As the season winds down in the last third of the season, and with McCaffrey holding a
commanding lead, it begs the question: when was the last white man to lead the NFL in rushing? Riggins? Taylor?

My guess would be Taylor without looking. I'm afraid to get to excited yet. No lead is safe with 6 games left.
We thought Cooper Kupp would break the all time receiving record. He came so close. I just don't want to see
Cmac fall short. Positive vibes without jinxing the kid!

Jim Taylor of Lombardi's Packers with 1474 yards and a 5.4 per carry average in 1962. Taylor had five straight 1000 yard seasons 1960-64. He finished second to Jim Brown four times, led the league in 1962.

I hope the 49's braintrust doesn't decide to "rest him up" for the playoff's ala Oueltte by Toronto...

McCaffrey with 493 career receptions, passes HOF RB Walter Payton, 492 on the all-time receptions list. He needs 73 more to pass his father Ed McCaffrey. An outstanding NFL WR.

Congrats to Christian McCaffrey on his 4th career 1,000 yard season. We all know had he not been injured he would have passed in 2020 and 2021 as well.

I think he finishes this season close to 1500 yards with a rushing title.

Has anyone else noticed media saying McCaffrey is the first 49er to surpass 1,000 yards since Gore in 2014? Several articles state this.

I know he was traded from Carolina after 6 games last year, but he went over 1,000 yards in 2022. Seems to me to just be a convenient way for media to say his 3rd 1,000 yard season rather than 4th.

I don't see any malice in it in this case tbh

I took it as more of a slight to all the 49er RBs before CMac.

He was on both Carolina and SF last year so they're correct in saying he's the first 49er to do it this year since Gore. That was the context in which it was mentioned when I was watching the game.

In 2022 CMac gained 393 yards for Carolina and 746 for the 49ers, totaling 1139. It is correct to say this is the first year he went over a thousand for the 49ers.

A good point. I suppose conditioning has occurred for me to automatically assume the media is disparaging a white athlete.

He totaled 145 yards today rushing against the Seahawks.
Would have liked for him to have scored on of those short touchdowns but I understand the call to Samual. Everyone and their mother assumed McCaffrey would get in on the one yard line. And there is not a better back at carrying out the fake.

With 115 yards rushing today, McCaffrey goes over 6,000,(6,018) career yards and moves past Chuck Foreman, Rudi Johnson, William Andrews, James Wilder and Cedric Benson and into the top 100 all time. McCaffrey sits currently at 99th and a pretty good RB in Todd Gurley next at 98th all time. McCaffrey is also over 10,000 all-purpose yards as well. 10,200+

He will add another 200+ rushing this year and maybe another 100 receiving. Maybe more of both if he has another monster game.

He is an all-time talent who would have another 1500-2000 yards had he not missed so much time during his 4th and 5th years of his prime.

He is the gold standard for a running back.

I had dinner with friends recently and stated that CMac is an all time top 10 RB at this point and by time his career ends may be top 5..

George Kittle says that he think CMac should be the league's MVP.
I would be happy if either he or Purdy win it. If Purdy wins it, then I hope CMac wins the rushing title.
If CMac wins it, then I hope Purdy wins MVP of the Super Bowl.

It's a slap in the face of all running backs that Christian McCaffrey isn't being discussed for the NFL MVP. Through
14 games he has 1292 yards rushing well over 300 yards ahead of any other running back in the NFL. Then add in
his 500 plus yards receiving and all of his touchdowns. Cmac should be a favorite in my honest opinion. I'm excited
to see if he can hit 1500 yards after 16 games as that is a normal season. Not crazy about the extra game stats wise.

If CMC can average 70 yards rushing in these last 3 games, he can go over 1500 for the season. This guy has made my season.
