Forgotten White Athletes?

Since we're all talking about Sam Blaskowski and how he's gone from DIII Champion to a world class sprinter, it reminds me of another DIII Champion, who also attended The University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, and also became a world class sprinter.
That sprinter is Andrew Rock.
Rock was a 9-time NCAA DIII Champion, and went on to win a silver medal in the 400m at the World Championships in 2005.
He also won a gold medal in the 4x400m at those championships, and at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
He was ranked #3 in the world in 2005, and #4 in 2006.
Pretty damn good for a DIII guy!

Here is Andrew Rock finishing 2nd at the 2005 World Championships at Helsinki. Jeremy Wariner took the gold medal.

I remember Andrew Rock clearly. Didn't seem to be around long and was overshadowed by Wariner, but a very talented 400m man.
Rock had 3 great years of averaging 44s

Here's a good video of Bobby Morrow winning the AAU (US) Championships in 1956.

my favourite Australian sprinter was Damien Marsh who in the mid 90s went over to the U.S. to train with Manley Waller's (all black) squad, made some friends, was the fastest guy in the squad. By early 1996 he was running 10.00s at training but turned in achilles to jelly in one of the big relay meets - never reached the heights again and said in retrospect he'd have had psychological counseling to overcome his fear it could happen mid race again.
His relay team 2 weeks prior to this in Sweden had run 38.17 in the world championships to place us 8th nation 4 x 100m all time.
HOW WHITE CAN YOU GET o_O

I remember Damien Marsh and this race where he beat the world's best sprinters. I didn't know about his injury . . . such a shame!
Australia had some good sprinters back then.
