I have never had a issue with Ward. I think he is developing into a great fighter. He has the whole package it appears right now. His father is White so that is also a plus for me. He conducts himself with class and sportsmanship. None of the TNB to boot. Good win for him. Frochy will be a different story.

Just about anybody who knows and is willing to use the basics can look like a master boxer against AA, let alone someone who is a master boxer like Ward. Watching Abraham is just so frustrating. He should maybe just go back to Europe and maybe take up bicycling again. He doesn't want to fight about 90% of the time. Just no fire in him.

Ward/Froch will be a great fight.

Ward throws mostly jabs and arm punches. He has a very amateurish style, except when he hits while hoilding on the inside.

He was obviously too fast for Arthur, and also better conditioned, since he was able to continue with a high workrate in the late rounds.

He caught Abraham with a sneaky headbutt to the jaw late in the 10th round. I think he resorted to that illegal tactic because he became frustrated not being able to hurt Abraham with his punches.

Arthur landed a nice left hook that hurt Ward with a minute or so to go in the 12th round, after that Ward just kept tying him up to run out the clock.

Arthur is too short for super middleweight, and the extra weight just slows him down. He was faster at 160 and he'll be nothing but a journeyman unless he returns to that weight division.

Abraham doesn't seem to have the stamina for a 12 round fight. He used to take the first three or four rounds off, knowing he could turn up the heat in the last two thirds of the fight. That's just not going to work against top tier talent. Compubox credited Abraham with landing significantly more power punches, but he just can't put in the consistent work that's necessary to win rounds.

Abraham says that he's staying at super middleweight. I don't know how he's going to get a title being that he's had trouble with Froch, Dirrell, and now Ward. He's very strong and has good defense but even that doesn't help him as he's way too inactive in fights.

I just watched the fight today (didnt watch the fight live because I was at a birthday party last night).

Decent fight by Ward, Ward's got toughness and great conditioning. Decent boxing ability as well. He didn't run, he stood and traded with Abraham. It wasnt a "running performance" like the Dirrell fight.

Abraham, Im a huge fan of him, and Ive followed all of his fights since about 2005. He always has a problem of not throwing enough punches. He started the fight well, but seemed to fade down the stretch. It seemed like he could not deal with the pace of the fight.

Having said that, I thought Abraham won 3 to 4 rounds in the fight. So my card is roughly 117-111 or 116-112. (I didnt have the best look, and I was judging as a fan). But I do think the fight was a bit closer than the judges scored. 118-110 is not a bad score, but Im more comfortable with 117-11. At least in my opinion.

Also this fight showed that Ward is there to be hit. I was surprised at how often and easily Abraham particularly in rounds 2, 3 and 12 was able to connect to Ward's face.

Ward/Froch is a 50-50 fight in my opinion, and I would favour Bute to beat Ward. I think Ward is there to be hit, and rest assured, Bute will hit him. Ward likes to brawl a bit, and Bute is faster. I like Bute to beat Ward.

One of the judges scored the fight 120-108 Ward. (One Stanley Christodolou)

What an incompetent scorecard. Abraham DEFINITELY won a couple rounds. IMO the fight was 117-111, and some rounds were close. Ward absolutely won the fight. But it wouldnt say he "dominated". He won a competitive fight because Abraham faded in the mid to late rounds...

I had it 116-112 for Ward - Abraham clearly won a few rounds.

Yes, agreed. I think 117-111 or 116-112 are the most accurate scores. I gave Abraham the first 3 rounds (admittedly, round 1 was interchangeable), and I thought rounds 5, 11, and 12 were close. Abraham had his moments in the fight. It isn't some "dominating" performance that many fans and media writers are claiming it was.

Great score!

Froch is a justified favourite over Glen Johnson. Froch has some great results against great levels of opposition, and although Glen Johnson is coming off a good win (KO over Allan Green) and is a tough guy. Froch should win that fight. I do expect a competitive decision win for Carl Froch.

Abraham has a puncher`s chance against Ward, and I love Abraham, am a huge fan of Abraham but I doubt he will win this fight. Ward isn`t unbeatable (Froch or Bute would have the best chance to beat him, Id even favour Bute over him). However, I dont like Abraham`s recent form and apparent lack of boxing ability. Abraham has a puncher`s chance but thats all.

Hopefully Abraham proves me wrong. It would be glorious if he pulls off the upset!!!

That being said, this tournament has faltered from day 1 - Not including the best SMW in the World - Lucian Bute.

I picked either Abraham or Kessler to take the Super Six. Abraham had a very nice win over Jermain Taylor but his fight against Dirrell was disgusting and he didn't have the skills to beat Froch. I now wish Arthur had stayed at middleweight. Hopefully Frochy wins this tournament.

Some here don't like Frochy because he's part Jewish but I'll be rooting for him. He's our best chance to win the tournament. Abraham has to knock Ward out.

I haven't seen anything to back up these claims that Frochy is Jewish. He has never said anything about it as far as I'm aware. I have yet see it mentioned in any article about him. It's a lie I think. Search online and all you'll find are people posting about it on forums. There is no proof. I think it's a lie that was started on one of the boxing forums and has spread.

Frochy talks proudly about his Polish heritage. I believe both of his parents are of Polish descent and he went to a Catholic school. He did an interview with Primetime in the UK before his fight with Kessler where he talked about his family history, his career and so on. I'm sure I watched it a while ago and he never mentioned anything about being Jewish. I'll have to get out my copy and watch it again some time.

If anyone has any proof that Frochy is Jewish then please post it. If he was Jewish I think it would mentioned a lot.

Abrahamyan needs to go back down to middle. 168 is clearly not for him. He would still probably KO the likes of Allen Green, but yeah, not going to beat the top 4/5.

Our guys are still doing well in the division. 3 of the top 4 in the division are White.

Anybody else notice the credit Ward received from boxing writers and fans for beating Abrahamyan? They've been all over him. Now, compare that to how Froch was treated after beating him. Froch beat AA much more convincingly and barely took a punch. Boxing writers gave Froch little credit and instead ridiculed AA. Just something I've noticed.

Very good point. Froch will likely get to face Ward and prove his worth, however.

Frochy by a 8 TKO or UD. Weights are Frochy 167.5 Johnson 166. Frochy looked in shape and powerful. Johnson looked small for a 168 lbs. Body language is all Froch.

I can't wait for this fight. Frochy should pull this one out and then get Ward in the finals. Johnson is old but he's a crafty veteran that can still mix it up with the best in the division.Edited by: whiteathlete33

Carl Froch is probably the guy in boxing who has faced the highest level of opposition in the past 2 years and he's done well (KO 12 Jermain Taylor, W 12 Arthur Abraham, W 12 Andre Dirrell, L 12 Mikkel Kessler, W 12 Jean Pascal)

Froch's win over Pascal was more emphatic than Bernard Hopkins' was in my opinion.
Froch's win over Abraham was also *clearly* more emphatic than Wards' win. (Abraham didnt win a single round VS Froch, yet managed to win 3 or 4 against Ward)

Froch certainly should be considered top10 P4P based on his resume alone. A further win over Glen Johnson will solidify himself even more so tonight. Carl Froch has had an excellent run since 2009 and beating Glen Johnson will continue that.

This guy should be a lock for P4P top10 after beating Johnson tonight.

Great Fight! Inspired performances by both men. Froch should win 8 rds to 4. My God, Froch has an iron chin, and came back with more when he was rocked. UD decision to Froch. One judge had it a draw? He was on the take.

Ward doesn't have the power of Johnson. That is good. But Ward is alot busier than Johnson. That is bad for Froch. Froch can not afford to take off large parts of rounds against Ward. Ward knows it will be a hard fight. I am leaning toward Frochy 60 to 40 to win.

Another good thing, Froch has great stamina and endurance.

Also, I think the Showtime Team did an outstanding job of calling the fight. I am continuely impressed with Gus Johnson, he always calls it fair and really gets into the fight as well as speak coherrently in his excitement.
