Austin Proehl committed to North Carolina, not Wake Forest. Im wondering how bad of a thing that is. Ricky played at Wake and might have had more influence on Austin getting playing time, kind of like Dicky Lyons Jr played at Kentucky, at the time when he was literally the only White wideout getting playing time in the SEC, at least starting for sure.

I'm glad for Austin, but I'm wondering how a 5'9 160 lb. guy that had 189 yards rushing and 500 yds. receiving, and we're not sure about his speed or anything else for that matter got to sign with UNC.....

When there's a 5'11 205 lb RB with 4.5 speed and 4.0 shuttle and rushed for over 3,000 yards his junior year, can't even get a sniff from UNC! Oh yeah and a 4.1 GPA.

Sorry, I forgot he's white and his daddy didn't play in the NFL.

Contrary to what we see here at CF most of the time, there are exceptions for certain white players!

I haven't had the time to look at all the teams but it looks like Central Michigan went with a huge majority white 2014 recruiting class. It looks like 14 out of 19 players they signed are white. This includes an explosive rb in Trent Grimes, a free safety moving to corner in Anthony Borisano and they have a white wr as well. Wisconsin on the other hand went very black this year and that is very disappointing considering how deep their defense was last year with almost all white players in the front 7 being white in the 3 deep.

well thats his junior stats, his senior year was 1190 recieving yards on 89 catches 8 tds, only 20 rushing yards. I understand what your saying though, if it weren't for his dad he wouldn't be on anybody's radar, he bulked up to 170 and his reported to be 5 10, still not enough to be on anbody's radar. He looks to have speed but not blazing speed

lets just see if he actually gets to see the field. Steve Korte was the son of Saints lineman Steve Korte. Kid was 5'11 230 or 240 and ran a 4.3 at LSU's pro day, never saw the field but got a scholarship because of his dad. He was a halfback, I guess they couldn't have him AND Jacob Hester both getting carries (he came out like a year after Hester, or maybe the same year I forget)

Then again rb is much harder to break into, I wonder what kind of chances would have happened if John Riggins had a son who played halfback.

Wisconsin has a new negro loving coach Gary Anderson - he will be turning that team blacker and blacker. I believe he recruited a black quarterback last year.

One receiver who I have not see mentioned on this site is Tyler Patrick. Patrick is 5'11" and runs a 4.4 40 although there are some claims that put him around 4.38. He is headed to Kansas and received a lot of interest from big schools but less offers. He may be the hidden jewel of this class.

Zach Bornstein (6'4"/4.50) will turn down several MWC offers and attend UCLA as a decathlete.

No problem Carolina Speed! & thanks for the additional info everybody....

The number of Outside Linebackers prospects throughout the U.S. seems decent...as mentioned earlier...#2 Rated OLB in the Nation according to Rivals.com... Dillon Bates (FL) 6'-3" 219 will play for Tennesee; where his Dad Bill(ex-NFL Cowboys) did....

Next was not until #11 Joey Alfieri(OR) 6'-4" 225 (4.5!) signed with Stanford...the Ducks missed out on another defensive prospect...then numerous prospects emerged....

Other OLB's to Watch...
Kyle Berger (OH) to Ohio State
Chase Winovich(PA)... Michigan
Byron Bullough (MI)...Michigan State...the Bullough tradition continues
Keith Holcombe (AL)...Alabama...he made sure recruiters noticed him at Summer Camps!
Sam Hubbard (OH)...Michigan...6'-6" 223
Ty Schwab (FL)...Boston College
Troy Reeder (DE)...Penn State...6'-3" 232 (4.5)
Jared Wangler (MI)...Michigan
Nico Firios (FL)...Kentucky 6'-2" 225 (4.53)
Tyler Cook (CA)...BYU...6'-3" 220 (4.51)
Donavin Buck (CA)...San Diego State
Chris Frey (OH)...Michigan State
Sam Seonbuchner (WI)...Iowa State

ILB/OLB Connor Strachan(MA) is a physical specimen at 240lbs running a 4.47! His dad (Steve) was a NFL RB for the Raiders back in the 80's. He should be the next great LBer at Boston College! Who could have played for any team in the country

*Other ILB's to watch....
Michael Ferns (OH) to Michigan...6'-3" 233
Andrew Beck(FL)....Texas...6'-3" 230
Nick Holman (AL)...South Florida
Sam Sizelove (TX)....Kansas State...6'-2" 229/4.6
Dominic Cizauskas (WI)...Wisconsin...6'-1" 250!
Greer Martini (VA)...Notre Dame
Corey Henderson (VA) ...Buffalo

This years Inside Line Backer Rankings is not % wise as white as the Outside Line Backers... according to Rivals.com. Only about 20% in the Top 30....

6'-3" 185 ATH Matt Morrissey(IL) will play DB for Michigan State....his Dad played LBer for the Super Bowl Champ Bears in the 80's.

Making a quick scan of the demographics in the Recruiting Classes....

Stanford signed 11 white players out of the 20....over 50%

Michigan State 9 white & 12 black

Texas signed only 5 white & 18 black

And the pathetic Steve Spurrier at South Carolina who complained they need to lower academic standards to have his athletes be able to play...ONLY 1 White (QB)......21 black....

TT, how many white RB's have you found committing to D-1 schools other than McCaffrey and I don't think McCaffrey will play RB at Stanford, just my prediction! I can't find a Drew Cerlis. There is a Drew Celis, but he looks half black in the photos I can see. Can you find a picture of him?

I love looking back and seeing how wrong we can all b. Especially me. And I really miss that Twinkle Toes poster. :)
