Los Angeles Rams General Thread

Rams signed a sumo. My guess is the Rams darken up this year. Letting three solid defensive players just walk was the beginning.

Singning Colby Parkinson at tight end good contract for him 3 year 22.5 million 15 guaranteed. Starter money for him.

I like Parkinson. They needed tight end depth after that devastating knee injury sustained by Higbee.

Aaron Donald retired. Surprised. Great career.
I still rate JJ Watt as the better player, but Donald stayed healthier and thus was great throughout his career. Watt missed north of two seasons worth of games.

Jimmy G signs a one year deal with the Rams, always a good team for a White QB to be on. He'll be suspended for the first two games of the upcoming season.

Rams re-sign LB Christian Rozeboom. They also tendered Michael Hoecht, so two of their three White starters on D last year should be on the team again this year.

Sounds like Wentz is back on the street. I wonder if Stetson Bennett is still in the picture. If not a QB like Michael Pratt, Austin Reed, Devin Leary or Sam Hartman wouldn't be a bad investment.

The Rams have signed second-round draft pick Braden Fiske.

very smart move on the Rams part for drafting him and a pretty good contract for Fiske. Hope he spends his money wisely and watches out for the lady leeches....

Starting ILB Ernest Jones wanted a trade and the Rams obliged, sending him to the Titans. This hopefully allows for Jacob Hummel to take Jones' place in the starting lineup. If that's the case the Rams will have three White starters on D as Christian Rozeboom starts at ILB and rookie Braden Fiske is listed by OurLads as starting at end.

The Rams should give a lot of snaps to former starter Michael Hoecht. I thought he played well the last 2 years but some upsider was drafted. Also, Jonah Williams was waived by the Vikings. Rams would be smart to sign him back up as he was solid too.

It certainly won't be a surprise if Hoecht ends up with stats approaching his very impressive 81 combined tackles last year. Very under-rated even for an overachiever.

The Rams picked up Cody Schrader on waivers from the 49ers.

This could be very interesting. For the Rams to not only sign him but to add him to the active roster on day one. They must see alot in
the kid that they like and who could blame them? It's a shame the lack of respect the kid has got across the league. No doubt about his
talent from any rational independent thinking non racist person that watch's the game of football.

Probably a better spot than the 49ers? That young Rb they’ve got (edit* Kyren Williams), puts up big numbers and he’s the no1 but he’s undersized and made of glass, then they’ve got Blake Corum who’s a big time prospect, hopefully Schrader can somehow get some snaps. They’ve also got a small guy named Ronnie rivers who’s nothing special.

I can see Schrader being 3rd string right away. Williams is likely to miss a few games, but a great talent when healthy. Corum is talented but the jury is still out.

As good a spot as any right now.

Agreed. All three have similar running styles as well. I hope Schrader is able to get meaningful snaps.

What the dwf and media are ignorant to is that schrader ran a faster 40 time than kyran williams (4.61 vs 4.65). Williams is a great back and I have been a fan of his since notre dame. It just goes to show how unimportant 40 times are. Vision, balance, quickness, strength, etc are all vastly more important traits

I thought Jacob Hummel would benefit the most from the trade of Ernest Jones but it looks like veteran Troy Reeder will. He's always been productive when given a chance to start:

I like this article from a Rams fan site which is high on Cody. Even though he had nowhere to run in the preseason games, according to this article Cody still had 35 yards after contact. I liked SF as a landing spot for Cody, I think I like the Rams even more as a team where he may eventually once again overcome the odds and roadblocks facing a White RB.

The Rams under McVey have consistently been one of the most fair teams when giving White athletes opportunities. I plan to do some team previews again and I’m quite certain the Rams will be among the best 3 or 4. Cody is in a good spot.
