I hear all sorts of good things about Cam Newton's workout. What's the real scoop on this guy? Is he another Russell, Young, Culpepper, etc, or does he have what it takes to be a good NFL QB? I know you guys are on top of these things. I want to know what you think. I believe you guys much more than the radio.

Tom, "Scam" Newton is a project at best. He has good mobility but as usual with these aflletes he has a lot of character flaws. He has poor throwing mechanics and makes only one or two reads. I see him as being another Vince Young, and that's being generous.

This video puts the final nail in the coffin of Cam's smoke and mirrors workout. When even paid NFL Caste Whores are bringing out the "J" word (Jamarcus), you know somebody is a fraud.

I wonder how many of this years new crop of vaunted Black defensive players will be busts.If its anything similar to the ratio of the last 2 or 3 years then it will be alot.The only Black linebackers taking over the last 3 years that have gone on to become good players are Jared Mayo and Brian Orakpo though he fell off abit this year.Curtis Loften has also been decent.This position is almost as bad as the D line,wave after wave of busts.2009 though may take the cake as virtually all the Black linebackers taken in the first 3 rounds are clearly on ther way to becoming colossal busts.Aaron Curry,Robert Ayers,Larry English,Cody Brown.Tyrone Mckenzie.All Linebackers selected amomng the top 60 players.2008 is probably just as bad.The top linebacker selected that year Keith Rivers hasnt been a playmaker at all and though not an outright bust he never dominates games and rarely makes big plays.Over his 3 year career he has accumulated a grand total of 2 sacks.Bad for an OLB taken 9th overall.By comparison unheralded guys like Ninkovich and Zombo had 4 sacks apiece this season.Their seems to be so many Black defensive busts drafted each year that it becomes easy to forget who the busts and underperforming players are as more bust are brought in to replace them in a never ending cycle.Vernon Gholston,Derrick Harvey,Lawrence Jackson and Tyson Jackson have been busts at DE a position almost as bad as linebacker.How long can this charade continue because the teams that keep drafting these guys year after year will be left out when it comes to the play offs and super bowls.

Mighty Joe,

Good post. Very informative for a person like me, not up on this as you are.

A small point, space after punctuation. I'm no English major. I only point this out to you because your enemies will use it against you.
Take care and thanks again for you informative post.

He has very little of what it takes to be an NFL quarterback. Look up some of his youtube vids. His mechanics are horrible, his footwork nonexistent, he's never had any experience in making reads and he only knows how to take snaps out of the shotgun. That's just his lack of ability on the field, we haven't even addressed his lack of character off the field. To be blunt; If he were a white QB he would be ranked as a 6th round project at an absolute best.

The annual media ritual of downgrading White college quarterbacks as the draft draws nearer is in full swing. Note how Jimmy Clausen is now lumped in with Ryan Leaf when it comes to "attitude and personality," with Ryan Mallet now joining them. I've never read exactly how Clausen has a bad attitude; apparently it emanates from his facial expressions, much as Jay Cutler is often accused of having a "bad attitude."IguessDuhMarcus Russell, Vince Young and other black QBs don't have attitude and personality issues, only White ones.
<div></div>
<div>FoxSports.com's Adam Caplan believes Arkansas QB Ryan Mallett is "almost certain" to drop out of the first round of this year's draft. "Wouldn't shock me to see Mallett fall to the third," added Caplan, alluding to the Razorback's "baggage." Quarterbacks with Mallett's arm strength and pedigree rarely free-fall at draft time, but he's already drawing comparisons to Jimmy Clausen and Ryan Leaf for his attitude and personality. Scouts have also called into question his decision-making and ability to read coverages. </div>

Sounds about par for the course Don. If you haven't seen yet they dug up another black quarterback who was a 5th round prospect one month ago that they are now calling a first round talent. Mallett and Locker have thus been thrown under the bus.

Locker's stock has dropped a lot because of a poor Senior Bowl. He could even fall into the second or third round at this point. If he came out last year he would have been a top 10 pick.

Getting back to "Scam" Newton, he will be a failure in the NFL. Of course he'll be given five years to showcase his incredible "upside." The NFL has a strict policy in that at least 20 percent of starting qb's in the league have to be black no matter how bad they are.

That would make for an interesting study: comparing the ratio of white busts at a given position versus the ratio of black busts.

Nice post. Unfortunately the DWFs still seem to be oblivious to the charade. Ask them about busts and moststill rituallyreach back into the previous centuryand sneeringly mentionthe names of Leaf, Mamula, Bosworth, Mandarich, Shuler, etc. The real problem is that every NFL team keeps drafting these "projects" year after year. There's no equivalent to what the Colts, Patriots, Packers and some other clubs are doing on offense. Every now and then a team will have 4 or 5 Whites starting on defense, butthere's neverany staying power -- Titans, Browns and Bills in recent seasons, theRams and Browns again toward the end of this past season. Look at their White starters and they're usually free agents and guys picked toward the end of the draft because there are so few White defensive players selected in the first two and three rounds.

The positive is that the White LBs drafted early are all shining with rare exceptions, even as one black after another flops or underachieves at the position. There's so much White talent on defense that defies the Caste System barriersin college that maybe, just maybe, some teams that want to win will begin to buck the long-entrenched status quo. It might be better if it's teams with majority black offenses, almost like the Bills were doing a few seasons ago, but the problem ends up being that the offense is lousy, which puts undue pressure on the defense, which ends up buckling and looking bad.

Teams need to realize the problem. For every Suh in the draft you have several black players that are busts. Organizations think they can get lucky and find a franchise defensive player among these over rated blacks but it usually doesn't happen.

Remember how hyped Gholston was coming out of college? Look at how poor of a player he has turned out to be.

They'reaware of it, but they're just as aware of the Caste System and its rules. These highly touted black early draft picks were for the most part highly touted coming out of high school, given scholarships over more deserving White kids who are ignored by the likes of Rivals every year. The ones who end up going to SEC schools especially are drooled over every time they make a good play; their often poor play and lack of a "non-stop motor" (laziness and character problems, sometimes including criminality)are ignored because after all they're still "projects" even after three or four years of college because of their "great athleticism."

As long as every team participates in the farce, then the negatives are pretty much spread around evenly. And every year the "draft gurus" encourage the spectacle. And of course the "scouts" are White manginas and many, just as with assistant coaches and broadcasters, are now black. During Cam Newton's "workout" the other day, it appeared that half the scouts looking on were black. The Caste System has spread its tentacles well beyond just the playing field.

Gholston was a workout warrior. I remember the pundits talked about his new age physique. I think he or Blair Thomas are in the running for the biggest bust in Jets history...Edited by: white is right

Tom Iron, here is my analysis of Newton after watching several of his games during his one and only year of starting for a Div 1 program:

Newton can't read a defense, his rush/pass ratio was almost 50/50. If his first option was not open right away he would either have time afforded to him by his offensive line until a player was wide open and throw or run with the ball. He played in a more gimmicky defense than Tebow. I don't think his mechanics are that bad but he does look a little stiff. He won't be able to rely on his legs.

As far as character concerns, he does whatever his father says and does not think for himself, he has been in several scandals during his time in college (most notably the laptop issue at Florida and the pay for play scam which any person with half a brain knows he was involved in). He is smug and arrogant and lacks any sort of humility.
He is being hailed as the next QB to "revolutionize" the QB position following the likes of Vick, Young and JaMarcus Russell (detect a theme here?)

If one tries to make a list of good black D-linemen that will retire in the near future, that list likely won't be long...

Trevor Pryce (1st Rounder in 1997)
Shaun Ellis (12th Overall Pick in 2000)
John Abraham (13th Overall Pick in 2000)
Jason Taylor (3rd Rounder in 1997)

I can't think of much more.. if anyone can, please add them. (Because, frankly, players like Phillip Daniels' were nothing-special and Fat Williams is thoroughly overrated.)

I know that some people aren't that "sold" on Marcus Stroud and Richard Seymour, and, frankly, I ain't either.

Here is another classic from Rotoworld. Apparently they consider "Scam" Newton a franchise quarterback. Ohh please!

<div>

The St. Paul Pioneer Press predicts that the Vikings will not select a quarterback with the 12th overall pick.
</div>
<div>
The 2011 draft is believed to include only two
franchise-caliber quarterbacks (Blaine Gabbert and Cam Newton), and
they're both likely to be gone by the time Minnesota goes on the board.
The Vikings should be among the most ardent suitors for Kevin Kolb,
Kyle Orton, and Donovan McNabb once he's released.
</div>
It seems that every year now the media and scouting services consider at least one black college quarterback a franchise player at the next level. This continues every year despite the complete failure of black quarterbacks at the NFL level.

interesting prospect. Kurt Adams from Harding. Ran a 4.36 and won State in the 200 m in high school. Played in a spread offense for his first two years in college and then they switched to triple option so not as much throwing of course. BTW he is 6'5 200 pounds. A little on the thin side for that height but with an NFL strength and conditioning program I don't see why he couldn't add 10 to 15 pounds. 141 catches for over 2300 yards and 29 tds

[TUBE]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uvq03gmfrho&amp;feature=player_embedded#at=26[/TUBE]

there is also a video of him running the 4.36. He asked if he could participate in the pro day at Ole Miss and Arkansas St and they both said yes. If he were the right skin tone he would get drafted. He still might have a shot, Jameson Konz had freakish measurables and was drafted in the 7th, but as a TE.

Here is a scouting report from Walterfootball on Casey Matthews. Caste speak is very obvious.

<center>

Casey Matthews Scouting Report </font>

By Greg Cox </font>

</font></center>

Strengths:

<div ="article">[*] High football IQ
[*] Active with great instincts
[*] Hard worker
[*] Elite NFL bloodlines
[*] Will contribute on special teams

</div>Weaknesses:

<div ="article">[*]
[*] Lacks speed
[*] Trouble shedding blocks
[*] Not a pass rusher like brother Clay
[*] Size and strength not ideal

Summary: Casey Matthews has long hair and plays linebacker.
Other than that he does not compare favorably to his older brother Clay,
which is unfortunate for him when it comes to getting selected early in
the 2011 NFL Draft. He is a high-effort player though and can stick
around by contributing on special teams if nothing else.

Interesting to see the media proclaiming Tyron Smith to be the best tackle in the country. Gimme a f**kin joke. THose sick bastards try anddownplay the talents of true tackles like Gabe Carimi and Anthony Castonzo. They find an alternate "sexier" more "athletic" pick who has "upside".

12) Tyron Smith/OT/USC: Smith is the number one tackle in the draft. He's an athletic blocker who possesses the strength to play on the right side as well as the footwork to be a blind-side protector in the NFL.sportsillustrated can suck it

Yeah they do this every year. Anthony Castonzo is clearly the best tackle in the draft. Happened last year when Bulaga was clearly the best prospect, then guys like Trent Williams went higher, Williams went top 5, gave up 11.5 sacks 3 holds, 3 false starts in 13 games started out of 14. Bulaga was a backup until week 5 then started every game including the Superbowl, named to the NFL all-rookie team. BTW, it says Bulaga was the youngest player to start in the Superbowl.

2009 was even worse with guys like Jason Smith going 2nd overall, wound up being a mediocre right tackle. Andre Smith went 6th overall and hasn't done squat. Eugene Monroe was picked 8th and has been an average left tackle at best. All of the dwfs say "give them time to develop". Thats 3 sumos picked in the top 10 in one year. If you get picked in the top ten you should be able to start right away. Jake Long did a damn good job of that. Jason Smith had 33 million dollars guaranteed, Smith 21 million and Monroe 19.2 milllion guaranteed (which is the most guaranteed in Jacksonville's history). Not a word said about that, but people did fuss over Jake Long having 30 million dollars guaranteed, at least he lived up to expectations.

Tyron Smith will be the next Jason Smith at best, Andre Smith at worse. Why so many fat black guys with the last name Smith? haha. Castonzo and Carimi should go higher but history says they won't. Even though Jake Long had success, they have downplayed the ability of every white tackle since.

Yeah I can't comprehend that. Long and Joe Thomas are two elite tackles that came out of the Big Ten and were able to step in at day one as starters. Solder, Castonzo, and Carimi will be just fine. Even if they do fall in the draft, they'll be the better pro players.

There are fools on the Browns Espn boards who are ripping on JJ Watt. Kiper recently has Watt going to Cleveland in the 1st round of his Draft Board.<div>
</div><div>Tried to tell them Watt will end up being the best DE in this draft. Everyone seems to want Fairly or Bowers if they are going defense. I said Bowers will not have staying power in the NFL</div>

Overall this draft looks to have an improvement of white defensive linemen drafted. After last years numbers there is nowhere to go but up. We won't even come close to matching the number of white receivers drafted last year, which was a record number for us. Several should get drafted though.

I'm most upset that Locker's draft stock has plummeted down. He should have came out last year and this will cost him millions of dollars. "Scam" Newton is now considered the second best quarterback in the draft and a franchise quarterback at that. What a bunch of crap!

Mel Kiper and McGay had their short "breakdown" of LBs and DBs.. and ZERO Whites were mentioned!

To me, Von Miller has always looked smaller than what he's listed as. I wouldn't use a Top 15 pick on him. As for the Akeem Ayers' "hype" -- I kind of get the impression that he could be another "Aaron Curry."

White athletes that had several sacks last season (and are in this Draft), but won't be acknowledged by the Caste clowns: Bruce Miller, Chris White, Bront Bird, Matt Berning and a few others.

Alex Wujciak had a very good season, and he made several splash-plays (like in the Miami game) to keep Maryland alive in the contest. Without him, Maryland is just a shell of themselves. Mark Herzlich played well, and continued his INT mastery. Colin McCarthy was excellent. Casey Matthews was good.

Some other tough athletes like Nick Bellore and Chris Colasanti. Steals..

It seems like we have a lot of depth at LB and DE in the mid rounds(3-6). By now I'm used to black athletes being over drafted so it really doesn't surprise me the lack of respect our athletes get in the draft process. Hopefully some of our white LBs can run well at the combine.I'd like to see a couple of our studs dip into the 4.6 range. From watching Chris White on tape he seems like a 4.6 guy to me, so does McCarthy..

Here's an article about Boise State DE Ryan Winterswyk a former walk on getting ready to show his talents in the upcoming combine! http://arbiteronline.com/2011/02/17/former-walk-on-in-pursuit-of-nfl-dreams/

There are only two white RBs I can think of this year who have the all round resume (ie. production, ability on film- and the solid measurables) that should give them a look by the NFL if it were fair. Those two are Chase Reynolds and Kyle Minett. Chase looks like a 5th round prospect after considering all the measuring sticks and Minett looks like maybe a 7th round guy. Unfortunately fair or not being small school prospects causes player's stock to drop a bit. I was thinking James Berezec was a guy who deserved a look, earlier in his career, but he's been in legal trouble and didn't have the production the last couple years that teammate Blake Smolen came out of Grand Valley State with.

It's a shame, but the caste masters have done all they can- to limit the amount of white RBs who get to play and aren't jerked around to another position in order to become good draft prospects. I try to be as fair as I can with my ranking of players. I was honest that I didn't see Luke Lippincott as a guy who would have any kind of legitimate impact on the NFL level last year (although based on production he might have been a 7th round/ UFA guy that hung around on the fringes of the league for a few years if black).

I was hoping JC (or another of the very knowledgeable CF scouts) could inform me if I missed any white RB prospects who deserve a look this year, thanks.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins
