I agree. That's what killed Shirvington .... every race going in with expectations of a sub 10 just made him a tighter runner. It's mostly the Australian press that causes it. If we had a few sub 10ers around they might cease burdening young male sprinters with their own expectationsWow!! And Lachlan is only 21 years old! Can hardly wait for his next race. He needs to just forget about all that 10 second barrier stuff and just run relaxed.
and Sultana's 19. I feel confident we have enough depth to go sub 38 in international 4 x 100 relays now.Wow!! And Lachlan is only 21 years old! Can hardly wait for his next race. He needs to just forget about all that 10 second barrier stuff and just run relaxed.
and he's around 27 I believe so been around for some time - a good example to young athletes who are disenchanted when the first few years in Open Age make them either more tough or make them give up. I hope Jack Hale is rewarded this year for his patience in enduring a tough 2 to 3 yearsLiam Adock's long jump (8.33m) is a big one!
He can be a global medalist with a jump like that.
that's a top indoor time. Is he a good body type for outdoor in your opinion? Will Floyd of Canada (he's also listed as Tyler Floyd), came 2nd in the 400m at the SEC Indoor Championships. (There were 4 white participants in the final!). His time was 45.24, one of the fastest of the year.
As a reminder, he won the 400m at Pan Am U20 Championships in 2023, and won the bronze at the World U20 Championships.
He looks ready to go sub-45 come the outdoor season.
I was looking today for information about him on google for this year - NOTHING! and he has no race results recorded at all. If he does compete he'll certainly have his work cut out for him with our new keen youngsters. The Sydney track challenge is on Saturday 15th - I'd better check the start lists ......Thanks for all of the updates mastermulti.
Is Rohan Browning still going to run outdoors? I would guess yes as I haven't heard him announce his retirement yet. Hope so.
good to hear - what we'd say is the body type required for 400m.Tyler Floyd Canada is about 6'1 or 6'2" he is a very good 400m runner. He is muscular but lanky at the same time with a long stride, perfect for 400m's. He is most definitely someone to watch this outdoor season.
great information. So he's already exceptionally good - and we can hope for more to comeAccording to the University of Georgia Track and Field website, Floyd is 6' 3" and 20 years old.
He passed Matthew Boling on the Univ. of Georgia all-time indoor list with his 45.24.
Boling's best indoor time was 45.51.
