2025 Track Results

In the NCAA Division 3 National Championships we will see Sam Blaskowski trying to go for his first sub 10! I would also like to see him
break his 200 meters personal best. The 200 meters is the first indivdual event he will compete in. Good luck and I hope he brings home
3 gold medals in the 100, 200 and 4 x 100 Relay!
 
So excited to see the European Track Season starting to kick off as we head into summer. Italy had a meet yesterday. Italian Sprinter
Lorenzo Patta opened up with a wind legal 10.17 which is close to his personal best. Samuel Ceccarelli finished in a time of 10.26
which while not great is a step in the right direction. Still not holding my breath with this guy.

In Poland tommorow we have the first big Polish Track Meet. In the mens 100 meters Dominic Kopek, Marek Zakrzewski and Oliwer Wdowik
are all lining up in the first 100 meters races of the year. We will see how the off season was and what kind of base they can build on.

In addition to winning the 100m in an NCAA leading time of 11.05; she also won the 200m in 22.51 (2.8w)
In the heats she ran a wind legal 23.04 (1.2w).
In the video she says this was only her 3rd 200m since she was a sophomore in high school!

She is sweet and petite. Reminds in that sense of Mary Beth Sant Price. Pocket Rockets!

 
If she continues to improve and keep herself focused on the track and off the track sub 11 is just around the corner..... she does have a similar sprint form to MBS. Longish legs on a smaller body helps as well.

Sam Blaskowski won both the 100 and 200 meters in the Nat'l Championships. He ran wind legal times of 10.14 & 20.35!
 
Swedish Sprinter Henrik Larsson opened up his season with a fast 10.20 -0.3 wind. He has been sub 10.10 in the past. Will this be the year that he finally goes sub 10? Let's hope so as this man is so talented and fun to watch! He looks like Thor the Super Hero but with shorter hair.
 
These are all great times but in reality, I don’t see any white guys going sub 10 right now. The current crop can run10.0x’s but can’t seem to break through that. I know this is a pessimistic view but any time a guy breaks 10 seconds he usually has multiple runs below 10.05 and we just haven’t seen that yet out of anyone. Hopefully it’s a great summer, but I don’t expect anything. I also don’t really think another 9.98 does anything for the cause. To start changing minds, multiple guys have to run below 9.9 and eventually one to hit 9.7x. I don’t think blacks are more athletic or stronger at all, but they a quarter of a second ahead of whites in sprints when comparing the fastest of each race. Whites have become dominant forces in boxing and basketball, now it’s up to the sprinters to do their thing.

Obviously nothing is a lock until it happens but the Australian sprinter Kennedy should break ten and if he chased a sub 10 by going to South Africa at their high altitude meets would have done it earlier this year.

I tend to agree a high 9.9X might get track "geeks" talking but the common guy on the street will only take notice if Kennedy or another short sprinter makes world/Olympic outdoor finals and medals or at least places highly in the final and is fairly young.

Rightly or wrongly the 100m champion is similar to the heavyweight champion in boxing and soaks up the lions share of the glory in track and field.

I have no doubt in my mind that Lachlan Kennedy will run in the 9.80's within 3 to 5 years! Lachalen Kennedy had the fastest 60 meters in the world during the indoor season. He also finished with the silver medal at the 2025 World Indoor Championships in the 60 meters. A race which he led the majority of it but he didn't lean & lost by 1/100th of a second. Still no shame in being the 2nd fastest man indoors in the world and losing by an eye lash. Give this kid time. He has only been running track for around 3 or 4 years now.

Femke Bol looking relaxed and very powerful and graceful........dominates. 400mh 52.46 whilst running smoothly and not full out.

 
Asian Championships are happening in Korea.
Yanagita of Japan, nipped Boonson of Thailand, to take the 100 meters title.
Both clocked 10.19 (0.6w).

It seems odd to me that the Chinese didn’t even medal in the 100. They had some big guns a few years ago when Bingtian Su was in his prime, but I guess they have fallen off since then.

Maybe at this level but if you know anything about SARMS and the labs where it was manufactured without impunity I suspect most of their sprinters were on it.

Similar to Fentanyl the Chinese government looked the other way while clandestine lab operators made a collective billions for the narcotic and millions for the PED.
 
Victoria Cameron won her heat at the NCAA West Regionals, with a time of 11.07. She also qualified in the 200m with a time of 23.19.
Holly Duax of Iowa, won her heat in 23.18.
Savannah Sutherland of Michigan (and Canada) won her 400m hurdles heat at the East Regionals with the fastest time of the day, 55.07.
And for some strange reason, Duke had Braelyn Baker running the 400m hurdles, instead of her best events, the 200m and 400m.
She did qualify for the semi-finals, but is unlikely to make the finals.
Sami Oblad of BYU won her 400m heat in West Regionals, with a great time of 50.96.

That would make sense because they have always been a 10.15 nation with the occasional guy going 10.0x. But Bingtian Su kind of burst on the scene along with the other guy whose name escapes me right now. Su ended up running that 9.83 and the other guy ran a 9.97. But their sub 10 journeys were very short and it seems like China is right back to where it was before these two.
 
On a side note in regards to Su: I have traveled to China many times and he is not well known or regarded by Chinese people, they are obsessed with basketball and black basketball players from the USA, even their local teams have scrub blacks playing in the leagues that are worshiped by young kids...sad to see. Track is way down on the popularity list even after hosting the Olympic games...
 
Victoria Cameron is impressive at such a young age. Savanna Sutherland is going to be a force. I also wonder why Baker is not focusing on the 200/400m, makes no sense. Oblad's 400m time is very very good, possible sub 50 next.

The Philippines is the same way. It's ironic that you can travel through an entire province in the Philippines and the tallest guy you will see is maybe 6'2 at the most. Yet, they are obsessed with basketball. I kind of feel bad for them when I travel there as I don't believe a Filipino has ever even made it to the NBA. I think they've had a few guys playing NCAA div 1 but that's about it. I will say that a lot of the kids seem to be into soccer and like all the players like Ronaldo and Messi. Probably a much better sport to aspire to for a nation with an average height of 5'6-5'7.
 
Chance Cross ran a 10.09 (-0.2) and Brody Buffington 10.15 (-0.2) to both qualify for the next round in the NCAA East.
 
Brody Buffington ran 10.15 and 20.32 in quarterfinals of the NCAA East Regional.
He moves on in the 200m, but was eliminated in 100m.
Kalen Walker ran a legal 9.94 at the West Regional.
