When the hell did that happen?? You sure couldn't tell from his play. . .

That makes it even more important that the Patriots win tomorrow, because if they don't Houston and their stifling defense will have a good chance of beating Denver without Nix.

And here I was thinking great game, whatever the outcome either Allen or Nix goes further into the playoffs...and now they're both out.

Stidham is a serviceable journeyman. Hopefully Payton is able to scheme around him. It certainly deflating and makes it all that more important for the Patriots to win tomorrow.

Exactly what I was thinking

DWFs on twitter were screaming that Nix was a bum and “not like that” and then ate their words finding out he beat the Bills with some insane plays on a broken ankle.

It was the second last play of the final offensive series. Nix had a shoe string tackle applied to the injured ankle and he came up limping. The next play they centered the ball.

I don't have much confidence in Stidham and Denver doesn't have a Davis type to take off the pressure so this could be a long day for Denver next Sunday.

Looks like the 49ers are done. Lynch is facing a very deep draft with our OL, TEs and LBs that should all be available to inject some talent, youth and health into the team. Only question is will he finally draft correctly or continue his awful track record?

At least this Seahawks team is not the same as the Pete's plantation era.

Well, the most likely outcome now, a Seahawks-Patriots Super Bowl, wouldn't be half bad from a caste perspective.

Just as long as it's not Texans-Bears. *shudder*

Pretty sure Texans bears would be the worst caste matchup in Super Bowl history, right?

Broncos are not totally out of this, by any means. Thing is, they will, very likely, have to be carried by their excellent defense. There is absolute "precedent" for this -- Broncos team being "carried" by their defense. The 2015 Denver Broncos won a Super Bowl with the worst quarterback play in the NFL. That can't be disputed!

An amazing, Hall-of-Fame quarterback, who just simply "lost it" overnight, at the age of 39, led them to a Super Bowl win. He "lost it" after producing stunning seasons for the 2013 (55 TD's) and 2014 Broncos. During that 2015 season, the Hall-of-Fame quarterback went 7-2 in the regular season, tossing only 9 TD's and was intercepted 17 times! His postseason stats were a bit better, but not by much. Just cut down the turnovers.

Not saying the Broncos chances are not diminished. Because they are. But can Jarrett Stidham's play be any worse than the quarterback play the Broncos got in 2015, the last time they won a Super Bowl? It will likely come down to turnovers. Actually, the case could be made that Brock Osweiler was their best quarterback option in 2015 and he did not take a post-season snap. They still won, suffocating opposing teams offense's in the rarefied Colorado air. Could happen again?

Best case scenario is the Patriots and Rams win today. Then sit back and enjoy the conference title games and let things fall as the will. Just like the Broncos/Pats AFC final back in January of 2016. That's my hope.

I think Stidham should be competent enough for them to win if the Texans offense struggles. He’s 29 now and has had time to learn the broncos system.

Last season he played, he went 40-66 with 2 TD and a pick, a decent 88 QBR.

Unfortunately I’ve noticed that Bo Nix is often improvising and running for his life. Now Stidham will be doing that.
