That interview is older than the post date.
He was close to 225 for the second half of the Spring. That's as good a speed/mass combo as McFadden, and better than Peterson.
Obviously, running skill (vision, agility) is a major factor in whether a player will be successful in college. But, based on the "measurables", nobody in college football is his equal at the moment. Not that I know of, anyway.

WOW Congrats to Furr!! This kid is the real deal. However, it pains me to think about the possibility of all this talent going down the drain because of Butch Davis as his coach. Why couldn't have Furr went to NC State or Wake Forest or Virginia or anywhere else close by except UNC. We have to be optomistic though that his natural talent will be to great to deny him a fair shot at HB. Although this weight gain (what is it now 230?? geez..) keeps popping up bad images in my head of Hunter being a lead blocker for one of Butch's brotha's down the road. I wish the best of luck to Furr in his attempt to be a college HB!

They did the same thing to Mike Alstott when he was at Purdue. Why do they make these kids put on weight when they are faster than any running back on the team. Pure Racism. NO OTHER WORDS TO DESCRIBE IT!

His dad should be all over the coach. It would be like asking Herschel Walker to block full time. I hate the way they treat white athletes.

I think Herschel Walker may actually be a good comparison to Furr for style. When I saw Walker late in his career with the Giants he wasn't the best at swiveling through traffic and when he tried to dance too much he got no where. Walker's best runs came when he made a good first cut read the hole and exploded up field.

Hunter has a completely different style than McGuffie, Burkhead and Woodhead who are swivelers- scat backs.
