Christian McCaffrey

He currently is on pace for more than 1,100 yards both rushing and receiving. Very good chance he breaks Faulk’s RB receiving record.

Revisiting my predictions for his production this year:
Perhaps it is time to give our annual McCaffrey production predictions:

230 rushes for 1215 yards and 12 TD; 60 receptions for 580 yards and 3 TD.
he will likely end up with about 100 fewer rushing yards but 400-500 more receiving yards. Might post a couple more touchdowns.

All Time Receptions List:
88. LaDamian Tomlinson-624
90. Rob Gronkowski-621
91. Julian Edelman- 620
92. Danny Amendola-617
93. Jordy Nelson-613
94. Christian McCaffrey-610

Amazing that McCaffrey could pass the players above on the all-time receptions list this season!

CMC secured his 5th 1000 yard rushing season with 2 games to go.

On the receiving front, he's 151 yards short of 1000 yards, which seeing his use case recently may be a tall ask - but with Pearsall put maybe he will get the ball more through the air? Again, it would take at least 8 catches a game (coming off 6 catches game but only about 30 yards) and potentially breaking a long one or two. Maybe they will feed him as that record is very juicy but who knows.

He already has tied his career best receiving TD output with 7 and is currently 3rd in NFL in TDs scored (9-7) behind only Taylor (19) and Gibbs (17) and within reach with two high octane games.

Another fantastic season, especially with the team experiencing so many key injuries. He is really making the case for how valuable he is.

I would hope the team does what it can to put him in reach of a second 1000-1000 season as it is unlikely to be bested for decades.

The 49ers have 2 big games coming up at home to wrap up the #1 seed in the NFC. The top 3 teams are playing each other for that spot and it should make for a much easier road to the SB than having to go to Seattle or Chicago in January for a potential championship game. If Cmac gets his 1000 yards receiving in the course of those games, great. But that can’t be the goal for SF, they need to win both games however they can. When you have so many other receiving weapons on that team, it’s extra remarkable that Cmac is this close to 1000 yards in the first place.

On another note, this feels like the last hurrah for the Shanahan/Lynch, Cmac, Kittle, Juice, etc group we have been watching for several years. I was afraid the window had closed after the loss to KC two years ago, but they‘ve bounced back this year through some adversity and arguably have their last and best chance to win a Super Bowl since the AFC is wide open this year after the Chiefs dynasty ended. NE, BUF, DEN are all good teams, but I believe SF is better. Their offense closely resembles those great NE teams of the 2010s we enjoyed for many years.

Since they have a great young QB in Purdy, they can always rebuild and retool around him, but the offense would most likely be a typical caste outfit, along with their coal black defense and not much to root for. Enjoying this current group while we can.

I hope there is another year or two of the core group together. But they need to invest in road-graders for the offensive line and need some white talent on defense.

I was just thinking yesterday - he finally looks healthy and has the spring in his step again those last few games. He should be ran down whereas he's fresh and spry. His conditioning must be insane.

Looks like Christian found the right balance between heavy training and conditioning but not over doing it. Hope he can continue to shine for a few more seasons, ala Derrick Henry who's still going very strong and will turn 32 in a few days.
McCaffrey passed Joe Mixon and Jamal Charles on the all time rushing list last night. He now has 7,566 yards and is 63rd all time. I'm hoping he's around for at least 3 more years. I believe he can eclipse 10,000 yards if he can stay healthy. I believe that will cement his HOF chances.
He also passed Jordy Nelson and Danny Amendola on the receptions list with 620 career catches. He's tied with Julian Edelman for 91st all time. Two catches next week and he'll pass Rob Gronkowski. Five catches and he'll pass HOF LaDainian Tomlinson.
He passed Eddie George last night on the YFS list with 12,922. He's 56th all time.
With his 98th career TD last night he sits 29th all time. If he could score 2 more on Saturday, he could tie Steeler great Franco Harris with 100 career TD's.
I guess it would be wishful thinking that McCaffrey could have a career like the great John Riggins. They're different kinds of RB's, but Riggins was injured early in his career and ended up gaining more yards in his thirties than he did in his twenties....and didn't even play in his year/age 31 season because of a contract dispute.
Riggins was also regulated to the FB position during the Jack Pardee era of Washington Redskins.

With his dedication to conditioning, I can see him with three more quite productive years (assuming he doesn’t get hurt) with 1000 on the ground and 400 through the air.

I would like to see San Fransisco invest heavily in road-graders in the offensive line and also heavily in their defensive line. Games are won or lost in the trenches. If Juice is not back next year, would love to see Luepke on the team.

He deserves MVP consideration if the 49ers get the #1 seed. Has been the glue keeping that offense together this season despite lengthy injuries to Kittle, Purdy, Jennings and Pearsall.

Another Double 1k season + #1 seed is nothing to ignore. Ok with Maye winning it but CMC should get some votes.

i’m not sure where to put this, because there are several applicable threads. so, moderators, please feel free to re-locate if you think it better served elsewhere. onward!

as with many things sports related, the insight and evaluation from posters here at Caste Football is WAY ahead of the curve. many have pointed out over the years the … inaccuracy? inconsistency? flawed? … however you’d like to phrase it, issues with Collinsworth’s PFF analytics, especially with regard to its seeming downplaying of White athletes.

the most recent, even if (perhaps) not the most glaring, example garnered notice from even the most ardent of DWFs on Sunday night when the 49ers played the Bears. as is the norm, when the starters were announced, it showed their PFF rankings. and apparently Christian McCaffrey isn’t very good. “weird,” huh?

in reality, this is just more evidence to support our position. White athletes are inevitably undervalued as well as underrepresented in the NFL.
