Michael Schumacher's wife is White (thank goodness!)

Hopefully for Dirk's sake, this will straighten him out a bit. He might settle this time for some beautiful white gal, or Asian babe.

Even Germany's soccer players can do way better than what Dirk did.

But, look on the bright side, at least this proves Dirk is NOT gay. He's real hot-blooded man who is a little naive, and misguided when it comes to women. But, he's definitely a REAL genius when it comes to basketball. Definitely one of the best ever when it comes to basketball.

Finally Nowitzki is rid of her and cheers to him for stepping up to his responsibilities as a father. Pick a real lady next time, at least a cute one because she was not.

The tramp may have had a stupid abortion but glad Dirk is now 100% free to move on and make better choices in the future. Thanks for the update White Lightning.

The crazy thing is that Dallas has done nothing to improve their team. Dirk will be in the same boat he has been in for a very long time. You can't make the finals with little more than a one man team. Kidd is too old, Howard is too busy toking up and the rest of the guys other than Terry don't impress me much. What a shame!

The Marion signing was a decent acquistion but the loss of Marcin Gortat to the Magic was a blow.

Oh yeah. I forgot about Marion. He is a little older, but still a quality player. I also thought the Suns should have traded Amare instead of Mario a few years ago.

The Gortat loss was devastating. He will never even start in Orlando.

Nowitzki speaks: Star 'doing fine' after turmoil

Dirk Nowitzki played less basketball this offseason than he ever has in his life, which is one of the reasons he thought it might be the longest offseason of his life.

He was happily proven wrong.

Nowitzki returned to the United States on Friday after some four months away feeling refreshed and excited about training camp for the first time he can remember. Insisting that he's "doing fine" as he moves past the off-court turmoil in his life, Nowitzki described himself as "fired up" as he steps into his 12th NBA season, clearly antsy after taking a break from national-team duty.

In a phone interview shortly before he flew back to Dallas, Nowitzki confessed to ESPN.com that he thought it was "going to be a tough summer" following the arrest of his ex-fiancee at his home in May during the Dallas Mavericks' second-round playoff series and the subsequent claims by Crista Taylor -- which have since proven to be unfounded -- that she was carrying Nowitzki's child.

"But I think everybody who's seen me recently knows I'm doing fine and knows that I had a pretty decent summer," Nowitzki told ESPN.com. "I did some fun things, did a little traveling. It was not as bad as I thought. And I'm actually excited about camp, which the last 10-11 years I haven't been because I always played [for Germany] in the summer.

"When it all first happened during the playoffs, I thought I would really be thinking about it all the time, all day, every day. But I came home [in late May] and took a great vacation [to Crete, Greece] with my family. In tough times, I think my family has always been there for me and they were again this year. They took my mind off all this stuff. I got to enjoy [sister Silke's two] kids and I was already doing a lot better after that. It just got better and better and got to the point where I didn't even think about [the situation] for long periods of time."

Nowitzki was on a league-sponsored Basketball Without Borders trip in South Africa in September with fellow stars Dwight Howard and Chris Bosh and a few other players when he found out that a pregnancy test given to Taylor -- which had been sought by Nowitzki's legal team through a court order -- had been confirmed as negative.

"A little weight came off the shoulders," Nowitzki said. "I was [mostly] worried about that because the situation for the kid wouldn't have been the best, so it's the best situation now that she's not pregnant.

"But if she would have been pregnant, I think I would have managed, too. I'm 31 years old. I would have taken the responsibility and I would have handled it."

Asked how he reacted to the news in August that Taylor received a five-year prison sentence for violating terms of her probation in Missouri from a decade-old forgery and felony theft case, Nowitzki said: "It is what it is. Those are things she did way before I ever knew her. ... For me, it's over. I'm ready to move on."

Nowitzki acknowledged that he knows he'll get some questions about Taylor at the Mavericks' annual media day Monday, since the bulk of his interviews on the subject have been in his native Germany in recent weeks. He repeatedly deflected personal questions during Dallas' five-game series with the Nuggets. But he said he also plans to tell the assembled media that "this is going to be my last time talking about it."

"I just want to move on and play," Nowitzki said. "Let's get the season going. I really miss playing basketball on a high level. This was the first time in the summer that I didn't compete on a high level and I miss competing.

"I'm really looking forward to meeting all the new guys because we made some good moves. Obviously I think [Shawn] Marion can help us on both ends of the floor, address some [of Dallas' lack of] athletic ability. I think [Quinton] Ross is going to be able to guard some scoring 2s that have given us trouble. I think [Drew] Gooden is a nice piece. Tim Thomas gives us more shooting, which we need.

"I'm fired up. I'm ready to get this whole thing started. I'm ready to focus on having a great season."

The Mavericks are similarly optimistic about Nowitzki's mindset and freshness after a joint decision by Nowitzki and owner Mark Cuban for the 7-footer to skip the recent European Championships in Poland. Coupled with nine completely basketball-free weeks at the start of the summer, withdrawing from the national team gave Nowitzki an unprecedented amount of recovery time after he produced huge numbers against Denver -- averaging 34.4 points and 11.6 rebounds -- in spite of the public nature of the drama in his personal life.

"It was tough for me to watch [Germany play] on TV, knowing I could have helped, but I think mentally it was a great decision to get away and not always be under pressure in the summer and kind of relax," Nowitzki said. "It was great for the mental state of my game, so I can start fresh when I get back, mentally and physically."

Asked about the Mavericks' outlook as a group, Nowitzki said: "It's very important for us to keep Josh [Howard] healthy. When he was healthy last year, we were pretty good, so hopefully with this [ankle] surgery that he had he's going to be able to stay healthy. When he's out there, I think we're a different team.

"I still think we can be a dangerous team. We can play big with [Erick Dampier] at the 5. We can go really small with me at the 5 and Marion at the 4. Now we're so long, we should actually be a pretty decent defensive team. I think we can do a lot of things once we're all healthy.

"But I also understand that the West is still a beast. I like all the moves, but all the good teams got even better, so I'm kind of curious to see where we fit in in the West."

It's also a big season for Nowitzki because he has the option to opt out of the final year of his contract and join the free agent class of 2010. Team sources say that the Mavericks' intent is to sign Nowitzki to an extension before he ever hits the open market, but those talks might actually be put off until next summer because Nowitzki continues to suggest that he won't opt out and instead play out the 2010-11 season with Dallas at $21.5 million.

Cuban likewise gives the impression that he expects Nowitzki to complete his current deal, telling ESPN.com: "I foresee not talking about [Nowitzki's contract situation] with the media at all during the year and we have all next summer to discuss."

Nowitzki described his relationship with Cuban as "stronger than ever" when his withdrawal from the national team was announced in August. He reiterated this week that he doesn't intend to give the opt-out issue deep consideration until after the playoffs.

"I still haven't really thought about it that much," Nowitzki said. "I always said I wanted to finish my career in Dallas and nothing that happened the last two years has changed that. As far as I'm concerned, I'm thinking about playing this contract to the end and we'll go from there. We all know, in this business, things can change in a heartbeat. But as of now, I don't plan on opting out. I plan on finishing my career in Dallas."

Dirk has been and continues to be my favorite white athlete. I am happy he has found the peace of mind and the rest he needed this summer. Hope he gets a ring before his Hall of Fame career is over.

Good for Dirk! It Doesn't matter what he does from this point on.. no matter what, ignorant people will continue to bash him for not being tough, not being a leader, etc, etc... True Mavs fans don't care... Those who have actually watched him and his actions on/off the court this past decade can truly attest to what a stand up guy Dirk is. He may never get a championship, but those who have really watched know he's Top 5 player in the NBA and a future Hall of Famer.

Does that even make sense? Wouldn't somebody be receiving huge child-support payments from Dirk if she had popped out a monstrous child of his??

Secondly, Dirk is DUMBER than "this tramp"... I wish he would play near an active volcano/lava flow!

Well this post certainly goes against the the support Dirk usually gets on this site. I only suggested she may have got a abortion because that was what the rumor was online and it was suggested in a blog I read on the situation by somebody that covers the Mavericks locally. I don't believe she was ever pregnant with Dirk's child but at the time I wrote that it was a possibility. You are right most women would go for the child support but this woman was not particulary bright and so anything is possible. Dirk has learned from this and shouldn't be thrown under the bus or in a volcano as you put it.

Dirk WAS dumb for having anything to do with "her"... You don't think the affletes (who nearly always covet White women) are laughing at him?

If Dirk was with a beautiful colored woman, I wouldn't have a problem with that. The affletes would also be furious. This lass, for example:

http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/cheerleaders/Cheerleader.asp?cheerleader_id=42

Watch the video! She definitely appears to be a mixed Latina-type. She has deadly curves and she listens to "White" music! I don't think she's Italian or anything, but she has a nice skull and can almost pass for Euro. I wouldn't mind meeting her.

This lady is 100,000 times better-looking than the creature named Cristal... from the St. Louis swamp.

EDIT: I just watched the video again. It's weird how her lips look bigger at the end of the video. I know that certain things are definitely done when they do shoots. She definitely appears to be a colored woman, but she has a White voice which is a rare thing!Edited by: Deadlift

Well nobody disputes around here that Dirk could have always done better in the looks department. She must have really spun a web to snag him for as long as she did.

Dirk has now scored 20+ points in 28 consecutive games. That's the longest active streak in the NBA. The 20,000 point mark is getting really close. Tom Chambers was the last white player to reach that plateau in 1995.

Nowitzki will also become the first European (white especially) to achieve that milestone. I'm so glad the highest scoring European player in NBA history is white and blond, just like Larry Bird.

The legend of Dirk Nowitzki continues, as he almost single-handedly destroyed his long-time nemesis, the Utah Jazz in the 4th quarter:

40 points (12-22 FG's, 1-3 3pt's, 15-16 FT's)
11 rebounds
5 assists
2 steals
5 blocks

The Dallas Mavericks won the game 96-85. Dirk was spectacular on both ends, and this will go down as one of his greatest moments in a long and illustrious NBA career. Like his good friend Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki is a once in a life-time legend!!

I agree with you 100%! Dirk is as good as Bird. He just doesn't have the talent around him. He never has and that makes me angry. To watch Dirk play basketball is a work of art. A thing of beauty! Can we ever hope for another? I think there are guys that could be as good but the question is if any nba team will have the guts to have a white superstar and give him 20-25 shots a night to go along with playing at least 35 minutes. I credit Dallas for realizing just how special he is. We need some other teams to do the same. Maybe in Ny Dantoni will find a way to bring along Bargnini!

I was shocked when I saw that Dirk scored 40 points on ESPN.  I checked the stats after the 3rd and Dirk only had 11 points or so.  He blew up in the 4th and scored 29 points.  This is what legends do.

Awesome game by my favorite athlete last night. Red Hot Dirk and the Mavs play the Hornets tonight on ESPN. Dirk looks well rested and ready to put up his best numbers ever.

Dirk and Nash had sub-par games last night, but hey, that's to be expected anyway. Here's Dirk's legendary 4th quarter:

Part 1
Part 2

That's one too many OWNAGE by Dirk on the Jazz!

Another day in the office for Dirk Nowitzki, leading Dallas to a 95-90 win over Detroit. I noticed something Dirk's not done so much in the past this year, scoring 15+ points in a quarter, and that includes tonight, where he had 15 points in the 4th quarter. He also had 15 points in the 3rd quarter against Minnesota, and of course the 29 fourth quarter points vs. Utah. It's time I give it a break on Dirk, he'll be performing like this all season long, and I'll just wait for his 20,000th point! He may very well score 2,000 points again this season.

25 points (11-27 FG's, 3-3 FT's)
6 rebounds
5 assists
1 steal

I still say the whole pregnancy bs was to "blackinize" Dirk.
Seriously, Dirk is too good to get the typical "white-boy" treatment. They need some way to explain him being so dominant despite that pesky melanin-deficiency.

I've actually heard B(E)SPN say that Dirk is the most difficult person to match up against in the NBA. He's too bigfor guards and Small Forwards, and too fast for Power Forwards and Centers.

He's blonde-haired and blue-eyed, so that pretty much rules out any "blackness" in his ancestry.

I think that was the best they could come up with.

Was at Mavs/Pistons game, clinching shot in the fourth quarter over Ben Wallace fully extended was very, very, very tough. Seeing Dirk fullcourt and close up though, his D is an embarassment.
