This is a tournament so a rematch is likely to happen at some point and I'm sure Abraham will legitimately KO Dirrell and Kessler will win in his rematch with Ward.

I hope you are right JReb. At least Abraham didn't lose a belt because he went up in weight.

Abrahmam has a too patient style for me. He gives away too many rounds that he could win if he just put some punches together. Whenever he hit Direll with combos or single shots Direll felt them. I think the referee had his hand tied when Abraham committed the foul. There was nothing he could do but end the fight as Direll was legitimately ko'd. I too thought he was faking it or playing up the foul as he seemed to be wilting over the last few rounds. But his lack of mental focus after the dq made it more obvious that he wasn't faking(to me). To me Luis Santana seemed more of wrestling act (against Terry Norris)than this did. If they ever fight a rematch if Abraham gets started earlier he should ko Direll or beat him on a wide points decision as his power and strength are too much for runner type.
Legitimately KO'd?  Really?  Is that what you saw?  When someone get's Ko'd they go straight down and not touch their face, look at the ref for a second or two and then put on an act.  I think the media got to you already.
No what I meant was a boxing definition of a ko. He was clearly not KTFO. In my mind he couldn't beat a 10 count at that point. No the media never gets to me. I have an independent brain from the mainstream media. I just have 27 years of hard core following of boxing(since roughly Holmes vs Cooney). Edited by: white is right

Even if he didn't commit the foul, Abraham still would've lost. He was way behind on points. A miraculous KO/TKO was needed and it just never came.

I can only hope Abraham mentally recovers from this disappointing performance and loss.

Another factor I think that contributed to Abraham's loss is his inexperience of fighting on US soil. While he did fight in the US before, it ain't much compared to someone named Manny Pacquiao.

Fighting in the US can give jitters to a foreign fighter like Abraham, as well as the bias of the US ring judges.

J41181, Abraham is a much different fighter than Dirrell. Abraham wins his fights with solid defense and power. He throws his punches very sparingly. He waited too long to implement his game plan in this fight.

Assuming Abraham did not commit a foul he won the fight by either a KO if Dirrell was knocked out or a TKO if was not Knocked out he chose to stay down in which case he would be counted out. Of course if the foul did occur he lost by DQ.

This should be a good one. I was leaning towards Froch but now I am favoring Abraham. Froch was a pound lighter than he usually is for weigh-ins (166.5 while he is usually 167.5). I know it is a small thing but whenever I see a fighter come in lighter than usual he losses.

Abraham really doesn't look like a SMW. If he worked with a dietician he could probably still be fighting at MW.

5-0 Froch.

Froch keeping Abraham at range and not letting him got his shots off. Froch's jab is the key punch so far. Abraham is getting frustrated. He can't get in range and is reduced to throwing wild shots.

Froch's girlfriend is really obnoxious. Someone please shut her up.

Froch battered Abraham. I think Froch won every round.

Abraham landed a couple of good rights in the 12th but it wasn't enough.

The judgess score it 120 -108, 120-108 and 119-109 for Froch.

UD for Froch.

Scorecards were 120-108 twice, and 119-109.

It was easily the best performance I've ever seen from Carl Froch.

Frochy wins a relative easy UD. Next fight is Ward, if Ward gets past Bika which is not a given contrary to popular belief.

King Aurthur needs to go back down to MW. Not big enough, or fast enough at 168 lbs.

My prediction of Froch or Abraham is still on track. I think Frochy is peaking at the right time. I think Froch has the attributes to own Ward. He has power, chin, slickiness, boxing ability and will to give Ward his first loss.

I'm glad Carl won. I've never been a big Abraham fan. I do root for him from a caste perspective but I absolutely loathe his style.

He does have maddening style if you are his trainer or have bet riding on him. It seems that now that he is fighting larger men he can't impose his strength advantage on these guys like he did at 160. One problem for him is he moved up because he could no longer safely make 160. He might be in a real catch 22 situation.

Semi-final matchups:

Carl Froch vs. Glen Johnson

Should be a dandy. Glen "The Road Warrior" Johnson is one of the few black fighters I actually kinda like.

Arthur Abraham vs. Andre Ward

Froch should get some consideration for top 10 p4p as he has now beaten Pascal, Dirrell, Abraham and Taylor. His only loss against Kessler could have gone either way.

If Frochy were black he would be hailed as the next big thing in boxing.

Liverlips, Frochy is going to beat the "Road Warrior" Glen Johnson.

I agree Parody, I like Glen, he fights and conducts himself as a true professional. The way blacks used to back in the 60s and 70s. But Frock is on a mission and I can't believe Glen who is a marvel at 41 years old will have a chance.
