2026 CFL season

The CFL regular season kicks off this weekend. While far too dark, we do have some talents in the league. AJ Oulette put together an outstanding season, capped with a Grey Cup win, and looks to repeat his rushing dominance. Assuming he stays healthy, he will cross 1000 yards again.

Zander Horvath is someone to watch. He put up good stats in very limited opportunities. But he is clearly one of the most talented backs.

Horvath needs more carries, he is a game changer in the CFL. Nathan Rourke at QB is a good watch as well.

Quick look at some of the most notable CFL players at Caste Positions -- RB, WR and Defense. It's not pretty. Could be 3 legit White RB's, which is noteworthy? .... WR position is a bit down from recent years, as the CFL usually has a better stash of White WR's from the U.S. .... While the picture isn't really pretty, it's better than the current, bleak U.S spring league, which is basically all black and playing to mostly empty, significantly scaled-down (seating capacity), U.S. soccer stadiums.

CFL lost their top, young rising-star from 2025: Devin Veresuk, a native of Ontario, who jumped to the Colts this spring. As I noted in this early April CF post, I believe he made a mistake jumping to the NFL way too soon.

Should've gone the Alex Singleton route, who played three years up North and really created a great demand for himself. Veresuk only received a $10,000 signing bonus/$10,000 guarantee, despite working out with 6 NFL teams. Had he stayed a bit more, might've created a much greater buzz for his unique talents. NFL practice squads do pay much better than 18 game CFL seasons, in most cases. That said, in the bigger picture, he might've made a mistake, as the Colts, for example, handed a White undrafted rookie (Weeks) linebacker close to a $300,000 guarantee.

Yes, Leo, as I noted, it is "better" than the current, crappy U.S. spring league. Probably similar to the NFL, when you remove the "National" players, who are mostly seldom used role players. Very few White stars (overall) in the CFL; compared to the NFL (which has a lot), however.

The jeets have not made an impact on the field, as I don't recognize any on current rosters. But mandates could be coming down the line.... they are much more prevalent in media and broadcasting circles (i.e. ESPN types) and on medical and training staffs. Whites still "appear" to make up the majority of "National" players (Canadians), but not by a significant amount. Black are much more likely to be "imports" (Americans).

What you do see, is a significant number of African/Haitian types on CFL rosters that are marked as "Nationals". They were brought into Canada by the millions over the years by the (((Usual suspects))) to replace White Canadians and turn it into a 3rd world dump. Most have Nigerian surnames and a lot where insignificant backups at U.S. colleges, but good enough to qualify as CFL "Nationals"

Also, quite a few mulatto's. I assume a fair percentage of these are sons of pride-less, negro CFL players that mixed with local white "womenz" back in the 1990's. Even the Vegas Golden Knights (NHL) have one these. NHL players Ryan Reaves (<link) and Darnell Nurse also fit this mold -- sons of race mixing American negro's that played in the CFL and stayed up North.

Canadian Nationals that have any kind of success at U.S. colleges, are more likely to succeed, i.e. this ex-New Hampshire Wildcat.

Number 1 overall pick in the 2026 CFL Draft spent only one year in the U.S. as a backup guard at Purdue. So the CFL draft is not exactly brimming with superstars!

CFL teams are also required to carry "Global" players on their active rosters. Most Whites are punters (Australian, usually) and kickers. Here's a fascinating White DT from Belgium, who will likely never get an NFL sniff.
