What site was that, he had a great second game! People have to start e-mailing these jackasses and telling them that they no longer respect their BS analysis. I think I may e-mail Rivals and tell them that "I am an avid football fan, but tell everyone I know that you underrate white players." "I will never subscribe to your site, where do you get off having McGuffie as the 14th best RB..total BS!" And then I will list how he is number two as far as his H.S production resume and by far the most athletic something of the sort.

I agree completely Tough, we should all do that.

yanling, i was also a huge fan of dat nguyen. i remember he was always being put down for being too small (or although unspoken, too asian/not black enough) yet he continued to always produce. it's a good thing he was a phenomenal LB, because God knows if he was only backup worthy there's no way we would've made it into the NFL being an asian/non-black and the prejudice that would go with that.

Dat Nguyen was an excellent linebacker for a few years. The way QB Timmy Chang from Hawaii was tossed on the junk heap was very reminiscent of the way so many white players have been treated by the NFL.

I rememberreading a few postsby Asians on sports boardsthat lamented Chang's treatment, but other than that he went into the memory hole like countless white football players have. The Caste System is about 99 percent affirmative action for Negroes in sports; the only major exception is baseball. Other than a brief period during the 1960s and early '70s, blacks have always been minor players in baseball, but that won't do, so "hispanics" and Asians are being imported and artificially promoted to ensure that thehated whites don't dominate a sport they naturally dominate.

I don't know that I agree that Asians are being unrightfully imported in baseball. A lot of the Asian players that have come in have fared well, Chang Ming Wang, Hediki Matsui, Ichiro Suzuki, Dice K looks pretty good. Asians are only about 2% of professional baseball.

I do agree though that MLB is over recruiting Hispanics. Baseball is about 30% Hispanic, so they are overrepresented IMO. Hispanics are about 13.5% of the U.S populous. Even though baseball has become an international sport it is still Americas game. MLB sets up loads of camps in some Carribean countries to try to find Hispanic gems. What about all the white gems from this country? It seems that all the Asians w/ the exception of Kaz Matsui in NY fare well. None of them are affirmative action experiments like some of the Hispanics.

Edited to add: I would like to see baseball find more Asian players from this country. 2% seems a little low. I'm not saying I want an overflow of Asian players but 4% or 5% would be ok with me. Maybe even 7 or 8% if MLB cut down the numbers of foreign Hispanic players.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

And other Asians have flopped. Most of the 40 percent of MLB that is hispanic, and half of minor league baseball that is hispanic, is from outside the U.S. So the fast growing U.S. hispanic population is basically irrelevant here, as it is for other sports.

MLB Inc. is trolling for Dominican and other "Latin" players, when the Appalachians and rural America are overflowing with talent. When has Appalachia ever gotten a fair shakeat anything, whether sports related or otherwise?Edited by: Don Wassall

Thats a really good point Don, and it says a lot about our society. Since I come from a similar place economically and socially, I can relate to people from Appalachia.

The Rams offense really sucks. It usually takes a new coach until year two to screw-up a good system. I believe the Rams coach is on year number two. BTW, did Drew Bennett get injured or was he just ignored the whole game? I saw Gus Ferrote underthrow him by 10 yards on what would have been a long touchdown. After that, Bennett has disappeared. Anybody know?

Brian ended up with 12 runs for 18 and 3 catches for 23. Bears TE Greg Olsen had 5 catches for 63. I think he will become a bigger part of that passing game.

So now the Leonard has had one moderate day, one good day (where he didn't get enough touches) and one poor day is this enough of an excuse for the caste system to write him off, or by virtue of Jackson being hurt until week 10 or so give him more chances than other white RB's have had in the past? Of any white runningbacks I remember in the modern age, one bad game like this was a near death sentence.

Bennett got injured, Holt is nursing the injury, Frerotte was downright terrible, line couldn't handle Gregg and Bannan and open holes, play calling was terrible for the most part... all this added up to a bad game for Brian. i think he will continue to start, but if he slips in the next game, we will see more Minor and Pittman and then he will reverse into his "true" position, fullback...

let's hope he bounces back, big time!

Sure looked like Minor had much bigger holes to run through than Leonard. I bet the Raven's were hell bent on stopping Leonard. They seemed to play with a little less fury when Minor touched the ball. I can just imagine the trash talk he heard from the brutha's on defense.

I noticed that too. Leonard is playing under extremely difficult circumstances -- wretched sumo-dominated o-line, Bulger beat up, receivers beat up, three straight weeks of good run defenses.

well, after his performance last week, the defense knew that this game will come down to stopping him. and they did, since they could easily just put 8 in the box, Frerotte was not exactly threating them with the passing game. as far as Minor goes, it's not as much bigger holes, but it was more creative playcalling imo.
and it wasn't Ray Lewis and other black players on Ravens that stopped Leonard, it was Bannan and Gregg.

mr. wonderfull:

I read as many of the responses posted on that forum as I could(without getting sick), and then I realized once again why I decided to join this site. I agree with the guy: Brian Leonard needs our support. We`re supposed to cheer on the emergence of the black quarterback in the NFL, according to all those in the politically correct media, but we can`t cheer on our long-hoped-for reemergence of the white running back in the NFL? A lot of stupid people out there....

if Brian doesn't do well vs Seahawks on Sunday, he will be losing carries to both Minor and Pittman...

from st.louis post dipatch: (Linahan press conference)
* Running back Antonio Pittman could have a bigger offensive role after seeing brief action against the Ravens.

even rotoworld.com agrees, Linehan doesn't use Brian to his full potential... this guy is so dangerous out of the backfield, yet he didn't have a single pass thrown to him today. anotehr reason to have him there on 3rd down is his obvious blocking skills, something that Minor lacks...

"Brian Leonard ran 12 times for 44 yards in a Week 7 loss.

The big disappointment is that Leonard wasn't used on third downs. Travis Minor acted as St. Louis' passing-down specialist and caught five passes for 37 yards. Steven Jackson is expected back in Week 8, so Leonard's role may go back to being minimal against the Browns."

Yeah his versatility is supposed to be his biggest asset. Not having him on 3rd down makes no sense.

I know I might be going out on conspiracy perch a little bit too far with this, but what do you think the chances are that Linehan purposely doesn't want to showcase Leonard's talents now in order to avoid a running back controversy when Jackson comes back?

But then again, he left an ailing Bulger in the game, too, when it was already out of reach. Why not put Frerotte in?

Well when Jackson was starting he was definately utilized more, even though his production or yards per carry were less than Leonard's. Leaves me searching for reasons why Leonard isn't used more.

I have a feeling locker room chemistry has something to do with it. Ive seen first hand what it is like in the locker room when a white guy takes over the starting running back spot. The blacks throw a fit, no matter how good the white back is. Of course this is all behind closed doors. Edited by: mr.wonderfull
