After second start, Carter "stopped" running after 50 meters and did 10.95.
He did a strange race.

This probably contributed to disturb CL, as Carter was his neighbour on the track.

Very good analysis. On the video, one can clearly see that Lemaitre passes Carter after 30m. for the next 30m Lemaitre keep running (probably hearing Carter away in his back). at 60 then he turns his head to check , to find out he is way too late (i think he is 6 th at 70/80m). He then accelerate to get the 4th place.

I predict Christophe will get the 2011 world bronze within 2-3 yeasrs. One of the top 3 in that race will get found out and he wil be awarded a medal.
Andy Turner only had to wait about 5 hours. Christophe will have to wait longer.

i believe too that the false start of bolt was intentional
we all know bolt wants to be a legend
maybe it was part of his plan to become a legend
i think he tried to avoid testing, or he knew that he was not quick enough to win, and he decided to lose honorably (he remains unbeaten)
we will see how dominant he will be in the 200m final, against blake, alonso edwards (who is in good shape) and ofcourse christophe

Nesta Carter and the Jamaicans

quoting from a track forum:

"At this point, the number of "coincidences" and "accidental events" among the Jamaican 100m crew has IMHO passed some sort of a credibility threshold.

We start with a crew of 6: Frater, Carter, Mullings, Blake, Powell, Bolt.

Events, in chronological order:

Mullings - tests positive
Powell - bails at the last minute from his best chance ever
Frater - 6th in his heat, beaten by Ndure and Kimmons, doesn't even advance to semi's
Bolt - false-starts in the final
Carter - trots the final to finish last after a good start

5 of the 6 represent total failures, in a year in which they were expected to sweep the medals.

Sorry, but for me it adds up to suspicion.

So what excuse has the team given for Carter's performance?"

you can also add the other caribeans, like thompson the trinidadian, the one who ran 9.85 this year and did not make the finals in daegu
and blake has already been caught

strange
i think that people from nordic countries are taller and more built like bolt than people from south of europe
maybe you are right...i don't know
They are probably bigger yes, but they have shorter more thick set limbs and larger bodies. This decreases the surface area to body mass ratio which is important for surviving the cold, but its bad for running.

christophe will run with new shoes for the 200m
these shoes were created specially for the 200m
he never tried them, because it's the kind of shoes that you can only wear for a few hours
i think it might be important, maybe one day, like in swimming, they will realize that some shoes helped a lot the sprinter (in swimming they stopped using a bodyskin because it was too fast http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodyskin)

I'm ready for Christophe to get some payback tonight. He has not broken his 200 meters p.b. all year. Who would have thought that? Alot of it was because of rain or negative wind. He has had almost a week of rest and he is ready. We are only around 6 hours away from the start of his quest to make the medal stand. I'm getting so pumped right now. I am going to go crazy if he goes sub 20 and wins a medal. Let's hope for good conditions, and a nice legal tail wind.

Kim Collins and Walter Dix qualified. Not amazing times (20"4x or 20"5x).

Edit : Bolt qualified (20"30). Christian Malcom out !

Edit 2 : Ndure qualified (he's good !). Darvis Patton too.

Edit 3 : Lemaitre easy ! (20"51) Mardin Anderson out.

Edit 4 : Ashmeade ok (amazing Ashmeade, 20"47 easily !) Jeremy Dodson out.

Looks like Christophe has a very easy semifinal heat. He should have no problems winning it, and he must win it to avoid a repeat of the 100m. He does not want to get another bad lane assignment, and winning the heat will ensure one of the inside lanes, 3-6.

This is shaping up very nicely now and I cannot wait until tomorrow! Go Christophe!

for WL, there will be no sub 20 for Christophe I think in Daegu because from the beginning there is a persistent negative wind during the semi and the finals, the 100 was slow and so should be the deuce, running around his PB should be enough to get a medal IMO

the jamaican understood who was the best on th 200
he ran almost his PB with bad conditions, and in the semi!

and he wasn't distracted by the brazilian's false start
good!

He's not at the same level as Bolt. Bolt jogs for the last 100 m.
But Lemaitre can defenetly take silver on Dix.
I think silver and bronze will be shared between Dix and Lemaitre.

I think Bolt will run a 19.60 if he don't stop running before the end.

i don't see bolt going under 19.90 if the conditions are the same
or maybe 19.85

i'm really impressed by the time of christophe!
let me dream! lol

here is the final positions:

I would have prefer to see him run lane 5 with ashmead at 6, so he has had a strong opponent in his view. On the other side, lane 6 is good as the bend is less dificult. As it is he's weak point, I would say it's great.

How the hell did this start list was done?
Why is CL not at lane 5?
Why is Bolt not at lane 4?

It seems to be a not so bad position for CL, by the way.

I think an outside lane is good for Lemaitre, because there is less of a curve for him to run, and running the curve is his weak point.
Great time in the semis - I just hope he didn't expend too much energy/effort, and has something left for the final.
Bonne chance!
