A couple of highly ranked QBs make verbal commits. PSU gets another very good white QB who unfortunately will get paired with one the clown James Franklin. I miss @Shadowlight and his rants against PSU and Franklin. I doubt he will ever make a return to this site - another great member of the CF community just falls off the face of the earth.
Oregon received a verbal commitment from four-star 2022 QB Tanner Bailey.
Bailey (6'1/195) has been on Oregon's radar for quite some time now, as the Ducks offered the four-star quarterback in the spring 2020. The Gordo, Alabama native was able to make an unofficial visit in late-February, and over the weekend he informed HC Mario Cristobal and OC Joe Moorhead of his intention to verbally commit. While Bailey was unable to see the coaching staff or the facilities while in Eugene, as the NCAA extended the recruiting dead period due to COVID-19, he saw enough while on campus to pick Oregon over Alabama.
Penn State received a verbal commitment from four-star 2022 QB Drew Allar.
Penn State now has two talented quarterbacks in its 2022 recruiting class, with Allar (6'5/220) joining Beau Pribula. Allar had an excellent junior season at Medina (Ohio) HS, throwing for more than 2,900 yards and 26 touchdowns. 247Sports ranks Allar sixth among pro-style quarterbacks in the Class of 2022, and he is also a top-100 prospect regardless of position. Indiana, Iowa State, Louisville, Michigan, Mississippi, Notre Dame and Tennessee are just a few of the other programs that offered Allar a scholarship.
