Christian Hammer is another excellent heavyweight prospect from the former soviet union. He is an romanian, six feet two inches tall, 250 pounds, with a 5-1 record, his only loss was because of a shoulder injury. There are a couple of his fights on youtube and he is only 22 years old.

Because of their lousy service, which included a wrong diagnosis of the problem, two highly stressful ordeals with two outsourced idiots in Katmandu or Shangri-la or wherever who couldn't speak English intelligibly, an entire Saturday waiting for a guy to show up only to get a phone call at the end of the day that he couldn't make it because his "supervisor wouldn't authorize overtime" I went without internet access for three and a half weeks. It took me at least a dozen phone calls and talking to eight different people before they fixed my problem which turned out to be a bad connection on the line that the guy found and fixed in ten minutes once he made it out here (I live outside of town).

And all during this period that I was going through withdrawels without the internet I couldn't turn the TV on without seeing one of their commercials telling me how great they are.

But they suck. The Hock says so. (see below).

Wach will be a pretty good test for Christian. He's a very big guy at around 6'8 and has decent boxing skills. He's undefeated but hasn't faced any of the top heavyweights yet.

Mariusz Wach KOed Christian Hammer in the 6th with a smart right cross to the perfect place on the chin, the third punch of a three-punch combination.

Hammer will face Taras Bidenko 26-4(12) tomorrow in Germany. Interesting match, if Hammer loses again it will likely be the end of him as a serious prospect.

Taras Bidenko has been in with two of the hardest-punching and best young heavyweights in the world in his past two fights.

I'm not overly impressed with what I've seen of Hammer so far.

Hammer won a split decision last night over Erkan Teper to win the vacant WBO European heavyweight title. I didn't see the fight, but Teper was undefeated and has some wins over good opponents so a good showing for Hammer.

Good win for the Romanian with the cool name. Some are saying that Teper, a Turkish invader of Germany, is not so good without his drugs.
