Bute is still undefeated!!!   According to this write Bute is slow and wouldn't be able to compete with Ward or Dirrell.  http://www.boxingnews24.com/2009/11/how-would-lucian-bute-do-in-the-super-six-tournament/

Boxingnews24 is a spin-off of Eastsideboxing. Just a bunch of fanboys posing as writers. Even ESB had a thread about how much boxingnews24 sucks

That Scott Gilfoid is the worst on there. You can tell he has a hatred of everything European. To answer your question WA33 I think he is a jew. He called Dmitry Salita a puncher
smiley36.gif
and predicted he would score a brutal knockout of Khan. He says Kevin Mitchell is nothing more than a limited European fighter with a primitive caveman style and predicts Prescott will score a second round kayo. If anyone fights like a caveman it's Prescott but you can't reason with DWFs.

So Lucian Bute has signed to fight Edison Miranda April 17 on HBO.

Jesse Brinkley deserved the title shot more, having won the eliminator last weekend. But Jewish media bosses like Ross Greenburg have a big say in who fights on TV, and it seems they give negro boxers THREE chances for every ONE opportunity given to a white boxer.

HBO is selling the black vs white angle as well as the Candian venue where Bute is HUGE. I really can't blame them. Brinkley had a good win last Friday, but right now he doesn't generate the buzz Mirandize does. Yeah Miranda talks alot of smack, but win lose or draw he always brings it. It should be exciting especially the first three rounds. Then Bute class and superior boxing abilities will take over. I see a 8 round TKO for Bute. But Lucian has to remain altert, Miranda has devastating power.

I would like to see Brinkley get the payday after paying his dues all these years. Great fight for Jesse last Friday. He really turned in a great performance, right there in front of one Mr. Teddy Atlas, who had predicted that Brinkley wouldn't make it out of the second round. Teddy Witless admitted he was wrong, but he had no choice.

Anyway, a shout out to Jesse for a hell of a good fight. He schooled the kid who had predicted the fight wouldn't go more than 50 seconds.

From fightnews:

Super middleweight contender Jesse Brinkley's valiant IBF eliminator win over Curtis Stevens won't get him an immediate shot at IBF champion Lucian Bute, even though a deal had been worked out. Apparently HBO is "insisting"Â￾ that Bute defend against Edison Miranda instead for their April 17 telecast.

Edison Miranda continues to get title shot after title shot despite putting up terrible performances and being brutally knocked out by Abraham.

This just goes to show how much power HBO REALLY has. Ross Greenburg has more say that what is known to the general public. Golden Boy is in bed with HBO because they knew without him they would get shut out of major fight. Top Rank is kind of on the outside looking in. Heck if Greenburg wanted the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, all he had to say was "Manny do the Olympic drug testing". But this way Mayweather-Mosley will get Golden Boy back to making money off of HBO and they can build Pacquiao-Mayweather or Pacquiao-Mosley fight even more. This will lead to Greenburg stuffing his pockets full of cash. Brinkley should be fighting Bute. But with HBO it's not what you earned to get there but what HBO can earn off of you.

Bute is MUCH closer and also similar in talent to a Calzaghe than a Pavlik. I think Bute would win a fairly easy decision over Hopkins and he might stop him since his hands aren't shot the way Joe's were when he fought Hop, plus Bute is in his prime.

Bute is twice the fighter Pavlik is, he would make mince meat of B-Hop!

Bute is a much more refined boxer than Pavlik ever will be.

If Pavlik manages to score big against Martinez, then he's back in the spotlight, for now.

Pavlik needs to win against Martinez. He's fighting at his comfort level(160lbs) so he won't have any excuses.

Was checking out "Le Tombeur's" record...pretty dadgum impressive with 20 KO/TKOs in 25 fights (whilst undefeated)! I'm hoping he adds Miranda to the KO list this Saturday!

Miranda gets title fight after title fight because he's black. After Abraham brutally KO'd him it should have taken him a while to work his way up. Not so in the world of boxing though.

This is a dangerous fight for Lucian. He has to fight smart and avoid Edison's huge power shots in the 1st five rounds. Then start to open up on him when he starts to tire. I see a 9th to 10th stoppage.

I think Lucian learned his lesson from the 1st Andrade fight....come into the fight in tip top condition. From the photo from HBO he looks ripped and ready to go. Go Bute!!!!

Bute Blasts Miranda in the 3rd</font>

Posted by Ramon Aranda on 04.17.2010</font>

The IBF super middleweight champ
retains his title.</font>

What a
solid performance by IBF super middleweight </span></font>champ Lucian Bute who successfully defended his title against Edison
Miranda at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Bute (26-0, 21 KOs) started off the fight by his keeping Miranda at a
distance with the jab and punches up the middle. Miranda, tried to get
on the inside and mixed in some shots to the body but was generally
swinging wildly during the first two rounds.

Midway through the 3rd, Miranda ate a hard hook to the body that seemed
to hurt, which caused him to begin showboating and asking Bute to come
forward.
Bute took the bait but connected with a brutal left uppercut
that immediately sent Miranda to the canvas face-first.
smiley36.gif
As raucous
crowd watched on, Miranda beat the count but was on queer street,
prompting the referee to correctly wave off the fight.

After the fight, Bute said he'd be willing to fight anyone in the Super
Six World Boxing Classic tournament </span></font>and even acknowledged the challenge laid out by Bernard Hopkins by
saying that he's ready and willing.

Another excellent performance by Bute! He seems to be getting even better.

Miranda showed more technical boxing skills early in this fight than I've seen him use in the past, but Lucian Bute is very intelligent and adaptable.

Miranda was dumb to showboat like that, he just made himself more vulnerable.

Bute is the best fighter at SMW and I would even favor him to beat Calzaghe right now if he came out of retirement. It looks like the Super Six tournament will conclude with the 2nd best fighter at 168 as their Champion. I'd favor Bute over anybody in the SS tournament right now, the dude's a beast.

There is talk that Abraham may quit the Super Six. While it's highly unlikely it is possible. That would be an opportunity for Bute to step in.

If Bute does enter the SS tourney, it will expose him to a much larger audience. Which will make him a bigger name in boxing. He might end 2010 in the Top 10 P4P list if he manages to beat some big names.

Bute might have a contract with someone else (HBO) which is why he wasn't used to replace Taylor.
