Good lists but I'd like to know their definition of a "drop." Robert Meachem and Jason Avant -- zero drops? Seems to me the percentage of drops is higher than what these two lists would indicate.

Cushing did pass a lie detector test on steroids- and the positive test for HCG was so low that the year before it would have passed under the substance abuse policy guidelines.

If I was forced to take a guess, I'd say Cushing was taking something illegal, but it's far from a "smoking gun" that he's guilty of steroids.

It's probably balls that the receiver doesn't have to reach for or elevate. Obviously it's fairly arbitrary. As for Cushing he is getting killed by the more opinionated players. Did others stars such as Jamal Lewis or Merriman get the same treatment?

I think Cushing is not doing himself any favors by continuing to push this story, issuing vague statements and denials. He's either getting bad advice, or none at all.

If he has absolute proof he did not nothing wrong, then he should keep fighting, clear his name, and move on.

Otherwise, I don't see how this story staying in the press each day does him any good. He's looking worse, not better, and as a result, giving DWFs and others more ammo.

Here is an article that explains a bit about what Texans owner Bob McNair will be presenting to the Commish in an appeal to reduce/rescind Brian's suspension. I personally have never heard of this syndrome, but I suppose it's possible. Of course, Rotoworld says that Cushing has been linked to steroids "since high school", although they don't have a shred of evidence to back that up, just heresay that they themselves made up.

HOUSTON (AP)â€"Suspended Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing(notes) said Monday that his positive test for a fertility drug last year was the result of overtrained athlete syndrome, a "unique"Â￾ condition he contends can trigger hormonal spikes.


Texans owner Bob McNair was in New York on Monday and was expected to cite the syndrome in urging NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to reduce or rescind the four-game suspension. The league denied Cushing's appeal of the suspension in February.


Cushing was suspended for the first four games this season after testing positive last September for HCG, a drug on the league's banned substance list. Cushing says he never took the drug, which can be used to restart testosterone production after a steroid cycle, and has no idea how it got into his body.Cushing disclosed details of the syndrome after Monday morning's practice.


"I think that's the final diagnosis we came up with,"Â￾ he said, "and a lot of doctors have supported why this has happened."Â￾


Cushing said months of tests show that he had a "unique"Â￾ medical condition that led to the positive test.


"Every individual is genetically different,"Â￾ he said. "I had a unique situation where something like this occurred and we have the science to back it up. It's taken months. It's really beyond what we ever thought and it's beyond the regular medical doctor.


"We've gone in depth, and there has been a lot of money spent on the research,"Â￾ he said. "There have been a lot of interesting results that I think can help us."Â￾


Cushing said he could not offer details about what scientific evidence McNair was presenting. Tom Condon, Cushing's agent, did not immediately respond to an e-mail or a phone message left at his office.


NFL spokesman Greg Aiello declined to comment.


Cushing, Houston's first-round draft pick in 2009, had 133 tackles for the team last season to win The Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year award. He retained the award after a revote following his suspension.


McNair has repeatedly said he believes Cushing, while also saying he supports the NFL's drug testing programs.


Cushing said he was told after he failed the test that HCG can get in your body by injection or because of tumors. McNair said on the first day of training camp that the Texans' main concern is for Cushing's health, and McNair said the linebacker has undergone every test the team has asked him take.


"He has cooperated with us 100 percent,"Â￾ McNair said. "We've satisfied ourselves that there are no health issues, and also that there was no evidence at all that he's done anything at all that was not proper."Â￾


Cushing wasn't optimistic that Goodell will reduce his suspension.


"I've got 12 games I've got to get ready for,"Â￾ he said. "Whatever decision is made, I've got to respect the decision of the commissioner.


"I'm staying open-minded today, but I'm not getting my hopes up,"Â￾ he said. "It's been an up-and-down couple of months, where I haven't been really sure what to expect with anything."Â￾


Cushing didn't see any purpose in traveling with McNair to meet with Goodell in person.


"I have to be here for the team right now,"Â￾ he said. "This is out of my hands, with the data and the evidence that we have. There's nothing I'm going to say or prove that's going to help turn anything over."Â￾

Cushing was a tackling machine as a rookie as an outside linebacker, so he'll become an absolute monster if he's moved inside:

The Texans' Brian Cushing will move from the strong side to inside linebacker. Coach Gary Kubiak said of the move, "We want him to lead our defense." With DeMeco Ryans out for the season, the Texans evidently feel the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year is needed more on the inside. The move will likely result in fewer sacks but more tackle opportunities.

Simply a DWF knee-jerk reaction to a superior white athlete. Blacks are "naturally" superior and are allowed swagger, since they are the "men" that the DWFs wish they could be. While athletes like Cushing are always looked upon suspiciously (must be on roids!) as the only way they can compete with the "superior black athlete" is by cheating. Texans players voted ILB Brian Cushing team MVP for the 2011 season.

Although shutdown corner Johnathan Joseph's claim to the MVP is just as strong, Cushing easily led the team with 114 tackles while adding four sacks and two forced fumbles. The Texans allowed 91.2 fewer yards per game this season than last, the third biggest defensive improvement since 1970 merger.
