LOL! Unless he had an injury, that defensive sumo is incredibly weak. Must have all his weight in his stomach and rear-end as his upper body strength is a zero for a man that size.

In my lifting prime around 30 years young, I would bench 12-15 reps max at 6’-1” and 220 lbs. And I wasn’t an athlete who had ample time to work on this. Just a guy with a 9 to 5 who would hit the gym like 3 days a week after work.
 
Anyone remember the db from Mississippi State that Washington selected in the 2nd round in 2001, Fred Smoot? He could only do one bench press, lol, as Earth's weakest man.
 
I can't find out why Skattebo didn't go to his pro-day combine. His coach gave some kind of a rambling excuse. Has anyone heard if he is injured?

I mentioned earlier that Chism ran a 4.71 but it this report has him in the 4.6s.

Another bit of information that was interesting: "Trapilo, who just did position drills Monday, is another example. His arm length at the Senior Bowl was 33 1/2 inches, while the combine mark was an even 33 inches. The overall feeling is the measurements in Indianapolis were shorter than they should've been."

The article also mentions BC guard Drew Kendall and the inconsistencies in arm measurement - at the shrine game his arms measured 32 3/8 and the combine 31 3/4 inches.

How is that mistake made? Seems purposeful especially with the last several draft cycles seeing an ever increasing importance on arm length.

It also makes one wonder how Jalen Milroe who had 8 3/4 inch hands at the Senior Bowl magically had them measure 9 3/8 inches at the combine.

Might be something to all of this.
 
Texas held it's pro day today. Quinn Ewers seems to have had a solid workout, sounds like there were a few ducks he threw at the end of the session. Won't hold it against him though. When healthy during his Texas career he certainly lived up to his billing. He like all QBs coming into the league has things to work on but I'd of course use a 1st round pick. Not much separates him from the two media anointed best QBs in this year's draft. The Texas offensive playcalling was a bit suspect at times which impacted Ewers to an extent. His game against Michigan this year was dominant, he beat Alabama last season and Texas would have beat them in 2022 if Ewers was not injured. A year after seeing 6 QBs go in the first round the fact the "experts" don't believe that Ewers, McCord, Dart are first round picks is absurd but we know what we are dealing with.

Tyler Shough has been getting a lot of positive press during this draft cycle. Honestly, I am a bit surprised considering his career path. I will say that Cristobal certainly screwed him over at Oregon early on in his career. He transferred to Texas Tech and then Louisville his final year and put together a good season. He's already 25 though and I believe will be 26 at the beginning of the season. Big time arm, big, physical runner.

He competed at the combine, went through drills, ran a 4.63 40 and threw the ball.

Didn't realize Grubbs was draft eligible. Not invited to any all star game or the combine. Another huge screw job by the NFL draft process.

Career numbers: 210 solo tackles/186 assist tackles/396 total tackles , 37.5 TFL, 10 sacks - yet somehow he wasn't good enough to warrant any consideration from any supposed scouting expert.

He’s from Louisiana just doesn’t have the typical “look” . Another screw job only we notice.

Elite numbers for Parker, only knock I have is he’s 25.

Impressive workout from Gifford, arguably the best tackling Safety in the Draft IMO. Great size and times for him. Hutmacher should have had a combine invite as well! Good workouts from Cornhusker overachievers!

Oh I’ve no doubts the combine fudges numbers positive for blacks. Just take a look at 40 times for whites and blacks: there is always an unofficial time recorded before the official one posts. White players seem to always have a slower official time than unofficial; blacks magically have faster official times than unofficial.
 
watching Skatteboo's 40 vid I think he is eased up a-bit at about 30yds(possible ham flinch/tweak) it is noticeable in the video. With all the talk arm lengths I must be a freak lol 5'9" with 33" long arms...didn't help me run any faster lol

Thanks for posting! Forgot about his workout. 4.5 is plenty fast, my guess is Jeanty runs at a similar speed but he has decided not to participate in the 40 time. Skattebo probably the most explosive, toughest, hardest runner in this year's class.
