If Jeff runs a 4.5 flat he'll be a top 20 pick. If it weren't for this wierd fascination everyone has with Calvin Johnson, the Shark would definitly be the first WR taken. Jeff however has to run below a 4.6, which I'm pretty certain he can, or else he'll be given the Hass treatment. Which is never good.

WhiteCB, I do not think Jeff will be given the complete Hass treatment. I think he will get more of a shot than Hass ever did. Everyone knows the Shark, he plays for ND which is one of the most well known sports teams in the country and every week his games are nationally televised so people realzie he is that good. Has was nestled up in the pac-10 and rarely got to showcase his talents in the NFL.

I'm just saying he will get the Hass treatment if he runs a 4.6 or slower and tells people he's going to play baseball.

Jeff put on a show today in breaking Notre Dame's record in receiving TDs, getting the 23rd of his career. He had 6 catches for 177 yards!

In my opinion, the "Shark" should be the networks dream. Here you have a nice looking, tall, athletic white guy who can be a legitimate two sports star. What is not to like. The same could be said for Tommy Z who could possibly play football & continue his boxing career. Two guys who the ladies will like and the males in this country should look up to.I could see either of these guys selling countless jerseys.Let's hope that they see what is so obvious!Edited by: white lightning

Funny you say that. Last week my wife had a bunch of ladies over making plans for a wedding and as I was watching the post game coverage of the Notre Dame game, a teen age girl saw Brady Quinn on the TV and gushed over how -cute- he looks. Yet, all the media loves the black faces.

I agree. He'll need a great 40 to not be considered "slow." Matt Jones territory would be ideal, a sub-4.5 might be enough. Anything over 4.55 could destroy his career.

I dont think Sharks 40 yard time will be as important as that of other white Receivers...

The Reason being he Plays for Notre Dame

Notre Dame seems to be one of the few schools whose white players get correct uncastesystem treatment...

Shark and Zibby are not knocked by the media in the same way similar white players are.

If Mike Hass had been a ND Receiver,Hed have been top overall pick and probably gone on to be a HOFer

even being white....

Its why i think white high school players would be crazy not to go to the Irish.

He won't fall further then the early 2nd rd, and I'd be very surprised if he fell out of the first round, regardless of 40 times...

he WILL be a first rounder. period. so don't complain. he's having a decent year and has plenty of games left to get his stats up... right now he's on pace for just below 1K yards and over 10 TDs...

Depends on his desire to play 2 sports...during the game they quoted his dad as saying he would liek to pursue both baseball and football...i agree with him, if he wants to play 2 sports he should be able too but it could effect his draft status some. I think he wont drop below the second half of round 2.

isn't it funny how the Shark's desire to play two sports is potentially a negative regarding his draft status, while players like deion sanders and bo jackson were lauded with praise for their ability and desire to play two sports? on top of that, they were every day position players, whereas he'd be a pitcher and not have to endure the every-day grind of, say, an outfielder.

it's just yet another bogus double standard.

No way Does Jeff fall into the second round...

There will be a hell of alot of teams taking receivers..in the first round this year judging by all the drops around the league...There has been talk(its only what ive heard so take it at whatever value you like) that Minnesota are very interested in taking shark in the first round this year......seeing as Troy Williamson has hands of stone.

I can't see him falling further than New England, wherever they end up in the first round. I don't know how people feel about that, it's been noted NE is not favorable to whit skill players, but I'd like to see him be a stud for the Patriots rather than the Vikings who will in a year or two be without a QB (Brad Johnson won't play forever..) How will the cubs being the team who has him affect where he goes? Could the Bears be a team interested in getting him?

If he got drafted by the Patriots I don't know if I like that. While Tom Brady always has great passing stats year after year his WRs are never fantasy all stars. That's becuase Brady tosses the ball to so many different receivers that its hard for any of them to put up awesome stats. I think that the Shark is capable of putting up some sick numbers in the NFL so I would like him to go toa team that gets the ball to their top WRs often.

well, my wet dream for Tampa Bay would be: Jeff S. (replacing Galloway)Brian L (replacing Alstott). and Tommy Z. (Bucs secondary plainly sucks, plus there's no decent return man either)

never gonna happen, especially seeing how Bucs will have top 5 draft pick but i have a right to dream!

Hey Backrow, the Bucs might have a chance at either Quinn or or Joe Thomas. I hope they get Joe Thomas who is the best complete OT since Boselli and he would team up niceley with Dan Buenning and Jeremy Trueblood. Leonard would be an interesting option but who knows how Gruden would use him since he seems to like Cadillac. Quinn is a wildcard..depending on how Gruden likes Gradkowski he may pass on him but Gruden has never had a marquee franchise QB like a Manning or Brady. Quinn is the best QB prospect to come out since Peyton Manning and he might get him. Also I really hope Jeff Samardija does not go to the Vikings because he will be getting th eball thrown to him by Tavaris Jackson

yeah, Quinn would definitely be the most interesting QB prospect for the Bucs franchise in years since they will be drafting high enough (most likely) to get him...

and i am hoping that Grude will leave, although that's unlikely...

If the Bucs actually had your wetdream draft they would have me as their biggest fan thats for sure. I really hope Martz gets another shot as a head coach, I bet he would think of alot of ways to utilize talents like Leonard and Samardija.

yeah... it is sad when there's only a few and far between coaches that would actually play white guys in the NFL...

That is incredibly optimistic. I've been way too disappointed way too often to be that hopeful.

I'm sorry, but that's really hard to believe. Top overall pick? Really??
