from a strict franchise management point of view it makes no sense... you sacrifice your season so that you can groom a kid, who by all accounts ain't exactly NFL QB material, mentally at least... trading a good QB for bag of chips makes no sense either...
and if they had their mind set on that why even bring Collins? just to set him up for a failure?

i disliked Titans when i lived in Tennessee, now i hate 'em even more

I think Collins will play about two games, and if they lose both, Young will start. And it won't matter how bad he stinks it up, he will be praised and/or excused. Most of the blame will go to others when they lose. If they win, he'll get the lion's share of the credit. It's all so predictable now, and oh so sickening.
