Devon Allen doesn’t help our cause, because his speed will be attributed to the 1/8 black genetics.
There is a photo with Allen his father and sister and they in no way look White in that photo. Yes it's a tan but short of Hulk Hogan and George Hamilton I have never seen somebody of Anglo Saxon stock ever tan that dark. Granted his mother could be Greek, Italian or Spanish but even with that being half English he wouldn't be able to tan that dark. That said if he was from Brazil or the Anglo Caribbean he would be White. Rhonda Rousey has roughly the same African ancestry but she has never been considered Black and I doubt she considers herself that.Sorry to bear the bad news. This is from Devon Allen's twitter in 2020 in the wake of the George Floyd riots. https://twitter.com/devonallen13/status/1266705742893125633?lang=en
This guy could probably clear the hurdle (heh) for the Nuremberg Race Laws, but he still identifies as black because obviously there is social value in that. Allen's father appears to be a fair-skinned quadroon with somewhat frizzy hair. Again, it's not a judgment call - he literally calls himself black.
Funny story I had relative who is a typical DWF ie the Klitschko's only clinch and if an Ali was around would be heavyweight champ and he thought Toucan was an Arab or Turk and wondered why he was involved in Black Lives Matter racial politics...I agree with this. I still remember the debate back when the Toucan (Kapernick) was in college and people here counted him as White. Meanwhile he goes onto to **** on the White family that adopted him, provide him with a stable upbringing and tries to identify with his absentee black father.
It just illustrates again how ridiculous the definitions are in the U.S. when it comes to race. So Devon Allen, by claiming he's Black, is therefore a Negro, no different in his racial categorization than the blackest full-blooded Negro football player. The "one drop rule" is ludicrous and is a relic from a time when there was a lot of White racism, but it's beneficial to the professional race hustlers and all who define themselves as racial victims, which is why it's unlikely to change any time soon.
His progression is kind of interesting. He had a 12.99 in September of 2021, but now at age 27, he is running better than ever. Besides his recent 12.84, He did a 4.35, 40 at his recent football tryout and a 10.20, 100 meters this past April. We have people on this board already bailing on Boling, and he hasn't even turned 22 yet.
The high hurdles is a very technical event where an older athlete can win medals when if he was competing in the 100 he would be on his last legs. Both the men's and women's side have examples of older athletes winning medals in their 30's. Until recently pure speed events hardly had these examples."Bailing" good Lord get a life if you are bailing on someone, that is fandom to the extreme. I hope the young man does well but I'm not gonna put all my chips on that hand of poker. Anyway I would rather hear at CF about how someone here actually ran track at a lower level and could break 11s than get all wound up about one person with extreme talent not being the absolute best of the best every day, that is unicorn stuff.
Whatever about his ethnicity - his 12.84 is about the shoes!
Everybody's times are being lowered at all levels of competition, probably by as much as 4%. No other shoe in history has ever given a runner this much improvement. That's funny. The tecnology is getting better all the time but any hurdler can wear those spikes. Devon Allen is not winning because of the just the spikes. Hahaha.
Interesting. It’s the same in every sport, though. It’s a thin margin at the top, so you better have the best shoes. Nobody’s playing basketball in Chuck Taylor’s anymore.Karsten Warholm's opinion:
