Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80!

A few weeks ago, LeMaitre fans surely recall his excellent 200 where LeMessiah beat another very promising French youngster, Martin Lamy. We found a shaky youtube of that. Well, as luck would have it, I just found someone else's video of the same event. This one is not only much better, but it very clearly shows that LeMaitre had to bobble and dance in order to avoid a lane violation on the second curve. Check it out. It gets hairy for him right when he should have been in full stride. Take that away and, seriously, his time could have been maybe .30 faster. LeMaitre, as inexperienced as he is and with all the difficulties his long legs give him on tight indoor turns, could easily have been sitting on the world #1 time for the indoor 200.

Well, apparently I'm in the Twilight Zone. Every time I tried to post that link, some letters would be cut off. So after work, I thought I'd see if I could figure it out, and tried to go back to the video, which I'd stumbled upon earlier by searching "Martin Lamy," not LeMaitre. But now the video is gone. I can't even find it under Lamy. Ah, well. Anyway, the cool thing was that LeMaitre's time would have been even better if he'd not lost some momentum, tiptoeing to avoid a lane violation on the second curve. Really just confirms how incredible he is.

This guy is an amazing talent. He will change the way people look at white 100 meter sprinters! He has a long open stride like Bolt that eats up ground! A Bronze or even a Silver is not out of the question for 2012 for Christophe. I don't see him beating a healthy Bolt though unless Bolt gets banned for PEDs. Christophe will go sub 10 by London and may even break 9.9 before then!

I've said this before a while back but I can't help but imagine what Dallas Robinson might have been able to do in the sprints if he would have stayed with it. He has a 6.64 in the 60 and he worked full time at a tire shop. If you saw his training and race videos, he was alot like Lemaitre. A very tall, lean sprinter who eats up the track with his strides. I wish he would consider making a comeback.

Hopefully Martin Lamy will continue to progress. Hopefully he can learn from Christophe. I really want to see this trend of taller sprinters continue. Once they get going, they have a moon stride and it equals very fast times. Bolt has showed us all that being tall can be an advantage if you can get the fast turnover ratio of an average height sprinter.

Lemaitre has all the tools. He will help to break the mold and inspire many kids to take up athletics. Is it summer yet?Edited by: white lightning

Dammit! This may be a problem for the website guru. In theory, though, if you type in the first half of the link then type in (without the spaces), the letter sequence I give in the second half of the last message, you should be able to get to the race. So weird. Maybe seeing this video is sort of like finding the holy grail or something: You have to be pure at heart...

Dallas Robinson always leaves me wondering what might have been. god damn shame he couldn't stick with it. viva la Lemaitre!

About Dallas Robinson; last I heard he was involved with "HPC Elite", a not-so impressive track club run by an overt anti-white racist who subscribes to the negro supremacy theory of athletic demographics. I doubt Robinson got proper training there. I would not even be surprised if he was sabotaged by his coach who displays hostility toward the idea of White athletic excellence.

Christophe Lemaitre was really inspired by Teddys world record long jump in Doha. The whole French Team is hungry to reach the same level someday. Here is what Christophe had to say about his teammate.

I suprised they didn't bring up Rockets 10.08 in the hundred. I love PePe, but the Rocket my turn out to be the better of the 2. great things will happen this summer!

Lemaitre was much more consistent in the 100 running 10.3 and under in most of his races.

How is this for a race. Christophe Lemaitre will race in the biggest track stadium in Paris against Bolt and Powell in July! I wish I could be there. He is set to show his future potential as a world class sprinter. He will be pumped up for this race! Here is an article with the last part talking about Lemaitre racing the 2 of the 3 fastest guys in the world on home soil. I can't wait! Viva Lemaitre! Viva Le France!

Yeah I agree. I've seen the video several times and it's great to see Ronald Pognon congratulating Christophe and celebrating with him. It shows the character of Pognon. You don't see that every day. Just ask Craig Pickering who gets the look of death from his teammates.

Christophe is going to be the one to watch this summer! Let the countdown begin!

The world's fastest synthetic track will be inaugurated in Barcelona's Olympic Stadium Lluís
Companys de Montjuïc. Athletes participating at this summer's European Athletics Championships
Barcelona 2010 will compete on the Mondotrack FTX, same surface as for the Summer Olympics in
Beijing's Bird's Nest, where five world records have been set.

The track presentation will take place this Friday, 16 April, at 10.45am. Barcelona's mayor Jordi
Hereu, the state's sports secretary Jaime Lissavetzky, and European Athletics president Hansjörg
Wirz will inaugurate the blue-coloured track.

The Barcelona 2010 Organising Committee was aware from the very beginning that the best
possible track needs to be installed in the Olympic Stadium in order to create an optimal setting for
all athletes and guarantee top performances. This important objective for the 20th European
Athletics Championships has now been accomplished with the recent installation.

Mondotrack FTX, which is designed and manufactured for high level sport facilities, improves
athletics performances. It guarantees a greater contact area for the athletes, better lateral support
of the foot, higher energy return, an optimal control and comfort

I had blocked out some vacation time to attend the Euro Championships and watch LeMaitre go sub-10.
But the flights are very expensive. May go elsewhere and watch it on TV.
I went to the Berlin World Championships last year. I thought he would run sub-10 then, but he was dis-qualified for a false start.

Hey jacknyc. We need to get a group together to head to London. Send me a private message when you have time. I'm am 100% interested in going if we can get a few guys and we can get a package deal. Could take two weeks off work. Do some site seeing in the nearby countries and chase some European ladies. For those of you that are married, we could still have a few drinks at the pub. Mostly excited to see Lemaitre make history. He just might be on that medal stand by London. Any medal would be great!

Thanks for the tip on getting to Barcelona. I'll check it out. I would love to witness the 1st white sub-10.
London 2012 . . . . that's still aways off, but I'll keep it in mind, WL. :)
