One small thing the Mavs do is press in the back court after every basket. At best it takes 2 to 3 seconds off the Heat's possession clock, but over a series that can make a difference. Bibby is the player who seems most bothered by it. Overall the Heat seemed bothered by heat. They really didn't like what Cardinal was doing in Game 5.

Barea was asked in Spanish by that little Mexican troll on the Jimmy Kimmel Show if he would be able to date a Kardashian if the Mavs won. Barea quickly, and somewhat testily, answered he didn't want to date a Kardashian. Understandable since he's dating the 2006 Miss Universe.

On Brian Cardinal: "He's just a normal guy,"Â￾ says Dallas reserve Corey Brewer. "He's everybody's favorite player, probably because it's like anybody can play in the NBA when you see BC. It's like, just the old white guy walking in the gym. Just an old white guy. He should be somewhere with his family, with three kids. Playing at the YMCA."

Dirk is struggling, but the Mavericks are playing as a team, keeping Dallas in it at halftime.

Sorry I didn't get to a computer till now guys. I will still make a half time prediction. The Mavs will pull it out somehow, someway. I see them winning 103-101! Hoping I'm right. Even though a game 7 would be exciting, I don't want the Heat to get any confidence. Dallas will end it tonight!

Let's Go Mavs!

Time for Dirk to do his thing in the 2nd half. Let's get it going Dirk. Show them who the best player in the NBA Finals is!

D-whistle complaining about an obvious charge call against him. Cardinal disrupting on defense - playing an important role.

The Refs are trying to keep the Thug Heat in the game. 31 free throws for Miami to 11 for Dallas. Come on now. What a lopsided advantage. Dallas is holding strong though. Go Mavs!

Dirk's playing really bad, thank God for Terry and Barea (39 points between the 2 so far). Dirk is taking too many 3-pointers, he needs to attack the basket. He's at least banging the boards (9 boards so far), on his way to rough double-double.

Just over 5 minutes to go!

Miami will go high energy tempo now. Mavs need to relax and make some shots. People need to be cutting to the lane..
hang in there Mavs!

Dirk a bit ice cold tonight. He will need to come up a few more times tonight.
Let's go Dallas

some odd whistles tonight..

Dirk, just pure class!
What a shot. Cold night, but still hanging in there and almost willing the team to victory.

Mavs need to relax, good shots, play some D.

Almost there Dallas

Thank you my good friend. I'm just so glad I didn't jinx it. I just felt so positive about their chances for the last week or so. Dallas shoots too good to keep missing shots. I'm incredibly happy right now. No words can express my happiness for Dirk and all of the other great veterans. Jason Terry, Jason Kidd, JJ Barara, and all of the others. You could tell Dirk got overly emotional. I hope he comes back out on the floor.

He finally got the ring. Please don't retire Dirk. Let's do this again next year! You are amazing!

hey is jj barea of dallas white?

Nationally he is Puerto Rican, but he looks about as white as can be - or at least a large majority of white genes. Looks are usually the best indicator.

Dirk gets the MVP! Was Larry Bird the last white finals MVP?

2011 Dallas Mavericks are the first NBA Champions with a White finals MVP since 1986.

I can jokingly say that Dirk Nowitzki is LARRY BIRD 2.0 or seriously say he's the 2nd Greatest Power Forward in NBA history (behind Tim Duncan).

I agree. A toast to the Dallas Mavericks. A toast to MVP Dirk Nowitzki. Now it's almost time for Wlad to knock the crap out of David Haye. I can't wait to celebrate once again! Woohoo. Edited by: white lightning

Dallas is the first NBA team to be based around a White superstar since the Celtics and Larry Bird in the '80s. Thank God for White men, the world's best athletes, as we see over and over in so many sports, and even in those few sports in which they have been denigrated and "not allowed" to shine.

I'll also give some kudos to Mark Cuban. He's been a helluva owner and he deserves a lot of the spoils of this championship.
