Army vs Temple - Army is White friendly as they come. Temple not so much. RB/WR Zach Mundell has emerged early as the Black Knights most explosive playmaker so far. Also would like to see QB Cale Hellums rack up some more rushing yards.
Howard vs Rutgers - Rutgers played USC well last week, I guess Lonergan missed the BC game due to injury. While he did throw 2 INTs he also led Rutgers to 35 points against USC (exposing their fraudulent defense). Not sure what Mikey Munn's status is. Check out the stat line for this game but don't bother tuning in.
Northwestern vs Indiana - Northwestern is still White friendly but can't get behind them with Chip Kelly and his NIL QB. Indiana has been dominant through three games, the Wildcats should pose a challenge and will give a better idea of where the Hoosiers stand. Their defense has been great, Josh Hoover has been very good and mistake free with Charlie Becker a breakout star. Both teams have very good and White defenses. For Northwestern DB Robert Fitzgerald is a tackling machine and DL Michael Kilbane's play has been gaining notoriety with the stat heads. The Wildcats defense anchored by several White athletes limited Colorado to one TD.
Clemson vs California - Clemson is at 2-1 right now, QB Tait Reynolds got his first win as a starter last week and played pretty well. The running game is still lacking. The defense was able to get pressure on Billy Edwards and Will Heldt was an impact player on defense. Clemson's best most realistic good season this year is going 8-4. Reynolds development will be key.
Saturday
Texas vs Tennessee - Really not much of interest here outside of Manning if we are being honest. Monitoring the defense or lack thereof for SEC teams will be something I watch for the rest of the season.
Illinois vs Ohio St - The Illini should put up a bit of a challenge, not expecting a blow out here but OSU should win this one. RB Laughery and WR Clement can perhaps make a name for themselves against Ohio St who need as many style points as possible after collapsing against Texas two weeks ago. Sayin put up great numbers last week and remains elite in the sport.
Sam Houston vs Texas Tech - This shouldn't be close. Hammond looks like he is getting better every week at the QB position and their three LBs Roberts, Romaine and Curry are all playing well for a good Red Raiders defense. Trick also tallied his first sack last week. Should be a stat padding type game for the Red Raiders. Would be nice to see Coy Eakin more involved in the passing game, he made some clutch catches against Houston last week.
Wake Forest vs Louisville - Wake Forest surprisingly has some contributors on defense, it's too bad Louisville does not because QB Lincoln Kienholz has been stellar so far this season. Predictably under the radar at this point but he has been fun to watch so far.
Colorado vs Baylor - A caste matchup especially if Bennett plays QB this week for the Bears. He was near perfect in last week's win vs La Tech. Freeman and Pendergrass both are contributing heavily on the offensive side of the ball. For Colorado WR Danny Scudero has been MIA, apparently he is injured. The curse of the transfer portal White WRs continues.
Bucknell vs Pitt - Bucknell has some White athletes including a 1-2 punch at RB. For Pitt Mason Heintschel he needs to get back on track after two less than impressive performances.
Va Tech vs Boston College - QB Ethan Grunkenmeyer has been outstanding so far this season and developed a strong rapport with TE Luke Reynolds who is emerging as one of the better TEs in the country. BC is probably outmatched in this one after struggling against FCS Maine last week. LB Anthony Palano is an early impact LB. QB Mason McKenzie hasn't been great, would be curious if O'Brien decides to go to Grayson Wilson.
SDSU vs Toledo - The Rockets had probably the most entertaining come back victory last week. John Alan Richter is resembling the MAC QBs of yesteryear and RB Walendzak has 6 TDs already this season. Certainly a team to look out for. The Aztecs don't have anything of interest at all to root for.
UNLV vs Akron - Going for the Rebels in this one. Grayson Arnold has an outside shot at a 1k rushing yard season and the Rebels have some key players on defense to make them interesting. No word on if fans are going to be playcalling any drives for the Zips and their 5'9 170 QB from Florida. Their backup QB, the 6'4 205lb Brayden Roggow should be starting but it's Akron and they have been terrible for years.
Notre Dame vs Purdue - The Irish are palatable enough for a top 5 team, Carr remains the most consistent and steady QB in the country and Luke Talich was all over the field last week against Michigan St. Safe to say he will be a contributor in the secondary. Bowen remains a tackling machine. Ryan Browne, the Boilermakers QB is 5th in the nation in passing and greatly improved from last year, it's too bad the defense cannot help him out.
Oklahoma vs Georgia - Sooners will need to address their running game deficiencies against the Bulldogs who are one of the few good SEC defenses. The outcome of this game will lead to some changes if the Sooners end up losing. Mateer needs to be used correctly and start playing at a higher level, he has disappointed as has the Sooners offense. The defense has kept Oklahoma in games this year. For UGA nothing worthwhile outside of the great play of QB Gunner Stockton (if he were black he would be getting a lot more press) unless WR London Humphreys gets a few passes thrown his way.
Ole Miss vs Florida - Ole Miss has an elite LB in Luke Ferelli but nothing else. Florida has played well this year offensively and Aaron Philo has been solid as a starter. WR Bailey Stockton has been involved somewhat for the Gators as well. Both teams are big question marks on defense. Rooting against Ole Miss every game.
Utah vs Iowa St - RB Aiden Flora with another tough defense to run against after the Hawkeyes two weeks ago. A big game here might gain him some notoriety. Jackson Benee has yet to make any game breaking plays this year, hopefully that changes this weekend. Baden Pegan has been a nice surprise this season, a transfer portal WR that has worked out. Isaac Terrell has been MIA since his week one debut with 3 sacks.
Iowa vs Michigan - A good Big Ten matchup. Curious to see how Hank Brown plays after being very good the first three weeks of the season. Would like to see Vander Zee and Vonnahme (if healthy) more involved in the offense. A Zach Lutmer INT of Michigan's mook QB would be great too. John Henry Daley seems healthy and will be a problem for the Hawkeyes offense. It will be a good measuring stick for both teams but as always rooting for the Hawkeyes.
New Mexico vs New Mexico St - Could be an entertaining game. New Mexico held Oklahoma to 14 points last week, their issue is the QB rotation and Eck seems to favor the scattershot poly over Luke Moga despite Moga being the more capable passer. 4 of the 5 top tacklers for the Lobos are gym rats. New Mexico State almost pulled off an upset of FSU in Week 1, their QB Trey Hedden has been good after transferring up from FCS Furman.
Houston vs Ga Southern - Will Trent Walker ever get involved in the offense? If not, I hope Chance Gamble has a big game.
Vanderbilt vs Auburn - True Freshman QB Jared Curtis played decent in his first start. It was of course the very stupid play of the NC State QB that lost the game but Vandy is 3-0 going up against a defensively challenged Auburn team. LB Nick Rinaldi has been playing very well, already matched his sack total from last year. For the Tigers DL Cody Sigler has been as advertised and should be elevating his draft stock. Despite one pale face on each defense, the two units have given up some points this year.
Wisconsin vs Penn St - PSU has gotten off to a strong start but it seems Carson Hansen is slipping down the depth chart as PSU is employing a comitte at the position rather then giving Hansen the deserved bellcow status. Becht has been playng the QB position like a steady veteran, PSU will be down a WGA WR so hopefully Eskildsen benefits and sees more targets. For the Badgers QB Colton Joseph had a good game last week, would like to see him play well again. Posa, Jung and Catalano all quality defensive players for the Badgers as well.
Nebraska vs Michigan St - The Spartans played Notre Dame tough although they lost. They played like a Pat Fitzgerald coached team. Would like to see them hand the Cornhuskers their first loss of the season. DL Eli Coenen has 3 sacks so far for Sparty.
Delaware vs UVA - UVA exposed me as a fraud last week. I thought they were going to play better than they did and they disappointed. WVU beat UVA at their own game. Delaware is sleeper team and this game might be closer than expected.
Oklahoma St vs West Virginia - Let's hope that the Oregon game Mestemaker shows up and the Oklahoma St defense plays well. Wyatt Young wasn't a factor last week in the Cowboys blowout win so hopefully he gets back on track.
Texas A&M vs LSU - Another two teams with porous defenses. LSU disappointed last week and their offense makes zero sense scheme wise, it's just Leavitt running around or making bad throws in the middle of the field. I believe Leavitt still has one more year of eligibility but his early season draft stock is trending down and we need as many White QBs playing well as possible, especially at high profile schools. Still rooting for them over the even darker Aggies.
Oregon St vs UTEP - Hopefully Braden Atkinson takes over as the leading passer in college football this week. He's over 1k yards in three games so far.
Minnesota vs Washington - Gophers need a conference win. A decent number of White defenders for both teams including standout DBs John Nestor and Alex McLaughlin (should be early season leader for the Thorpe award).
