Does not matter if he gets a RING or not, many before him did not either, no shame to that.

Barkley is as proud a person he'll ever be, so should should Dirk in his OWN way.

J-Kidd is still great but is getting "old", J-Howard can play like T-Mac, KB, or Vinsanity,
if he "really" wanted to, and J-Terry can be like Ray Allen but is too "inconsistent".

Dirk is like KG was then in Minnesota T-Wolves.

Howard is injured and reportedly will be out indefinitely so the load on Dirk increases but Terry and Barea are both playing well right now and the Mavs have won something like 8 of the last 11 games and Dirk is playing lights out. He won the Western conference player of the week and should be in the running for player of the month with the numbers he has been putting up.

That's cool for Dirk and I am very happy for him but Obama James and Kobe still get almost all the attention and focus from the sports media. Yes I said Obama James. Thats what my sunday school teacher called him the other day and that is what I will call him from now on. I reposted this discussion I had had with J41181. Guys tell me if my reasoning is off-base.

"The NBA has to be 45-45-10 in proportion of Black players, White players, and ASIAN PLAYERS."

I've done similar theorizing on what the racial numbers of different professional leagues should be. But what about Native American or Mestizo players? You're forgetting them aren't we.

Why 45% black. My personal theory is If just between 100% black and 100% whites; I would say the NBA should be more like 65% white to 35% black. But when you combine other groups there is no way that the league should be 45% black. Blacks make up only about 13% of the U.S populous.

My only reasoning that blacks should be over-represented is because of extreme interest in urban school yards and the fact that blacks have a longer reach for their body proportions on average. There are also a higher percentage of blacks in the NBA that aren't afraid to aggressively drive the lane. Not sure if it's genetics, the way players are unfairly racially officiated, the black's tendency for reach advantage or mental conditioning of black players feeling comfortable to be the team leader because they are by far the majority in the league or a mix of these factors. Having said that the leagues desire to have different styles in their players would probably make the league 55-60% white, 25-30% black, 7-10% Asian, 5-10% Latin Mestizo/ Native American.

And any player that is 1/4 black or more I'd count as black because the media castes them as such.


Of course you have to factor the effect the unfair media report of how white refs send white players to the line more than black refs. I guess only white refs can be racist right?

The media's obsession with black athletes has caused unfair refereeing in the NCAA tournament of late. Refs are now afraid to objectively ref white players!

This is my answer to -bigunreal- in the Redick section:

Dirk Nowitzki is 3rd in the league in scoring right now. I think it all depends on what team a young white player gets drafted or signed to:

Dirk went to Dallas,
Pau started out in Memphis before going to LA,
Nash went to Dallas before going back to Phoenix,
Peja started out in Sacramento,
Turkoglu went to Orlando,
Okur went to Utah,
Ginobili went to San Antonio

These white players made a successful transition depending on what team signed them which enabled them to shine early or midway through their careers. Players like Redick, Morrison, Milicic have gone to teams with "very hard to please coaches" that chances of them to ever shine is very slim.

Players like Bogut, Bargnani, and Kaman have to gone to teams where they have some chances to shine, but little else thanks to the "hard to please mentalitys" of the coaches also. Overall, it depends on what team certain white players go to, Dirk Nowitzki and others I have mentioned above happen to be the LUCKY FEW.

Not only did he have a spectacular game, but he continues his chase for the Nba Scoring Lead. Dirk Nowitzki is currently 3rd in the league in scoring with an eye popping 26.3 points per game! He is as close to Larry Bird as I have ever seen although there is only one L.Bird. You could also say there is only one Nowitzki!


Keep it up Dirk. He is prooving why he was voted NBA MVP not that long ago. Maybe he can make another run at an award. The Mavericks will have to start playing better. The rest of the team needs to step it up.

I always keep wondering, why do certain people label this guy a "choke artist?"

Dirk to me is as tough as any player ever to play in the NBA, there are so many anti-white biases out there.

That's right, appreciate him now while still in his prime! It will be years before another white dude can average 20-25 points for an entire season. I hope he can make it to 10 All-Star appearances, and win a Title.

Mike Miller, Biedrins, Chris Kaman, Bargnani, Bogut, Dunleavy, Gasol, and even Linus Kleiza with starting minutes have a chance to average 20 points a game. But for a white to do it for 9 or more years? Dirk Nowitzki is as unique any great white player like Larry Bird. We'll have to wait for at least another generation before the next truly great white player comes along after Dirk.

Awesome game by my favorite athlete, Dirk Nowitzki. His two steals and three blocks contradict the absurd notion he plays no defense. I hope Jason Terry(broken hand)is not out too long, The Mavs have little depth in the scoring department.
