2025 NFL Week 12

Colts blow it. Disappointing.
The Colts only targeted their best receiver Pierce 2 times in a game that went to OT. This is criminally stupid. They deserve for that reason alone. Get your best player(s) involved. That’s what good teams do.

I have to weigh in on McCarthy. He’s been bad. I’d probably give him 1 more game and bench him at the half if he can’t move the offense.

I will however push back that he’s been the worst rookie. Cam Ward has been worse. Before this week, he hasn’t generated any offense or wins for Tennessee. In my fantasy league, McCarthy had more points coming into this week than Ward. The big kicker, Ward had 10 starts this year and JJ only had 5!!! Has anyone in the media called for Ward to be benched?
I don't know if there's been calls for Ward to be benched, probably not, but the big difference is that McCarthy is on a very talented team with White players we like on both sides of the ball along with a snowplow o-line. And along with San Fran, J. J. is on the best franchise he can be on to be developed, and even with all that he's clearly not ready yet.

To me, seeing the Vikings make the playoffs and maybe get to the Super Bowl with a notably relatively White friendly team is more important than giving a quarterback no matter his color a too long leash that drags down a talented team. McCarthy could end up similar to Zach Wilson, or maybe he's another Sam Darnold who blossomed in the right situation. But McCarthy is already in an optimal situation. This season's most likely lost now anyway so I see nothing wrong at all with seeing how Brosmer can do for a few games while J. J. continues to learn.

McCarthy has been a disappointment, sadly. The good news is that several of our young guys at QB have very bright futures. Nix, Dart, Maye...None of them got a lot of respect from the usual talking heads. Nix was especially attacked as a "future bust," and none of the self-proclaimed jock-sniffing "experts" has ever admitted they were wrong about him. They did the same thing to Justin Herbert a few years back. Never admitting they were wrong about a guy and if he turns out to be really good, pretending they believed in him all along. Very Orwellian. Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.

Happy for Sills. Him and Kumerow should have been 5-7 year starters. At the very least Number 3/4 WRs.. Not clinging for a roster spot for years and years of racial apprenticeships..

I’m totally fine with all that. Like I said, I probably would bench him too at some point soon. Just pointing out the double standard the media will almost certainly have with JJ vs Ward. Both have been really bad rookies (I count JJ as he basically injury redshirted).
The big difference as I see it is that the Titians had low expectations for the season where as the Vikings expected to compete. It was a mistake to let Darnold go and to then not sign Rodgers are a bridge QB.

The irony of all these black militants with shedeur derangement syndrome claiming the NFL was colluding to keep Sanders from being a high draft pick with an instant opportunity to start because the league is racist while facing off against Geno Smith with his boomer, moronic head coach coddling him like a puppy is not lost on me.

Put Pickett in already.

The Will Shipley situation reminds me of back when Toby Gerhart was with the Vikings. I really wish Shipley was on another team as they
don't use him much. He is far too talented to sit on the bench most of the time!

That Daniel Jones guy was OBVIOUSLY the problem with the NY Giants ;) . Funny thing, the Chiefs went into this game as 3 point favorites. Clown world. We won't have sports betting here in MO until December 1, but this would be a slam-dunk win.
Oops. That didn't age well.

Happens to all of us at one time or another. :sisi1

A full third of them are black, as I pointed out last week. There's also a sprinkling of White females. How many are qualified and how many are DEI/Caste System hires? My guess is most of them are not qualified or competent.
Amen. And a amen again. And the bean counters know it. But they will never admit it.

Geno has taken 7 sacks already. Cam Thomas had one at least. If Boomer Pete and Geno can’t beat the Sanders lead Browns at home, who can they beat? This is getting embarrassing. I’d fire the old Crypt-Keeper at seasons end.

It’s funny too because Smith is a 35 year old 13 year veteran. Playing awful but somehow wigger pete still thinks he has “upside” despite their being 13 years of actual tape to show what Smith is. Smith’s bum ass needs to be out of the league next year and Carroll needs to be fired.

Against a good Seattle defense today Ward went 28 of 42 for 256 yards with a passing TD and a rushing TD. And he's on the worst team in the league. Maybe some or a lot of it was in garbage time but that's about a month's worth of output for McCarthy, who did absolutely nothing in garbage time today. They had 4 yards of offense in the second half of a game they were trailing.

I don't see it as a double standard if a White QB is hurting a very talented team. It's not always purely racial considerations, just looking at it as objectively as I can, McCarthy is single-handedly dragging down a very good team that is always at or near the top when it comes to relative White friendliness. I'd have the exact same position if he was black and I bet everyone else here would as well. It's about doing what's best for the team and I have a lot of respect for Kevin O'Connell as a coach and for his ability to improve quarterbacks.

It's possible J. J. may eventually justify his draft position and it's possible he won't but so far, when he hasn't been injured which has been quite a bit, he's been bad, a lot worse than any of us expected. There's been a lot of White QBs drafted early over the years who didn't meet expectations. And if McCarthy doesn't, that's more than offset by Nix, Maye and Dart along with vets like Daniel Jones, Baker Mayfield, Darnold and even Davis Mills among others this season. I couldn't be happier for their success.

Don't forget Mac Jones ;)

Don't want to turn this into a McCarthy thread. I just think he needs more time, the Vikings did a bad job with the QB room once Darnold and Jones left in the offseason. It's a shame Wentz ended up injured because I was hoping he would be able to starts more this season. That said the Vikings could have pursued Rodgers, Tannehill (just saw he confirmed his retirement last week), made a play for Cousins, traded for Tanner McKee, traded for Pickett or Aiden O'Connell, resigned Case Keenum as a free agent etc. It will be interesting to see how McCarthy unfolds - did the front office and O'Connell see enough in the offseason to be confident in McCarthy and are willing to let him take his lumps to come out on the other side as a better player.

McCarthy threw 713 passes in college. He admittedly played on a run heavy offense at Michigan and really just made timely plays. Cam Ward threw 2,329 passes during his college career. Their is a lot of disparity between the two. Live reps are necessary for development. Just hope he is able to put it all together.
