I know there aren't very many nationally televised high school games, but I believe it would be a good idea if we had a thread devoted to caste matchups (whether televised or not) on the high school level, just like referendum has so nicely done for the college games.

The one I'm watching right now is on ESPN. Hoover Alabama is hosting South Panola Mississippi. I've posted about SP before here. The school has a little over a 60/40 black majority, but the football team is almost all black. They have been regarded as the dominant Mississippi team for the last decade. They were beaten at home a couple of years ago by a nearly all-white team from Memphis, TN.

Hoover is one of the best teams in Alabama, but have not benefited from playing in a weak division like SP has for a long time. Hoover High is over 65% White and their team is at least half-white as far as the starters go.

In the second quarter Hoover is up 3-0. It is nice to see South Panola's offense not going anywhere against a decent number of Whites on defense. Hopefully the Hoover offense will get going soon and they will win their first game of the season. South Panola has the benefit of playing one game already this season.

Hoover ended up beating South Panola 24-13 and proved to be the more physical team down the stretch. Nice to see the Whiter team/underdog win!

You guys must have missed the early game.

Mostly white St. Thomas Aquinas beat 95% black Prattville, Alabama. What makes that victory even sweeter is that Prattville was Rivals' "#1 Team in the Nation". The score was 34-31, but it was a more comfortable victory than that. Aquinas took a lot of chances because they weren't really having much trouble moving the football.

The new starting qb for Aquinas played a great game. He needed to, though, as their imported negro runningback was horrible. He was both slow and cumbersome. No one who watched that game could argue that he's better suited to play RB than any of the white kids they have available.

Yeah, I was watching that game too, and remember that Aquinas' QB was prety good. Nice to see nearly all-black Prattville fall!

I too saw parts of the earlier game. Although I wasn't as interested in it as the later game, I'm glad St. Thomas Aquinas won.
