The Big Dance is upon us!

This weekend is probably my favorite regular sporting event, rivaled only by World Cup group stage game days every four years. It's hard to follow every white standout and white-friendly team throughout the season (especially with the bias toward the 'big brands' and their players who are already predetermined stars). The positive here is that this weekend always exposes the world to a few new standouts and a few blessed athletes who have a transcendent game or even just moment of their lives.

I'm happy to carry the torch and write up all 4 regional previews in the spirit of MIA poster Jack Lambert. Looking at my schedule for the week, I believe I will get them all done by Wednesday evening at the latest. If another contributor wants to help with the deep dives and claim a region for themselves, that's terrific too.

In the meantime, we can post in this thread about predictions, sleepers, and media (dis)respect.

I HATE the Colgate-Wisconsin matchup... the committee did this on purpose IMO to pair a white-friendly underdog with a white-friendly institution. They don't want too many of our guys on TV in the later rounds!

Also agree Colgate Vs Wisconsin is shame to see them face 1st round. Colgate is 2nd best 3pt shooting team in America, so Wisconsin will have it's hands full. Looking forward to the write-ups!

Phall, I appreciate the effort. I used to chip in for the past write ups but my knowledge of college hoops is at an all time low. Just have had too much going on in my personal and work life this year.

East Regional

#1 Baylor
The Bears’ sole bright spot is senior wing Matthew Mayer, who has seemingly seen his role decline this season despite returning to the national champs with pro potential. He’ll probably have a huge game against a white-friendly team at some point, since that’s just always how it works. Sophomore center Zach Loveday doesn’t get any minutes.

#16 Norfolk State
The Spartans are an HCBU and as such, entirely black.

#8 North Carolina
Under new black coach Hubert Davis, the Tar Heels don’t offer much to white athletes. Oklahoma transfer Brady Manek has been a pleasant surprise, winning himself a bigger role throughout the season as a regular starter and, often enough, a top scorer and rebounder. He’s a smart, inside-out big man with range and should get a shot an an NBA roster. Nothing else to see here.

#9 Marquette
The Golden Eagles start redshirt freshman point guard Tyler Kolek, who averages 6.8 ppg and 5.7 apg. He’s a lousy shooter but a talented distributor for this otherwise coal-black squad.

#5 Saint Mary’s
The Gaels are one of the most white-centric teams in Division 1. They have two blacks, one Turk, and one Polynesian on their roster; only the Polynesian gets minutes off the bench. The top players are Estonian center Matthias Tass and guards Tommy Kuhse and Logan Johnson. Saint Mary’s has a lot of experienced upper classmen on the roster, have only lost to one non-tournament team, and own a victory over the top-seeded Zags already. In his 21st season, head coach Randy Bennett has built up an admirable program in the wake of Gonzaga’s juggernaut.

#12 Indiana
The Hoosiers start Northwestern transfer Miller Kopp at small forward and play freshman point guard Trey Galloway more than 20 minutes per game. They also have freshman center Logan Duncomb waiting on the bench and another white recruit committed for the future. Ironically, new black head coach Mike Woodson shows more attention to white players than former caste cuck Archie Miller.


#4 UCLA
The Bruins return a lot of minutes from their surprise run from the play-in game last year. Mexican / “white hispanic” Jaime Jaquez Jr. is a capable scorer. UCLA has three whites tucked away on the bench - only guard Jake Kyman occasionally rotates in for a short spell.

#13 Akron
The Zips have one white freshman who doesn’t get off the bench. They will zip their way to a first-round exit.

#6 Texas
New coach Chris Beard leads a much darker Longhorns team than his previous Texas Tech teams. Junior forward Brock Cunningham averages 11 minutes off the bench this season, effectively making him the last player in a 9-man rotation. Texas stocks a short handful of white walk-ons deep down on the bench.

#11 Virginia Tech
The Hokies start a sharp backcourt duo of Hunter Cattoor and Storm Murphy, who average 10 and 8.1 ppg, respectively. Backup guard Sean Pedulla spells them off the bench as a backup. Virginia Tech is riding high off an ACC tournament win, as they likely were not otherwise receiving an at-large bid.

#3 Purdue
The Boilermakers would be on the #2 seed line if they’d edged Iowa in the Big Ten conference tourney. As such, they’re still poised for a run toward coach Matt Painter’s first ever Final Four. The Boilermakers start behemoth Zach Edey at center and veteran Sasha Stefanovic at shooting guard. They also play two true freshman, Caleb Furst and Ethan Morton, about 15 mpg each. While the Boilermakers’ white players aren’t necessarily the stars, Edey is a matchup nightmare, and this remains one of the CF favorites amongst the contenders with a true shot at cutting down some nets.

#14 Yale
The Bulldogs team doesn’t really represent its student body very well, as the entire rotation is black save for sophomore guard August Mahoney, who’s averaging a mere 15 minutes per game as the sole white contributor. Yale’s bottom half of the roster is very white, making this team a caste caricature. Thumbs down!

#7 Murray State
The Racers went 30-2 this season and were undefeated in the Ohio Valley Conference. They have only one white player on their roster, who doesn’t get more than a few token minutes on any given night.

#10 San Francisco
The Dons have plenty of friendly faces on their roster. Belarusian power forward Yauhen Massalski averages 13.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg, and 2.2 bpg. Italian guard Gabe Stefanini joins him as a starter, and backup guard Julian Rishwain plays 19 minutes per game. San Francisco also brings a couple of Baltic big men off their bench to eat a few minutes per half. While not overwhelming, this team is certainly watchable.

#2 Kentucky
The Wildcats are approaching the singularity, rostering only one white walk-on.

#15 St. Peter’s
The Peacocks won the MAAC tournament but only played one NCAA tourney team all season - a definitive loss to Providence. They start junior shooting guard Doug Edert, who is the only white player on their roster.


For CF fans, root for the upsets in this region, as it's fairly slim pickings overall. The top teams are Purdue, St. Mary's, San Francisco, and Virginia Tech.

South Regional

#1 Arizona
The Wildcats hired former Gonzaga assistant Tommy Lloyd to lead a program for the first time in his career, and his rookie season is paying dividends already. Lloyd and Gonzaga have been known as white-friendly, and so far, his time in Tucson has been no different. Lithuanian big Azuolas Tubelis averages 14.5 mpg and 6.4 rpg, and Estonian fellow starter Kerr Kriisa runs the point. Swedish guard Pelle Larsson contributes off the bench. Arizona rosters 9 white athletes on its team (albeit several walk-ons in this group) and should be a CF favorite for years to come.

#16 Wright State
The Raiders defeated Bryant in the play-in game after winning the Horizon League tourney. They feature eleven white players on their team roster, a tremendous tally. Forward Grant Basile, guard Tim Finke, and center AJ Braun are penciled in as starters. Their few black players do feature prominently, though.

#8 Seton Hall
The Pirates have a white head coach and an all-black team. Nary even a white walk-on dilutes the pure melanin flowing through the rivers of South Orange, New Jersey.

#9 TCU
The Horned Frogs play guard Francisco Farabello 19 mpg off the bench as the only white player in their 9-man rotation. They have one white walk-on at the very bottom of their team statistics.

#5 Houston
The Cougars are an analytic darling this season and a popular upset pick. Racist head coach Kelvin Sampson keeps one white walk-on at the end of his bench for maximum humiliation.

#12 UAB
UAB enters as the 12 seed after stealing a bid by winning the Conference USA tournament. Starting senior guard Michael Ertel is the third-leading scorer at 10 ppg. The Blazers have one white walk-on who doesn’t factor into the gameplan.

#4 Illinois
The Illini are a very black team, but occasionally offer some minutes to underclassmen Luke Goode and Brandin Podziemski, who should both feature more prominently next year. For the time being, the team offers little reason to watch.

#13 Chattanooga
The Mocs start junior shooting guard A.J. Caldwell and bring Grant Ledford off the bench. Neither are prominent scorers.


#6 Colorado State
The Rams are a very racially-segregated team, with its black players playing and its white players sitting. Sophomore center James Moors is the first to break the taboo, coming off the bench for about 12 mpg, along with senior forward Adam Thistlewood. Four white walk-ons sit even further past them on the bench, where the Colorado air really starts to get thin.

#11 Michigan
The Wolverines have been inconsistent on the year, as their coveted superstar freshmen have largely laid eggs in terms of performance. The team’s best player is sophomore center Hunter Dickinson, who has also admittedly disappointed after a Freshman All-American campaign last season. Dickinson hasn’t really improved his fringe draft stock despite shooting the occasional three. Michigan has one other white scholarship player, freshman Will Tschetter, sitting as a redshirt. Walk-on Jaron Faulds might get a few spot minutes if Michigan bigs get into foul trouble. Head coach Juwan Howard is now most famous for striking an opposing (white) coach in the face.

#3 Tennessee
The Volunteers keep an uncharacteristic eight white athletes on their roster (including walk-ons). Uruguayan guard Santiago Vescovi and Serbian center Uros Plavsic both start, and big man John Fulkerson is the sixth man. Vescovi in particular is at the least option 1B on the floor for this ensemble cast. Tennessee is a very trendy pick to run the table, as they just ran through the field during the SEC tournament.

#14 Longwood
The Lancers often play ten players and bring forward Jesper Granlund and guard Nate Lliteras off the bench. They have one white walk-on.

#7 Ohio State
The Buckeyes have a few key white role players breaking up their monotony. Big man Kyle Young is the third-leading scorer off the bench. Sharpshooter Justin Ahrens plays starter’s minutes, and center Joey Trunk has been a recent high-energy addition to the starting lineup. Young is a game-time decision for Friday’s showdown.

#10 Loyola-Chicago
The Ramblers play a very deep rotation that includes starting point guard Braden Norris and backups Ryan Schwieger, Jacob Huston, and Tom Welch. This team won’t be sentimental favorites like Cameron Krutwig’s 2018 squad.

#2 Villanova
Villanova is led by all-conference star point guard Collin Gillespie, who returned after a season-ending knee injury for a super senior season. Two-time champion coach Jay Wright is creeping up on college basketball coaching royalty status, especially if he can pull off another Final Four run. Gillespie’s backup is Chris Arcidiacono, the younger brother of former national champion Ryan. The Wildcats seem to stockpile white American point guards as a caste-breaking anomaly. When Arcidiacono slides up into a starting role next year, true freshman Angelo Brizzi will keep the line going as his understudy. Oddly, these are the only white players on the roster.

#15 Delaware
The Fightin’ Blue Hens feature two white starters, Dylan Painter and Andrew Carr, and bring Gianmarco Arletti off the bench. There are a few other white players deep on the bench.


For CF fans, Arizona is the team to beat, Villanova has a white star, and Tennessee has a prolific starter and two contributors. Michigan’s Hunter Dickinson will often be the best player on the court during any given game, even if he looks a bit lonely out there.

West Regional

#1 Gonzaga
The Zags are the top seed for the second year in a row. They are led by a returning First Team All American Drew Timme and potential #1 NBA Draft pick Chet Holmgren. This front court has helped produce the fastest and most efficient offense in the country.

Head coach Mark Few is traditionally white-friendly. While his two stars are white, the rest of this season's eight man rotation is not. He has some firepower for the future in underclassmen Martynas Arlauskas and Ben Gregg, but they’re unlikely to see the court absent a blowout or two. Because of Gonzaga’s two stars, this should still be a strong CF favorite. I’ll be looking for based John Stockton in the stands supporting his alma mater after the school barred him from home games due to his refusal to wear a mask.

The Zags are going for their first-ever national title. The analytics give them about a 25% chance: by far the highest of any team in the field. They are picked as the winners in about 32% of bracket submissions, according to the sports websites.

#16 Georgia State
The Sun Belt Conference’s representative team is compromised completely of blacks, save for one Chinese freshman (by way of Taiwan). They have a 0% chance of advancing.

#8 Boise State
The Broncos are an intriguing, caste-friendly team. True freshman swingman Tyson Degenhart played his way into the starting lineup and is at least occasionally the team’s lead scoring threat. Serbian big man Mladen Armus joins him in the starting lineup, and Max Rice, Pavle Kuzmanovic, and Lukas Milner pitch in from the bench in what is usually an 8-9 man rotation.

#9 Memphis
The Tigers are an all-black operation coached by the tragically-named Anfernee Hardaway, who “made waves” with his “recruiting prowess” (paying high school kids under the table). Now that this is basically legal, we’ll see how his competitive advantage evens out in the coming seasons. Memphis has had a couple of top recruiting classes with nothing to show for it, and there’s plenty of blame to be put on the coaching staff, which includes curmudgeonly lonsman Larry Brown. Expect a couple of high-flying dunks and quite a few mental collapses. Freshman forward John Camden, a top-100 recruit, is mired at the end of the bench with one walk-on white. They don’t sniff playing time.

#5 UConn
The Huskies are another all-black outfit, coached by the enthusiastic racial cuck Dan Hurley. Hurley, like many before him, is a former collegiate star who does not see himself in the players he brings aboard. The team is redshirting freshman forward Alex Karaban and has signed a couple more white players in the upcoming classes, which is a big departure from Hurley's first four years at the helm here. For the time being, though, there is nothing to cheer for. Karaban and two white walk-ons will be waving towels at the end of the bench.

#12 New Mexico State
New Mexico State is a prolific tournament presence from the WAC, winning the conference tournament in 8 of the past 10 years. They have a white coach and an entirely black roster, save for a 6’10, 273 lbs Mexican freshman who is taking a redshirt year.

#4 Arkansas
Head coach Eric Musselman loves blacks so much, he even married one! The Razorbacks have one scholarship white, the towering 7’3 Connor Vanover, who doesn’t feature in the rotation. Vanover will be joined at the end of the bench by two white walk-ons.

#13 Vermont
The Catamounts are not quite as white-friendly as you might expect, but have plenty to cheer for as an underdog. Senior big man Ryan Davis is their leading scorer at 17.2 ppg. Guard Finn Sullivan joins him as a starter, and Robin Duncan, Nick Fiorillo, and Bailey Patella have defined roles off the bench. Vermont is the most popular #13 seed upset pick, and Arkansas got blown out by non-tournament team Texas A&M in their conference tourney, so don’t feel guilty writing them down on your bracket sheet.

#6 Alabama
The Tide bring the racial caste traditions of SEC football to the basketball court. Alabama stashes three white walk-ons at the end of the bench to do homework assignments for the team’s real players. Coach Nate Oats uses a pure ‘analytics’-style offense where his team takes nothing but three pointers and layups. This worked better last year when it wasn’t as predictable.

#11 Notre Dame
Notre Dame edged Rutgers in double overtime Wednesday night for the brand’s first ‘March Madness’ conclusion. Relegated to a play-in game, the Fighting Irish were the lowest-rated at-large team by the selection committee. They played a very tough schedule without much success and were rewarded for their efforts in defeat.

Long-time coach Mike Brey has always been white-friendly with his rosters, and this year is no big exception. Guard Dane Goodwin leads an even-keeled team in scoring with 13.9 ppg. Ageless 6'5 guard Cormac Ryan joins him as a starter, and deep threat Nate Laszewski plays a big role in a very tight 7-man rotation. Notre Dame could be gassed by the end of their weekend.

Rutgers starting point guard Paul Mulcahy played well in defeat. He’ll have a bigger role next year once the Scarlet Knights turn over a chunk of their roster.

#3 Texas Tech
Redshirt freshman big Daniel Batcho plays 10 minutes per game, and that’s all the white participants you’ll be seeing during a typical Red Raiders game.

#14 Montana State
The Bobcats won the Big Sky conference tourney and finished atop the league standings, too. Starting guard Tyler Patterson is a ‘3-and-D’ guy with relative low-usage. The roster is racially 50-50, but the blacks dominate playing time. Boring, low-probability upset bid.

#7 Michigan State
Tom Izzo usually stocks a couple of white glue guys on his roster. This year, it’s just super senior Joey Hauser, a nominal starter and overall fifth option. Izzo keeps three white walk-ons, including his son, on the bench for posterity.

#10 Davidson
The Wildcats dropped their Atlantic Ten tourney final to Richmond but made the field easily as an at-large. Davidson starts four whites and a Korean, bringing one white and two blacks off their bench. This is pretty much the anti-caste team of the field. They’re led by MSU transfer Foster Loyer, an undersized scoring dynamo and volume shooter who will be chomping at the bit to show up his former team. This matchup will be billed as a highlight of the first round.

#2 Duke
The Blue Devils are a far cry from Coach K’s white-friendly halcyon days. Senior Joey Baker, formerly the #41 recruit in his 2018 class, has been relegated to 7th man status as a senior. He doesn’t contribute much to this very black roster. Look for lots of media fawning as this ’suddenly likable’ team tries to send its hall of fame coach out on a high note.

#15 Cal State Fullerton
The Titans have one white player who rides the end of the pine.


CF fans can happily pencil in chalk with Gonzaga here. Davidson, Notre Dame, Vermont, and Boise State are fun yet unlikely underdogs.

Nice write-ups @Phall ! Helluva win for Notre Dame as the clock strikes midnight and it's officially Saint Patrick's Day! Goodwin, Lazewski, and Ryan all played great! Admittedly Atkinson was a force for them in the paint! Also their Black guard had some legit wheels and made a few clutch layups. Notre Dame is how a team should be! Good balance racially and on the court.

Excited for Mulcahy in an extended role next season! Really think he can up his scoring total, to go along with his all around play. SHOULD be another American Guard in The NBA down the line.

Guard Peter Kiss finished with a hard earned 28pts. Can't believe I had never heard of the guy until this week. Next level talent,if he was an upsider. Also his "antics" would never be questioned.

Wright State Big Man Grant Basile had 14pts 8reb and 2blks.

Midwest Regional

#1 Kansas
The Jayhawks have been as dominant as expected. Christian Braun is a “1-B” star on this squad, yet he has no NBA future (see here https://castefootball.us/index.php?threads/lottery-pick-or-nba-afterthought.38649/#post-796563 ). Braun gets minimal credit as a stud for this prolific team, which otherwise features no whites.

#16 Texas Southern
Texas Southern is an HCBU.

#8 San Diego State
The Aztecs don’t really feature white players, ever.

#9 Creighton
The Blue Jays are led by senior forward Ryan Hawkins, Duke cast-off senior Max O’Connell, and sophomore load Ryan Kalkbrenner. The team trends as white-friendly.

#5 Iowa
This normally white-centric Iowa team cedes to its current top dog, Keegan Murray (black). Jordan Bohannon is not quite a pure point guard but runs the team's sets from half-court and shoots well. The McCafferery brothers otherwise are rooting interests; I’d say come back another time.

#12 Richmond
I can’t quite tell how Tyler Burton chooses to classify himself. May God bless him. The Spiders snuck in by beating Davidson in their conference tourney and are kind of on borrowed time…. unless!

#4 Providence
The Friars start senior forward Noah Horchler, who doesn’t accumulate many stats for the team and is the only white contributor.

#13 South Dakota State
Swing forward Baylor Schierman is the jack of all trades as a 6’6 under recruited sophomore who is killing it in the Summit League. The undefeated Summit League champs also tout forward Luke Appel and guards Noah Friedel and Alex Arians, who are all surely chomping at the bit for some tournament time.

#6 LSU
Will Wade just got fired for purchasing some amount of this roster. The team must be in relative disarray… unless they want to prove him wrong by playing for free! (they’ve already been paid, so not applicable). If there is a white player in the rotation, let him shout it out during the wedding procession! (there isn’t one)

#11 Iowa State
The Cyclones play only Aljaz Kunc, a Balkan big who has had a hard time. Carter Boothe will slide up from the end of the bench next year into the do-nothing role.

#3 Wisconsin
The Badgers are always white-friendly but find themselves led by top black Johnny Davis. Shooting guard Brad Davison can kill his opponents with kindness or meanness. The Badgers play 4 whites in their 8 man rotation, I think.

#14 Colgate
Colgate is par excellence in a Tiny Tim Team. They blew out Syracuse early in the season. Head Coach Matt Langel is smart, sharp, and can definitely play the angles in one matchup. I picked super-senior guard Jack Ferguson and sophomore LOAD Woodward onto my DREAM TEAM; not without reason.This is the last game of March Madness at 10:10pm Friday night! let’s all watch!

#7 USC
6’9 Drew Peterson starts at guard and is probably the second-best player on the team. The Trojans also have one white on the bench as a walk-on.

#10 Miami (FL)
The Hurricanes have no white contributing players.

#2 Auburn
The top player is ‘big time stud’ (black) Jabari Smith, and the unsung hero is Walker Kessler, second in the nation with 4.5 blocks per game! Kessler is the lone (and key) contributor on this weird squad he selected as last year’s transfer. While this is a black-centric squad, Kessler keeps shooting up draft boards with his contribution!

#15 Jax State
Jacksonville State had a weird path to this tourney: they won the Atlantic Sun Conference via record, but lost in the semi-finals of the conference tourney to Bellarmine, yet placed themselves here on a technicality. Center Maros Zeliznak gets a bit of big man rotation as the only white player on this team.


For our CF audience, we should cheer on Iowa and Wisconsin and celebrate the underdogs at South Dakota State, Colgate, and Creighton.

Yeah tough loss for SDSU. I was impressed with Scheierman(18pts, 9reb, 3ast), first time I've seen him play all year.

Wisconsinite and Guard for SDSU Alex Arians also had a solid game for Jackrabbits. 13pts and 7 boards.


Good point on the lure of NIL money though.. Be interesting where he ends up.
