San Fran is frustrating. McCaffrey with nowhere to run, Shanahan’s insistence on running him into a wall of defenders and Purdy is struggling mightily.
 
Just awful play by Bryce Young! He has somehow managed to have a lower passer rating this half than a guy that threw 3 INTs.

i was just about to say something similar. also, Young looks so little out there, yet i’ve not heard a single comment about that physical limitation. yet, Christian McCaffrey is STILL being talked about as “not the biggest guy,” despite being 5-foot-11, 210-pounds.

Young is generously listed at 5-foot-10, 204-pounds.

Especially considering QBs are typically much larger than running backs. 5’10” and 215 lbs is about the average size. CMC is right there.

The average QB is around 6’2” and 225 lbs.

The criticism from the scouts, media and fans usually doesn't apply to the magical athletes. What a joke!
 
there doesn’t appear to be a single White athlete “good enough” to play defense for either of these two teams (minus one play where the 49ers mistakenly let a White man step on the field near the end zone).
 
McCaffrey showed some nice burst on that touchdown run, after he finally had some daylight to run into.

Sadly with B. Arnold Traitor Leaders all around the western world it's just a matter of time until our countries look like the game we are

Glad to see Cmac healthy and running strong. He has alot of carries and receptions yet is handling the heavy load with ease. Now if
we could just get some better blocking for McCaffrey!

He is answering any lingering questions about his ability to be a bell-cow, up the gut runner.

Yep, that’s first round bust, Xavier Leggette. Fellow first round bust, Jerry Jeudy fumbled Sunday after inexplicably taunting the defense before being caught from behind.
 
A win's a win, but that was an ugly one. Two QBs struggled tonight, the very last pick of the 2022 draft and the very first pick of the 2023 draft. That's not apples to apples, though the media will try to spin it as such. A #1 pick should always be held to a higher standard, especially when compared to a Mr. Irrelevant.
 
Not only was Young a #1 overall pick, but in my opinion, he was a "historic" #1 overall pick.

I don't think, in any big league sport, has a team ever yielded consecutive #1 overall picks for one player? Young was #1 overall in 2023, but Carolina had to send a boat load of picks to move up just a few spots to select him. Part of the price for Young wound up being the #1 overall pick in 2024. That's because he was so rancid as a rookie quarterback in 2023 that Carolina went 2-15.

The hype was insane, with Mel Kosher Jr.** declaring Young the "Steph Curry" of football! So why not give up consecutive #1 overall's for a talent so special? Mel is the same clown that declared Shadeur Sanders as the #2 or #3 overall prospect in last spring's draft, behind "generational talent" Cam Ward :sisigay:

As far as the 49ers, Purdy came at a very "reasonable" price. Last pick in the draft. And never forget what he did that for that franchise, even if he never plays another down: He "bailed out" the trust fund clown that owns the team and the GM (Lynch) who traded/frittered away 4 or 5 top picks to move up to 3rd overall for another one of Mel's "generational talents", Trey Lance. It's well known that HC Kyle Shanahan, coveted Mac Jones, but was forced to go with Lance.

By the way, two of the players selected with the "Lance picks" were OLB Micah Parsons and underrated, New Orleans run-stuffing DT Brian Breesee. Think the team couldn't have used that defensive pair the last couple years and going forward?

I would like to know why Shiply is not getting more reps at RB. Barkley is having a subpar year. I know some of it is the o-line, but Shipley only had 7 offensive touches out of 58. He had a decent game returning kickoffs, where he got hurt to start the season.

You are correct, Booth. This was a term weirdo Howard Stern used to use, from time to time. It's probably the equivalent of Italian's referring to each other as "paisano".

I use Lonsman frequently on this site, as I know over-using the "J" word too much, is somewhat frowned upon (which is fine) -- ergo I use the, seemingly, more benign term "Lonsman" more often.

Back to the topic, Carolina yielding two #1 overall's for Bryce Young might eventually go down as the worst draft decision ever?

Although, the great Mike Ditka, in a brief moment of insanity, giving away his entire 1999 draft class (plus more future picks) for social misfit /drug addict/all-around weirdo Ricky Williams might be hard to beat, as the worst draft decision ever!
