From your comments on Middle Easterners it's obvious that you don't actually know any or associate with them. As a White male, Ive posted many new pics of myself on this site with many Middle Eastern women Ive dated. I also have several very close Middle Eastern guy friends.
Many Middle Easterners look white, as you can see from the pics Ive posted. Moreover, many Middle Easterners define themselves as white or whiteish. For example, Iranians and Afghans often differentiate themselves from Pakis or Indians on the grounds of skin colour (Persians are whitish, Indians are darker). I should know because Ive dated many.
*Eurasian Fan* what you must realize is that there is no precise definition of who is white. Some people will consider Middle Easterners white and some people won't. No one side is right or wrong, its a matter of personal perception, as there is not standard on who is white and who is not. There is perhaps a general perimeter on whiteness as being largely Caucasian and fair skinned, but there is no specific definition. Your comments are thus erroneous in the sense that you're trying to imply some sort of "white standard" which doesn't exist.
Further, its important to understand that The meaning of the word "white" has changed substantially over time. Quite literally, in the mid 1900's, many Europeans such as Italians, Russians, Romanians, and even the Irish were not seen as being "white". Today, almost everyone would agree that these people are white. So, the definiton of 'white" has expanded over time.
The danger with your type of thinking, Eurasian Fan, is that maybe you'd like to go back to the times when only Western and Northern Euros were seen as white. If you'd like to go back to that definition, we'd probably be dealing with only less than 5% of the world's population as being white. That is madness. So then Italians, Greeks, Slavs, Romanians, Russians and such would not be seen as white.
Eurasian Fan seems to be emphasizing the point that many people considered white have partial or very small mixtures, and yes that is true. But that is true in all races including Blacks, Yellows, and Browns. You'd find it very difficult if not impossible to find a population that is entirely "pure" anywhere in the world.
Oh, and by the way Chechens are absolutely white and absolutely European. They largely self-identify as white. Culturally, they are different than other whites, but no question they are white.
In my opinion if someone is largely Caucasian with fair skin, they should be labelled as "white"! This is why I consider all ethnic Euros, and many Middle Easterners, South Americans as white.
