As I watching the Monday night game it occurred to me Jake looks like the ideal specimen to play QB. He's tall, strong, mobile and can fire the ball running to his left or right making it look easy. He handles the ball well and looks great on fakes and bootlegs. So why does he throw so many picks? I don't know, but he looks like he should be a super star. .

He throws so many picks becuase he is a dumbass. He's looked like a "potential superstar" for the last 9-10 years. Face it, its not going to happen. he will always be mediocre.

Funny how Jake Plummer is constantly "put-down" for throwing interceptions, but Duante Culpepper is always given a free pass for his turn-overs. Were is the media out-cry for Duante to be benched like there has been for Plummer?

Jake Plummer was great last night against the Chiefs. Here's why
Plummer is lambasted while Culpepper gets the kid-glove treatment --
Jake's a good-looking White guy and, as such, he will be eternally
despised by the Caste-masters. Carson Palmer will be treated the
same, even though he has shown flashes of brilliance and will be star
in the league. The Caste puts down attractive White players by
calling them "pretty boy," "surfer dude," "Sunshine," "All-American
boy," etc. (God forbid any White girl have a crush on a talented
White athlete, when demi-gods such as T.O., Culpepper, and McNabb are
out there).

And another point: I respect Plummer and other White players (like T.
Brady during the playoffs last year) who grow their hair long and wear
a beard, which is reminicent of the 1960s and 70s, when Whites were
still a significant part of the league.

because he makes bad plays for no apparent reason. he will play good and then make 1 or 2 bad wildly bad decisions that cost the team a game.

he's done this for several years now. he's never played a entire season without making a very bad mistake once every 2 or 3 games.

Let's not have a short memory when it comes to Plummer. He is the exception to the rule when it comes to white football players. He is in his ninth season despite being an underproducer andhas beenprone to making bad mistakes at critical times. I callhim the "White Kordell" because he has always had corporate endorsement deals and lots ofgood press in spite of his mediocre career. There were parallels between Plummer's career and Kordell Stewart's for a number of years. The only white player in the last decade to get similar treatment was Jason Sehorn, and at least Sehorn had a couple of outstanding seasons before injuries slowed him down.

Hopefully he'll do a great job for Denver all season and for years to come, but he is indeed the rare white player at any position to be given a lot of chances to fulfill his talent.

Don, Jake Plummer was the first QB I picked in the draft. How can you mock him so?

Just kidding, I agree with your assessment, but there wasn't much left at that point in the draft, although I think Delhomme is the best of the three I have, which is Delhomme, Plummer, and Aaron Brooks.

I've been playing fantasy football for 9 years and never had Plummer on a team, so I guess I'm consistent that way, though he is capable of huge games.

I've always wondered just why he has had the "magic touch" re the adoring media and corporate endorsementssince he's been an underachiever and there are so many white quarterbacks people just love to hate. Would be great if someone could find out what it is and then bottle it and sprinkle it on all white football players.

Well, all I can say in my defense is, "Oh yeah! Well some guys still draft Michael Vick, too!"

Didn't Plummer have a 500 yard game last season?I believe he did.Jake is a good qb and I like watching him play. However,I would love to see Bradlee Van Pelt get a chance eventually in Denver. He can run like a running back and has a good strong arm.

Plummer threw for 495 yards against the Falcons, but ultimately lost the game because the Denver defense couldn't stop the Falcons' running attack. Of course, the media leapt at the opportunity to credit the victory to Vick, when it was obvious to anyone who WATCHED the game that Plummer was clearly the best QB on the field that day.

He has had to struggle at times to compensate for Caste system
recievers and yes there have been some illogical passes deep, over the
middle, etc. One thing that is helping Plummer so far this season
is a good running game (and an almost all white front line don't hurt.)

Jake is playing very well this year. He threw 4 TD's today and had over 300 yds. If he continues to play -smart - and the Bronco's keep winning, he could be considered for MVP... maybe. Of course it's way too early for speculation, but I'd like to see him do well.

Plummer is in the right place at Denver.

For the last few years they have been producing great Running Backs there (except for Clarett, but he is probably beyond help) and so now he gets help from the running game. Is Plummer a great QB? No, but that is no reason not to like him or the Broncos in general (especially the way Broncos Fans treat the Raiders, hailing down snow-balls upon them! I just don't like the Raiders. )

Jake smoked media-darling McNabb in a head-to-head battle that wasn't
as close as the three-touchdown disparity would indicate. (McNabb
missed on his first 12 passes, and it appears he has reverted to his
old scatter-shot ways).

Right now, Plummer is playing as well as any QB in the league.
Therefore, the media simply ignores him. Out of sight, out of
mind.

I don't know what caused Jake to abandon his gunslinger ways but he has turned into a heckuva quarterback. He hasn't thrown an interception for his last eight games, only has three for the year. If he can get past the Thanksgiving game with Dallas without reverting to his old ways, he may start making believers out of his critics. I'll take a so-called game manager over the high reward high risk types any day.

Plummer is playing great. He is an excellent example of the fact that quarterbacks often take a long time to develop but he is the rare white quarterback who was given lots of time.

I bet alot of these guys have a big VHS and DVD collection of past Games at home and may have been influenced (subconsciously?) by this to grow their hair long and have a beard.

Did anyone see South Park where they went to buy football cards, and Stan said something to the effect of "alright, I got Jake Plummer!" while Cartman said "aww man, I got another crappy AJ Feeley" Good to see Plummer finally getting the nod, although I think it would have been funnier had Cartman said something like "aww man, I got another crappy Kordel Stewart" By the way, is Kordel even in the league anymore?

During the broadcast of the Denver vs Dallas game, Phil Simms remarked that Jake Plummer hadn't thrown a pick in eight games and displayed a graphic showing where he stood with the all-time leaders. Well, of course, shortly afterwards Jake was picked off. I remember watching a playoff game in the early seventies, Raiders against the Dolphins. Miami was close to getting into the end zone when an announcer reminded us that Larry Czonka had not had a single fumble the entire year.On the very next play Larrylost the ball at the goal line if I remember correctly. Historian?

That Jake Plummer line was just the beginning of what was a another great South Park episode. As for Jake Plummer I thought he'd be a great QB as soon as I saw him lead(along with Pat Tillman) Arizona St team to the Rose Bowl in 1997. Jake carried that overachieveing team on his back and almost won the Rose Bowl.

Yes, and Csonka was known for not fumbling. During the 1971 season, Csonka only fumbled once all season, I believe. In Super Bowl VI against Dallas, he fumbled in the first quarter. Dallas went on to win 24-3. The Dolphins went unbeaten in 1972, winning Super Bowls both that year and 1973.

The Caste System has done a complete about face on Jake.

With Plummer -- the White Kordell -- at the helm the Cardinals remained the perennial bottom feeder they've been for decades. Plummer could always be counted on to make the bone-headed interception or other bad play at a crucial time, yet strangely was always given a pass and more by the media, while every other white quarterback has been subject to quick trigger criticism for every mistake he made. In a league thatgrossly downplays its white players, Jake the Snake was theCaste System's whitechoice.

Then Plummer goes to Denver, and leads the Broncosback to the top of the AFC for the first time since John Elway retired, and now the scenario is being set for Plummer to be benched and replaced by rookie Jay Cutler, who was only drafted this April. Now Plummer can do no right, even as Denver has had the highest winning percentage in the league since Plummer became the starting quarterback. The mediaoohed and aahed during Snake's prolonged apprenticeship; then when he did finally become successful the rug is suddenly pulled out from under him.
