Chicago Bears General Thread

Hope this is the year Joel Wilson makes move from practice TE to real roster. Has the makings of a Ben Johnson weapon ... if he had a QB who could get him the ball. Three-sport star from Northern Michigan who moved from QB/DE to TE at CMU.

Another White goy discount for a player that should be an entrenched starter.

Sanborn was on the Bears' roster from 2022 to 2024. During that span, his only white teammate on defense was A.J. Klein, but only for 2 games in 2022. So, he was the only white on defense for the Bears in '23 and '24. Also, was the only white on defense during his brief on-field Cowboys career in 2025 -- Logan Wilson wasn't traded for until Sanborn was placed on IR.

But, he might actually have a fellow white on defense this season: The same day Jack signed, Chicago signed veteran DT James Lynch, who most recently played for Tennessee.

Barring injury, Sanborn is pretty much assured a roster spot -- at least as a special teams mascot. Lynch certainly will not be a sure thing. We'll know better when the details of his contract comes out, as the more money doled out; more likely a player will stick around.

Below is a pretty positive analysis of Lynch's game. Good point by the person in video -- I forgot how dominate James was at Baylor. However questioning Lynch's speed coming out of Baylor is odd. Not sure why the 40 yard dash time is so important for a 315 pound DT?
