did was have some beers with his friends playing golf.

Starwars, they have to mention Jones in the article for fear of being called racist. Any white player, no matter how minor the charge, has to be listed along with the black thugs.

The thoroughly demonized Matt Jones finally gets some good news as he won't be suspended again by the NFL:

Agent: Jones fined for violating program

Former first-round pick Matt Jones, a free agent receiver who was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars in March, has been notified he will not be suspended as the result of his violation of a court-mandated drug program, his agent said.

Jones was informed by the NFL last week that he will be fined $50,000 but not suspended. Even then, the NFL Players Association has convinced Jones to appeal the fine, according to Dave Butz, his agent.

Jones was suspended for the final three games of the 2008 season after he lost a league appeal stemming from his arrest for cocaine possession last July. In that case, Jones entered an Arkansas drug diversion program but was sent to jail for five days in March as punishment for drinking alcohol; Jones told the court he had "two beers" during a golf outing, a violation of the conditions placed upon him.

The Jaguars released him shortly thereafter.

An NFL spokesman declined to comment Tuesday, a standard response until the appeal process runs its course. Regardless, Jones will not face a suspension for the 2009 season if he is signed by an NFL team.

"That's the main message -- that Matt will be available to any team looking for a proven receiver," Butz said.

Asked about the perception that Jones has been "a bust," Butz countered, "Well, he caught 65 passes in 12 games last year for the Jaguars and he was their No. 1 receiver. If he wasn't hurt one game and didn't have the three-game suspension, he may have caught 80 to 90 balls.

"In his first two years, he was the third most productive receiver of his rookie class, despite some musical chairs at quarterback. So that 'bust' tag isn't fair, at all."

Jones has been training hard for six hours a day during the offseason, Butz said.

"He wants to prove himself all over again," Butz said. "He has stated very clearly that he regrets some decisions he's made but he's moving forward. I mean, the Jaguars didn't cut him after the [arrest] last summer. They saw a different guy; there was just a different reaction when he had the two beers. I see a guy who's very hungry to make a strong contribution to a team."

While Jones is "eager to turn the page," the agent explained why he is appealing the $50,000 fine, payable if he is employed again by a team.

"The [players] union believes the league has no right to fine Matt any money because the substance abuse policy won't allow it," Butz said. "In the letter the league sent, it seemed to cite personal conduct but the union believes because it involved alcohol, it should have kicked back to the substance abuse policy without penalty."

Nice. Now any team that signs him won't have to worry about him not playing a couple games. This should help his odds. Surely some team like the Patriots, Saints, Chargers, Cowboys, or Broncos could use him effectively.

At least his agent believes in him and as been given him support! Come back stronger than ever, shut your critics up,and be the NFL's version of Chris "the Birdman" Anderson!!
