Bingtian is extremely strong and seems to take a more American-based philosophy to training. I believe he actually trains out of IMG Academy in Florida. There is a video somewhere around of him easily squatting 150kg or so for very explosive reps.

At China's National Games, 24 yr old Xie Zhenye was the surprise winner of the 100m over Bingtin Su, in a time of 10.04.
He also won the 200m in 20.20 which is a new national record.
21-year-old Guo Zhongze won the 400m in a national record of 45.14.

He actually eased up ever so slightly at the line, wonder if he would have gone 9.95 with a dip at the line. The guy in lane 3 got out like a rocket but tired at 80m...great race and great reaction after the race

Yes, he did ease up. A hard dip would have gotten him at least a 9.96.

He is only 21, and this will increase his confidence.

he's been knocking at this door for 3 years - great news for him and the Japanese fans. They already have an awesome 4x100 relay team

Congratulations to Kiryu! He has been fast for a few years now, as posted above. It seems like whites and Asians are getting faster year by year, as the gap between blacks and everyone else seems to be getting smaller. If we can just get our top guys to run about .1-.15 faster consistently, we will be right there!

He has huge legs now, his upper body is still slim but he has powerhouse legs. Hopefully he can have some positive individual results at major meets, the talent is there for him to snag some medals.

Asian sprinters are having a very good year. But it's strange that the Japanese are peaking when the season is basically over.

no pressure and they are basically doing these times at Japanese meets where the audience worships these sprinters ala Julien Rues.

he and Kiryu ran 10.06 and 10.04 on march 11th in Canberra so they seem to have virtually maintained for 6 months

seems those short, powerful limbs with good turnover are the Asian strengths. That, and their work ethic/team ethic


Su Bingtian ran a eye popping 6.43 today for the world lead. Damn can this kid flat out explode out of the blocks. If he has
even average speed endurance and holds his form he is heading for a sub 9.90's time for sure. Wow he is fast!

he's 45cms away from Mo Green's official WR. Who knows what will happen!
But, WL, considering his 2 years at legal 9.99s have come with 60 metres times over 6.50 it looks like even with the same last 40 metres he'll be low 9.90s. I'm thinking though he'll finish more strongly judging by the Duesseldorf last 10-15 m.
I'm going for almost immediate high 9.8s if he stays healthy.

We could have a thread where we guess a list of our favourites' performances outdoors this year

A big upset and a great performance at the London Diamond League meet today:
Xie Zhenye of China won the 200m in an Asian Record time of 19.88.

I love it. Way to go Xie Zhenye. It goes to show that what Europe is doing by bringing in athletes from outside thier countries to compete in track or other sports is unnecessary. I doubt they
will ever learn. The asian, blacks and latinos do not mix their teams with whites. Why do whites always do it to their national teams? It's call stereotypes. It's b.s. if you ask me.

WOW!! To run like that from lane 8. Did you see the brothers after the race? They didn't know what hit them. First Asian through 20.00 and he obliterated it. Amazing all around. This has been a great track weekend.

And a Chinese guy won the 110 hurdles too (Wenjun XIE). What kind of training are those guys doing? They don't look jacked, just slight little guys.
