Shaw said he is confident McCaffrey could hold his own on defense if necessary.

"One day, we needed some guys to flip over and be on the scout team," Shaw said. "And he flipped over and jumped over at corner. And the back pedal was natural. The plant and dive was natural. The flipping the hips to run deep was natural. He could be phenomenal at that position, too."

His record-breaking season will make him one of the favorites to win the Heisman heading into the 2016 season. It will be a high standard to match, but McCaffrey said he has plenty left to prove.

"I'm not satisfied at all with the season, my personal season," he said. "All the great players you ask always expect greatness. There's definitely a lot of work to be done. A lot of room for improvement."

I'm a little Leary of the meme that Mcaffrey is some kind of special white athlete bred for the game and the only reason he is succeeding is because of his special genes. During the game yesterday they did a thing about what an athlete his mother and father and brother and cousin and what not were. Sure that's great but I think it has as much to do with the idea that he could be a success because of his father plus the family emphasis on sports and no doubt some doors were opened for him.

But while this special case scenario is good for him it still doesn't open any doors for kids that don't have a legacy background. Did Danny Woodhead have special parents? Toby Gerhart?

It's going to be hard for the system to marginalize Mcaffrey, but that won't help the other hundreds of kids that will still be ignored.

Ironically if you insinuated that some black guy was bred for strength and speed you would lose your job.

When McCaffrey decides to go pro, hopefully after next season, how great would it be if the Patriots found a way to get him and made him their featured RB? With Brady, Gronk, Edelman, McCaffrey, Amendola, Chandler, and Garropolo once Brady retires, the dynasty would be set for another ten years.

Right Jaxvid! I've said it at least a half a dozen times. The only reason we're seeing McCaffrey is because his dad was an NFL player. I don't think even with that advantage he had, he had many D-1 offers. His high school stats were good but not mind boggling.

There were 3 (white kids), here in North Carolina in the same high school class with way better numbers and looked just as good on film anyway, than McCaffrey. One had over 3,000 yards rushing on less than 300 carries in his junior year. Where is this kid at? I don't even think McCaffrey had 1,000 yards rushing his junior year?

I'm thankful for McCaffrey, but there are so many more like him or even better, if you can imagine that, out there who don't get their chance.

The caste mafia have their hands full with McCaffrey. They'll have to go the extra mile to destroy his NFL prospects. You can already tell by the half-hearted way the ESPN announcers complement him, they hate the fact that this "spoiler" has come out of nowhere to rain on their SEC/afflete parade.

But how will they go about it? It'll probably start with vermin like Herbie, Jesse Palmer and others at ESPN do their best next season to undermine his Heisman campaign. Then, Kiper and McShay will do their part by reducing him to a 2nd round prospect. None of the usual descriptions apply here, there's nothing "sneaky" or "deceptive" about McCaffrey's game. So they'll try to label him "too small" to be an every-down NFL back, and instead scout him as a slot receiver/versatile 3rd down back, or some BS like that.

And finally, a team like St Louis ,Tampa Bay or ATL that already has a very good young running back will magically draft him and that will be that.

Sorry for the cynicism, but we've seen this movie before and it doesn't end well. The caste system is too powerful to allow a phenom like McCaffrey to burst into the scene in a forbidden position and inspire thousands of young white kids. It cannot be allowed.

I hope McCaffrey can have another great year and claim the Heisman trophy he was robbed of this year. Hopefully he hasn't peaked too early in his college career. A couple of things have me concerned. First his ability to do it all may get him injured from being overused. Second he will be playing with a first year quaterback next year who will likely need time to develop. Which means at least early on next year while the quarterback is developing defenses are going to stack the box against McCaffrey daring Stanford to throw the ball.

I can't find the article anymore, but I read a piece by nfl.com Bucky Brooks comparing CM to Brian Westbrook. I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I would like to see CM drafted to a team that will treat him and value him as a #1 back and finish the job Peyton Hillis didn't get to finish.

That limp wrist Palmer was already doing his best to try and minimize Christian last night. They give
the same back handed compliments about foot speed and short area quickness. Musberger was a breath of fresh air - constantly praising mccaffrey and going totally off the caste script. It was refreshing to hear.

Westbrook was a very good all purpose back for the Eagles and was responsible for their success in the early-mid 00s. I actually think that is a good comparison. Westbrook was better than Reggie bush ever was in the NFL.

Guys there is a great article on the Bleacher Report stating that McCaffrey should have won the Heisman. Good read.

I was listening to the Dan Patrick Show this morning on FOX sports radio and heard Patrick refer to Christian as a potential "Wes Welker. Or a Danny Wodhead type." WTF??? This kid could literally be the next Barry Sanders or at least a very, very good RB (if given a fair shot). It's very insulting to refer to this kid as the next Woodhead or Welker (no offense to them - they're amazing players) - typical anti-white programming, though.

If they do this to him I will be done and and I'll be shameless in my open rebuke and public harassment of NFL League officials. Let them draw a line in the sand and relegate this great player to token status, and they will regret they ever did. This would be full on shameless Caste treatment of the man that should have already won the Heisman and should be hailed for his fantastic abilities. However, there is one major problem: His skin color.

I was the one who predicted McCaffrey would win the Heisman as a freshman last year on this site. Think handle, Twinkle Toes.

Good almost call and welcome back.

Are you unable to sign in as Twinkle Toes or did you decide to go with a different username? I'm curious since I want to know if there are still glitches with the new board software.

Thanks Don. I was unable to sign on as Twinkle Toes. I was gone for so long as my internet would not let me access C.F. because the site had been flagged for fishing. So its good to be back and this should be a good few years for the return of the white rb. My only beef is with rb 2016 class, Tanner Thomas who had a bunch of late D 1 offers and he decided to go to Columbia. I am wondering how many white high school rbs just don't want to play D 1 because they think they will sit on the bench behind 3 or 4 brothers. At least we value education more.

In some recent interesting news. Senior rb Barry Sanders Jr. is transferring to Oklahoma State from Stanford. His main reason he stated a month ago was because he would not get any playing time with McCaffrey in front of him. I don't know the kid but you don't go to Stanford unless you are pretty smart. His father was a class act and arguably the best NFL rb of all time. However this bodes well for McCaffrey as he should get more touchdown runs and not get pulled when Stanford reaches the red zone.
